The Strategy

I write completely original resumes for my clients. My commitment to originality means that your document is not going to look like it’s been created by template software, nor will it have any of the tired, overused phrases typically found in mediocre resumes. The resume I write for you will be filled with accomplishment statements and keywords to get you noticed. As electronic scanning of resumes has become commonplace, and resumes are often “read” by ATS software instead of humans as a first screening, I use significant strategies to give you an advantage in the screening process. In addition to thoughtfully selecting and incorporating the best keywords, I also format knowing what design elements are ATS software friendly and which are not. This has become a significant issue in the resume-writing community, with some writers inadvertently overdoing the design elements, creating documents that are rejected by ATS software, and ironically hurting their clients’ chances.

Samples of my resumes have been published in eleven resume writing books. A list of those may be viewed on the about page of this site. Furthermore, during the 20+ years I have worked full-time in this profession, I have written resumes for virtually every type of occupation ( view list of occupations ). However, more importantly than the number of clients I work with and the volume of resumes I write, are the results my clients get. Using the resumes I crafted for them, my clients have secured dream jobs with premier companies and organizations.

There is a broad range of prices since I write resumes across all occupations and levels of responsibility (entry-level to senior executives). P rices for complete resume development start at $395 and rise incrementally. Cover letters are priced separately. I also write LinkedIn profiles for the majority of my clients. Fees for LinkedIn profile writing are custom quoted at the time other items are quoted.   

My fees for resume writing are reflective of my level of expertise, the significant credentials I have to do this work, and the personalized service I give my clients. I regularly evaluate my fee structure to ensure that I am market competitive with a subset of other resume writers who are similarly experienced and have a reputation for producing very high-quality work.  

Since each resume writing project is unique, prices are quoted, in advance, on an individual basis. The kind of position you seek and the amount of work experience you have (number of years, number of job titles, and number of employers) correlate with the complexity of the project. Those parameters guide me in the price quote.

Professor Peterson has assisted people with writing personal statements for graduate and professional schools for more than 20 years. Her experience as a college professor gives you the edge. She knows what the executives at these schools want to hear, or more importantly, what they DON'T want to hear.

The consultation for personal statements includes an initial planning session based on Professor Peterson's own Instruction Guide for Personal Statements. This includes an outline specifying the order of topics, the content of the paragraphs, and the conclusion.

I unknowingly started a fully functional virtual career services business at the beginning of the Corona Virus Pandemic to help the culture learn how to transition to the Virtual Age (get a remote job) and stay safe while still employed. So many people were losing their jobs while I had many to choose from. I was trained to be a Professional Resume Writer and Career Coach years before the lockdowns started in March 2020, but I was not providing any of those services to anyone. I would just talk about it because everybody that knew me already knew that I used to do career services. I was not utilizing ANY of my crafts when the virus broke out.

During the beginning of the pandemic, I was working as a teacher. Once the virus started to spread to my facility however, I decided to leave my full-time job as a daycare teacher because the school districts decided to not shut down. I quickly told my employers that I received the Corona ( A LIE ) and was that my "doctor" told me to go into an immediate 3-week quarantine. I was buying myself time so that I could find a new job completely from home.

Through my seasoned efforts and knowledge of how to get jobs, I got a LOT of offers at an almost alarming rate. I spent all Sunday night one weekend applying my own tips to my job hunt strategy for remote roles only and I woke up the next Monday morning with an email full of job offers. In these moments of success from betting on myself, I got the feeling that I was being led and that instead of just trying to get a new job for myself to make ends meet, I should try and help other people get hired.

With only my best friend Mataia's encouragement and support, I started showing my process to the people on Twitter and Instagram. I posted my tips and the success messages I would get from Recruiters and Hiring Manager, even the offer letters I would get. I documented everything from day 1 and like fire , job seekers came rushing at me from all over the world. I had to throw together the initial phases of getting a legitimate business off the ground. In September 2020, Mataia told me that I should start making TikTok videos with my resume tips to help get the word out there about my services and teach job seekers all over the world about the inside secrets of how to navigate and excel in The Business of Getting Hired . And let me tell you... THE BUSINESS HASN'T STOPPED BOOMING SINCE!
