Speech on Save Environment in English

Respected Principal, Respected Vice President, Respected Teachers and My Fellow Students!

I am glad that in our morning meeting we have chosen this very important topic, saving the environment, for speech and discussion and being the head girl of the school, I feel fortunate to have the privilege of giving a speech on this topic. am feeling I find no topic better than the one chosen as a topic of discussion on Environment and Geography especially when it has become such a popular topic in recent times. I am sure that every one of us wants to save the environment at any cost. However, saving the environment does not mean protecting only our immediate surroundings but also our parks, forest reserves and wildlife sanctuaries. There is no room for doubt that we all have a responsibility to save our mother earth so that it can become a clean and safe place to live in.

Mother Earth, who casts her shadow over all, has given some incredibly beautiful gifts of nature to humans which include rivers, mountains, forests and various natural resources that help us survive on this planet every day. So now it is our turn to work to save the environment from the challenges which are becoming a constant threat to the existence of our mother earth.

Sadly, there is no part of the Earth that has not been affected by our actions whether it is the health of our planet or the land where we live, work, the ozone layer, water supply, wildlife or Our species – which is under increasing threat. The environment we live in is certainly not as conducive as it used to be. Large quantities of toxic chemicals coming out of chemical industries are being found in the rivers, poisonous smoke is coming out from vehicles continuously. People are disposing of waste in such a way which is not at all safe for our environment.

Although the problem has increased to a great extent, it is not that the solution does not exist. We have to believe in ourselves that we can do something for our planet.

So let’s take a pledge to save our “Mother Earth” in every possible way.

There are many ways after adopting which we can contribute effectively to save this mother earth. For example, we can plant more and more trees in the area around us or where we see empty space or if you have vacant land in your house then start planting trees. Plants as we all know absorb carbon dioxide for the process of photosynthesis and release oxygen into the environment. It is estimated that during the time a tree is alive, it absorbs one ton of carbon dioxide. No problem, if you do not have a lot of space, then you can keep small pots of plants in your balcony, doorway or even windows.

Second, use your personal vehicles and get into the habit of using public transport and bicycles for short distances. Also do not waste energy at home or office. Turn off electrical equipment when not in use. You can use a fluorescent light bulb in place of a normal bulb. You might think that these bulbs are expensive but trust me they really help in reducing our electricity bills and emit 70 percent less heat as compared to normal bulbs.

You should also use water wisely. Turn off the tap immediately after using the water and dispose of the waste in the dustbin without throwing the waste here and there. Encourage others in your family to adopt these measures as well and save the environment from being wasted.

That’s all I had to say. Thank you.

Respected CEO, Respected Manager, Dear Colleagues (Supervisors) and Dear Factory Employees!

As you all know, we are gathered here to celebrate ‘World Environment Day’. I have been given this opportunity to share data regarding environmental protection but before that I will share my thoughts and facts about environment.

Our environment is an important part of our life. It is the main source of our life as we get food, water, air from the environment. In fact the environment maintains our balance where we breathe and live every moment. Thus the quality of our life also depends on our environment.

In earlier days people lived in peace-harmony, adapting themselves to the environment, but in the modern era we are trying to mold the environment according to our need and convenience, so that ultimately we are knowingly or unknowingly directly or indirectly. harming from. The latest technological advancement in the field of science has made us more empowered which makes me feel that we are unnecessarily using the resources of the environment indiscriminately and giving nothing in return except harmful chemicals and pollution.

These consequences are giving rise to environmental problems around the world such as deforestation, loss of biodiversity, air pollution, pollution in rivers due to the flow of toxic chemicals, waste material, garbage, plastics, global warming and weakening of ozone layer. Contamination of minerals like ground water, oil, gas reserves and natural resources, development of toxic gases, air pollution, increase of haze etc.

It is clear that due to our uncontrolled actions we have harmed the ecological balance of our environment and hence facing these issues. This is the right time when we should take some drastic actions to maintain our environment and make our place a better place to live for our next generations.

Well the first step would be to optimize our process of manufacturing and use of the household product to be eco-friendly. Rebuildable, reusable and reusable technologies should be used more in manufacturing units. Developed countries are more responsible for global environmental problems. Thus the government of such countries and the United Nations Organization (United Nations Organization) should take precautionary measures at the global level. In addition, long-term planning and close monitoring of the manufacturing units’ operations is essential. Youth should be educated to live in harmony with the environment instead of using it and exploiting it.

Every one of us should take care of protecting the environment because global warming is a serious issue leading to elevated level of environmental pollution and it is also harmful to health. Natural resources and forests should be protected to control drought and floods. Pesticides should be used in a limited manner and the soil should be protected from getting polluted.

Waste of vegetables and fruits can be converted into fertilizers and should not be left in ponds. We should take care of small tasks like saving drinking water, use of jute, cloth, paper bags, recycling waste products etc. We can still save our environment from deteriorating completely.

I hope from now on we all will implement these measures in our day to day life and try to protect our environment.

Good morning respected principal, teachers and my dear classmates.

The theme of today’s meeting is “Save the Environment”.

What is environment? I know we all have different definitions for this one word. If I say in simple words, environment is the environment around us in which we humans, plants and animals live. Now just imagine, would we ever choose to live in an environment that is bad or unhealthy? not at all..! We always want to live in an environment that is safe for us and others. An ideal environment is one that does not cause human diseases, extinction of natural resources, plants and animals.

Humans play an important role in the protection of the environment. Good or bad environment depends on our activities. By our actions we are contributing to the degradation of the natural environment which consequently affects the human life on planet earth. All human actions and activities in this modern world directly impact the entire ecosystem and environment. We must monitor our activities and ensure that we stop our dangerous acts so that the environment can be protected.

It is our duty to protect the environment but today our environment is in danger due to our actions and decisions. We are responsible for the pollution spreading in the environment. Deforestation, mining, improper use of machines and electricity, indiscriminate use of vehicles for short distance travel etc. are responsible for pollution. Global warming, depletion of natural resources, unbalanced rainfall, cyclones, disease and life among pollution are some of the symptoms that show that we are living in an imbalanced environment. We have to accept that we are ruining the environment for us as well as for the future generation. We should stop doing this immediately and control our activities which do not endanger our environment.

Protecting the environment from damage is not a big task, it is not something that cannot be solved. We just need to take some steps. Save natural resources like water, energy etc, dispose our waste properly and do not spread garbage on roads and public places, plant more trees, use public vehicles and avoid using individual vehicles for each member, Control industrial waste etc. Don’t think it’s easy? Yes it is absolutely easy. We just need to be alert and keep a control on our actions and we will definitely be able to reduce the bad effects and contribute towards saving the environment.

Concluding my discussion here, I would like to request you to kindly monitor the activities you do and also educate others about your work and for the protection of environment. We should encourage and contribute to the projects run by the government and various non-governmental organizations which are focusing on saving the environment. If we all take steps to stop the excessive use of petroleum, coal and natural gas, many major environmental problems will disappear on their own. We should grow more and more trees and find all possible ways to dispose the waste waste in the right way. Our focus should be entirely on the maintenance of renewable and reusable sources of energy. These will help in saving the environment from global warming.

Thank you. Please share this message to everyone.

Good morning everybody. I welcome all of you to this discussion.

The topic of our discussion today is “Save Environment”.

How important do you all think to save the environment? Saving our environment really means saving our lives. The atmosphere is basically the environment of the surrounding geographical area. Environment is the main source for human beings, creatures, plants and animals to live, eat, play, work, enjoy, walk, breathe, hear, drink or exist as a whole. We all need a healthy and natural environment to lead life in a healthy happy way.

We all have the responsibility of monitoring the environment and monitoring our day to day activities. Ecology, environmental balance and natural cycles have become unbalanced which is very difficult to bring back to the same condition and natural form. Environment can be protected to ensure development at various levels, individual, organization controlled or government level.

We all must understand that there are both living and non-living things in our environment. It can be classified as natural environment and built environment. Natural environment is the one which has existed naturally for a long time and built environment is created by man like buildings, industries etc.

Cutting of trees, industrialization, technological improvements and so many human activities have increased the danger and damage to the environment which threatens to affect the life, development and survival of all living beings. Many types of environmental pollution like water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, soil pollution are disturbing the balance of the environment and causing various types of health hazards, diseases to humans and animals. The constant unbalanced temperature of the earth causes disturbance to a great extent for the harmonious existence of human beings and other living beings due to various natural calamities and hazards in many man-made and natural means.

We all should focus on our activities and notice that none of us will bring down the quality of the environment. We should use energy, electricity and natural resources wisely. Restrict the use of vehicles over short distances and insist on using public transport instead of using separate vehicles for each member. These are just a few things that humans should keep in mind while protecting their environment.

Before concluding my discussion about saving the environment, I would like to say that I know you are well aware of all the important aspects. How human beings carefully protect the environment. Every action we take has a result and a consequence. Outcomes are what we desire but the consequences can be classified as good and bad that benefit and harm our environment. We can take the responsibility of protecting the environment by following small activities. Thank you for being a part of this discussion to protect our motherland, our environment.

Hold on till the very end of this blog as we have a bonus tip to simplify this process, just for you.

1. Tips to Remember Before You Write your Speech

Crafting a movie requires the crew to plan everything with utmost precision and that’s exactly where the pre-production stage comes to play.

Likewise, before drafting a speech on the environment, you need to focus upon a few things to enhance the speech’s impact on your audience.

At the same time, these tips will help you to stand out in the crowd.

A) Understanding your True Purpose

know your true purpose as a speaker

You possibly cannot deliver a speech about the environment without feeling deeply about the issue.

Firstly, start by questioning yourself, ‘Why should I be concerned about  our environment ?’

Now, start looking for even the slightest changes in your lifestyle in terms of the environment.

These changes can be as evident as the scarcity of water and as ignored as the less appreciation of nature by humans.

This will provide you with the reasons as to how is the issue affecting you?

These reasons can be listed by you during the course of your speech to establish trust, credibility and relatability factor.

Get yourself aware of the urgency of the situation

Go on the internet, research the issue at hand and make yourself aware of the worst-case scenario, that is, ‘what would happen if human beings do not respond now?’

This way, you will connect with the issue emotionally and this will reflect in your voice as you deliver your speech.

You simply cannot expect your audience to feel deeply about the issue unless you yourself feel that emotional connect.

Because somewhere down the corner, we all are responsible for environmental degradation in our own ways.

This realization must first hit you before you convey this idea through your speech.

This emotional connect will reflect in the form of:

  • the content of your speech
  • vocal variety
  • body language

B) Brainstorming Session

mind mapping technique

A speech as informative as this needs to have right facts in just the right amount and at the right places.

The major issue with most of the environmental speeches is that the right facts are not incorporated in the right way.

  • So, begin with researching the issue and note down the environmental facts.
  • Prepare a mind map to better organize your thoughts . Jot down the main points and make a rough skeleton of your speech.
  • Once you have done this, try thinking from an audiences’ perspective . Ask yourself, ‘If I were the audience, what would be my expectations from a speech about the environment?’ Note down those thoughts as well.

Try not to be generic while doing the brainstorming session, include the pointers other speakers have missed out on.

In order to stand unique as an orator speaking about the environment, one must learn from the mistakes made by other speakers.

Understand what exactly is your audience looking for and frame your speech accordingly.

We have written an article on How to add facts in a speech? Check it out to balance your speech about the environment with just the right facts.

C) Who is your audience?

audience analysis

A speech about the environment has a dynamic audience . Thus, it can be delivered at a school, college or even a workplace for that matter.

Understand the demographics of your audience, like age and level of education, to mold your speech accordingly.

For instance, if you are delivering a speech about the environment at school, you might want to include less jargon and break down the content in a much simpler way for the students to understand.

Similarly, if you are delivering an environmental speech at a workplace, you can incorporate jargon along with relatable lifestyle experiences to convey your ideas better.

In a nutshell, formulate the content of your speech according to the audience you are catering to.

D) Duration of the speech

Instead of beating around the bush, a good orator tries to make a long-lasting impact without taking too much time of the audience.

Thus, try to keep your speech short and precise without falling into the trap of possible digressions.

After listening to so many speeches on the environment, we all know our expectations from the next speech we listen about the environment.

Thus, most important of all, prioritize the information and interestingly present that information. This way, you give away the essential information while retaining the attention of your audience.

We have written an article on How to deliver a 1-minute speech: Tips, Examples, Topics & More . Have a look at it to make your speech memorable within a short time frame.

Once you’ve learned this, the next step is to have smooth transitions in your speech. This is done to avoid any sort of blabber and convey the ideas effectively.

To know more about smooth speech transitions, check out Effective Speech Transitions: How to Make Your Speech Flow .

A) Out-Of-The-World Title

A speech about the environment can create a certain monotony in the minds of the audience, even before you actually deliver it.

As an audience, we expect that monotony in the environmental speeches.

Thus, a boring speech title can bore your audience to sleep.

Many a times, we stumble upon a speech title we haven’t ever heard of and are naturally drawn to know more about the speech.

The major issue with most of the environmental speeches in current times is a boring title. Titles like  Speech on Save Environment and Speech on Environmental Degradation  can seem pretty daunting to the audience and might disinterest them.

Instead, consider having a thought-provoking title that doesn’t give the speech idea away so that when the audience actually listens to your speech, they pay more attention and start connecting the dots.

This way, something unusual yet related to your speech can assist you to hold the attention of your audience.

Let’s look at a few interesting speech titles. All based on the environment!

Admit it, we’ve grown old reading that water is an essential pre-requisite for the crops to survive and grow.

But, what happens when a speech title tells you otherwise? You obviously get drawn to listen to the speech.

I’m sure after reading this speech title, you are now wondering, ‘which country is she talking about?’

So, the moment you come across a speech title like this, a sense of conflict has been created in your mind and you naturally want to know more about it.

B) Catchy Introduction

A catchy introduction begins with a strong opening line while bringing into light the main idea of the speech.

The attention span of the audience is at its peak at the beginning of a speech. So, now that you know this, make sure you capitalize it!

Instead of starting your speech with something as bland as a  Good Morning , attempt hitting new approaches to grip the attention of the audience throughout the speech.

The last thing a speech topic as common as the environment needs is a bland introduction.

Thus, working on a strong beginning is the most crucial element when it comes to speech writing about environment.

Here are a few interesting ways to jump start your speech:

Start with a story

We all love listening to stories! Be it fictional or real . It’s a personality trait which we all share in common.

You can start your speech on the environment with a story inspired from your own personal experience or you can create your own story.

But, remember even while creating a story from scratch, you need to sound realistic and establish relatability . So, it’s ideal to avoid any sort of exaggeration on your part.

Once you have decided on the story you wish to tell, remember to connect your story with the environment, in general.

To assist you in this process of crafting a story, we have written an article on 9 Storytelling Approaches for Your Next Speech . Check it out to know more!

Bringing the Element of Creativity

Use of adequate props and placards can assist you to add real value to the audiences’ experiences, particularly in a speech about the environment.

Think out-of-the-box and bring this element of creativity the next time you deliver a speech.

By bringing this visual element, you make your speech all the more memorable.

Let’s understand this better with the help of an example.

In this TED Talk about the environment, the orator decides to begin her speech by bringing a small jar. Have a look at how well she connects this prop with the essence of her speech.

C) Relatable Anecdotes

Well, what is the point of delivering a great speech if your audience can’t relate to it?

By stating relatable life experiences, you sound more realistic and believable . As a result, the audience starts respecting your thoughts.

For instance, while delivering a speech about environmental problems and solutions, start discussing how the environmental problems have affected you and your family and what solutions you are considering to deal with it.

Essentially, convey these anecdotes in the form of a story and make sure that these anecdotes are relatable.

D) Body of the speech

Here lies the main purpose of your speech!

It is at this point that you start supporting your ideas with relevant facts and evidence .

In this case, while delivering a speech about the environment, be aware of the real purpose of your speech.

If your speech about the environment is required to list down the solutions to save the environment, try leading the solutions with the micro-level steps which we all can practice in our day-to-day lives and then move onto the solutions at a community level.

Because the major flaw with most of the environmental speeches is that we focus a lot more upon the changes at a government level rather than bringing into light the changes at the individual and community level.

It all begins at home and then the awareness is spread at a community level.

Steer clear of stating the obvious while citing supporting shreds of evidence and think innovatively to come up with information that can actually add value to audiences’ experiences.

E) Drafting a Memorable Conclusion

A captivating conclusion keeps your speech alive in the minds of the audience.

First things first, avoid ending your speech with a bland ‘thank you’.

Instead, in the concluding statement, sum up the gist of your speech and provide the audience with a key takeaway.

To maximize the impact of your concluding remarks, end your speech with a poem or an intriguing question, and leave your audience awestruck by providing them with something to ponder upon.

Check this article to learn effective ways to end your speech with maximum impact.

F) Set the Right Mood

Setting the right tone of the speech is extremely crucial.

This way, you guide your audience to perceive your thoughts in just the intended manner.

You can set the right tone with the help of effective body language , facial expressions and voice modulation.

For instance, while delivering a speech about the environment which demands you to cite the solutions, a sense of hope must be reflected throughout the course of your speech. You can achieve this by sounding optimistic in your voice and having open body language.

In a similar fashion, a speech about the environmental problems would require you to sound empathetic in your voice.

3. Drawing Inspiration from ‘Great Speeches on the Environment’

Saving the environment from consumerism.

How to save Earth with 5 minutes a day of responsible consumerism

Why We Need to Think Differently About Sustainability

4. A Sample Speech on the Environment

“Why should I be studying for a future that soon may be no more, when no one is doing anything to save that future?”, asked Greta Thunberg, and I’m sure we all are in search of an answer to this question, more so in these unprecedented times when the entire world is at a standstill. Environmental depletion, a term we take so lightly, has been increasing with each year passing by. This year (2020 as of writing), Earth Overshoot Day was observed on August 22, exhausting nature’s budget for the year in just seven months. Even as I speak and you listen to this speech, The residents of Goa are raising their voices against an infrastructure plan which is all set to cut through Mollem National Park and destroy the habitat of thousands of animals. Even as I speak, 10,000 clothing items are being sent to landfills every 5 minutes. All because of Fast Fashion! Even as I speak, more than 80 percent of the world population is living under light-polluted skies. All because of light pollution!  And, when we actually reflect upon all of these things, there’s no one to blame but us.  Yet, we choose to remain silent.  So, I ask you today,   Why are we silent? Why don’t we care about the planet we live on?  I believe that by choosing to remain silent over the environmental issues, we are doing a disgrace to the very act of humanity.  Ain’t we ought to save this environment while we still can?  I know that since time immemorial, we have grown up learning about sustainability. In the most literal sense, we PREACH sustainability. But when it comes to bringing that into practice, our values shy away.  All of a sudden, we start to run short of time. You know why? The reason is we don’t appreciate our environment, anymore. And, that’s the root cause that is holding us back in the pathway towards sustainability.  I still remember when I was 10 years old, my father and I had this really nice ritual of going to the park for evening walks. Back then, it just didn’t matter what headspace we’re in, the air of calmness that surrounded the park would just put us at ease. It was THAT therapeutic!   But, coming back to this so-called modern mechanized era, we’ve parted our ways with this ritual. Now, in these times, even the thought of going to a park sounds cliché to all of us!   We need to learn to appreciate, nurture, and love our environment in order to save it. Because it all begins at home! You and I CAN make the difference and now is the time to inculcate sustainable lifestyle habits. The first step here can be as simple as cutting down the waste we produce in the environment. Be it in terms of buying packaged fruits and vegetables from a farmers’ market or making the area you live in litter-free. Moving ahead, the next step might sound a bit difficult because let’s face it- We ALL love shopping! But, when it comes to leading a sustainable lifestyle, minimalism is the key. Start prioritizing every single time you shop for something. When you do this, you value things you own and don’t end up wasting so much.  Gladly, to our relief, the world isn’t that pessimistic. In this age of globalization, we now have people as ‘environmental influencers’ initiating a call for action. Let’s shower our love and support towards them by drawing inspiration from them.  Therefore, I now say,  Let’s pledge to align our values and actions.  Let’s pledge to spend more time in nature.  And most important of all, let’s pledge to save this planet while we are on this planet.

Bonus tip: a quick checklist.

Now, as promised, we have got a quick checklist for you to follow the next time you write a speech about the environment.

Follow this checklist to eliminate the most common flaws and stand out in the crowd as you deliver a speech about the environment.

1.Find out your ‘why’. State the purpose of you delivering a speech about the environment to establish an emotional connect with the environment to convey your thoughts more effectively.
1.Research well on the environment to avoid generic facts and provide your audience with just the relevant facts.
2.A topic as vast as the environment requires you to draw a mind map to gather your thoughts better. Know what content will mark repetition and what will stand out in a speech topic as common as this.
3.The audience here is dynamic as it includes people from different age groups and different walks of life. So, get the audience analysis done to employ your communication skills accordingly.
4.Keeping in view the duration of your speech, prioritize the content of your speech. You don’t want to bore the audience. Keep your speech to-the-point, nice and engaging to keep up the interest of the audience.
5.Prepare a first draft of the speech by jotting down the key elements (Make sure you think from an audiences’ Point of View while preparing this draft).
6.Provide a catchy and relevant title. Avoid generic speech titles like ‘Speech on Save Environment’ as it will lead the audience to expect monotony and pay less attention to your speech on the environment.
7.Structure your speech by dividing the content into introduction, body and conclusion.
8.Start well! Don’t start your speech on the environment with a bland good morning. Either begin with a story related to environment or use relevant props to relate it to your core idea about the environment.
9.Relevant detail-oriented body with less generic content, more environmental stories and less touched concepts about the environment.
10.End well with a call-to-action! Generic environmental speeches lack actual takeaway for its audience. Make sure your audience actually takes something away from your speech for working towards a better environment.
11.Add relevant personal experiences to establish relatability. State why you care about the environment and provide the audience with a reason to care.
12.Work on speech delivery techniques by improving body language, voice tonality and facial expressions.
13.Practice, practice and practice.

IN CONCLUSION

By having a close look at the sample speech attached above, you’ll understand the use of storytelling technique in the opening remarks of your speech.

The sample speech includes a story which follows a question directed towards the audience which instills them to ponder over the situation in hand.

The body of the sample speech constitutes three simple solutions towards a sustainable environment instead of going all vague and broad by citing the generic solutions. So, the key here is to be specific and realistic while listing solutions in your speech.

The thoughts have been organized in a poetry format so as to conclude the speech in an interesting and memorable manner.

We hope that this article aids you in the speech writing process the next time you write a speech about the environment, or any descriptive topic for that matter.

Long and Short Speech on Environment in English

Environment speech 1.

Good Morning Principal, Teachers, and My Dear Friends!

As of today, the whole school has been assembled here for this beautiful occasion of World Environment Day, which is celebrated on 5 th June every year; I would like to say a few words dedicated to the environment.

The environment is the surroundings made from five elements: Air, Water, Land, Sky, and Fire for us to flourish. It has always been said that only earth has the most favorable climatic conditions to help us survive. We should be very grateful to the earth that we have been provided with such a great environment with everything in its nature that helps us thrive. But day by day, we are ruining it on the highest pitch that will eventually lead us towards our destruction.

We should understand the importance of the natural environment, try to deduce our non-eco-friendly activities, and imperatively plant as many trees as possible and save water, which are the two biggest issues.

Thank you, and have a nice day!

Environment Speech 2

Hon’ble Principal, Teachers, and My Dear Friends!

As this special assembly has been called to address the biggest issue these days regarding our environment, I would like to express my views on it. The world has recognized that our environment is not as it was before. Drastic changes have occurred in a few years, such as climatic changes, increment in natural disasters, etc., all due to our changing lifestyle.

Our environment consists of 5 elements- Air, Water, Land, Fire, and Sky and we have disturbed the process of the entire ecosystem by cutting the vast amount of trees that contribute the most to balancing the environmental cycle, installment of large polluting industries, hunting/poaching of animals leading towards their endangerment, etc.

Out of this, the question arises what kind of future we want or what kind of future we will hand over to our next generations? Is this the kind of development we all have dreamt about? Walking with a mask on our faces, struggling in floods and earthquakes, destruction of animals who aren’t even aware of what’s happening.

Now, this is high time we need to recognize the importance of our natural environment and try every possible action towards saving it, from saving water to planting trees.

Environment Speech 3

Good morning to the Excellencies, my respected teachers, and my dear friends. The topic of my speech is Environment. The environment is the surrounding in which we live. It is the source of life. Our whole life is dependent on the environment. It directs our life and determines our proper growth and development.

The good or bad quality of social life depends on our natural environment. Human beings need food, water, shelter, and other things depending on their environment. A balanced natural cycle exists between the environment and the lives of humans, plants, and animals. Human society plays a vital role in degenerating the natural environment, negatively affecting this planet’s lives. All the human actions in this modern world directly impact the whole ecosystem.

All the actions have brought a big change to this planet, resulting in many environmental problems. The increasing demand for technologies and industries in modern times impacts nature. The growing invention for new technologies has changed the interaction of people with an environment, which permits more populations to grow.

Modern technologies have immense power and have altered the whole environment in an unimagined way. The indiscriminate use of the environment is the root of the ecological crisis. Such continuous increases in technologies and human behavior are correspondingly very serious. Such amazing technologies became the reason for economic growth in the 20 th century; however, they dramatically affected natural resources.

Environmental problems include rapid growth in world population, deteriorating natural resources, diminishing forests and wetlands, erosion of soil and coral reefs, depleting underground water, regular shortage of fresh drinking water, vanishing plants, and salinization in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. Some other issues are loss of biodiversity, rapid extinction of some important animal species, collapse of fisheries, rising air and water pollution, rise in atmospheric temperature, thinning of ozone layer, spoiling rivers, seas and underground resources.

Even though science and technology have radically altered the terms of adaptation to the nature, we still need to adapt to the environment. Human society is embedded in an environment. We must not forget that the human being is first and foremost an animal, sharing living space with other animal species in an environment on which they are mutually dependent. It is our responsibility to save our environment and earth and make the possibility of healthy and happy life here.

Environment Speech 4

Good morning to the Excellencies, my respected teachers, and my dear friends. As we have gathered here to celebrate this occasion, I would like to speech over Environment. To run life in a healthy, happy way, we all need a healthy and natural environment. Continuously increasing the human population adversely affects the forests. Human beings are cutting forests to a great extent to make their home live securely; however, they do not think of the problems arising from the lack of forests.

It completely disturbs the natural cycle between the environment and life on the earth. Because of the over-population, the number of various chemical elements is increasing in the atmosphere which ultimately causes irregular rainfall and global warming. We cannot imagine the negative effects of global warming on the climate and the lives of human beings and other living species.

According to the research, it is found that the perennial snow mountains of Tibet were covered by thick snow in the past; however, those thick snows are getting very thin day by day over the last few decades because of global warming. Such a condition is a very dangerous situation and an indication of the end of life on earth, which needs to be taken very seriously by all countries worldwide. It is very true that climate change goes very slow; the however, slow continuous process is very dangerous.

Because of the regular changes in the environment physical structure of human beings and other living species has been changed from generation to generation. Increasing human population needs more land for agricultural cultivation and living purpose, which force them to cut more trees and forests, so deforestation has its dangerous side effects.

The increasing the level of industrialization has countless harmful effects on the atmosphere because of the poisonous chemical emissions and dangerous waste drainage in the big water resources such as the Yamuna, Ganga, and other rivers. The ever-changing (negatively) environment is not the issue of only some countries or government; it is the issue of whole human fraternity because we all are the reason of this negatively declining environment, so we all are responsible to save our natural environment for the healthy survival of life on the earth.

Protecting the atmosphere is a matter of high importance for all the present and future generations of mankind. The main purpose of my speech today over the environment is only to increase the public awareness among common people about the reasons of declining environment as well as need of healthy and natural environment for the life on earth. So, it is my humble request to all of you that you please contribute to saving your environment.

Environment Speech 5

Good morning to my respected teachers and my dear friends. As we have gathered here to celebrate this occasion, I would like to give a speech on the Environment to increase awareness among the public about the negatively changing environment. An environment is the natural surrounding which covers and protects us from the natural disasters.

However, our healthy and natural environment is getting worse daily and taking the form of demons affecting everything from non-living to living being we know is two types of environ: natural environment and built environment. The natural environment is one that exists naturally, and the one for which man is responsible such as cities etc., is called the built environment. There are many natural and unnatural factors polluting the whole natural atmosphere.

Some of the natural factors like volcanoes, floods, etc. are the reasons for the declining environment. However, manmade reasons are more rampant caused due to reckless and caustic human nature are highly responsible for the environmental pollution. Self centred human activities are highly responsible for the destruction of the environment. Other environmental threats like forest degradation, global warming, pollution, etc. are the reasons for environmental degradation. Continuous increasing temperature of the earth’s surface in the atmosphere because of the many human-made and natural means calls to the various natural calamities causing disturbance to a great extent to the healthy and common life of human and all other living beings.

Our natural environment has become hugely changed in the last few decades and has taken the form of a big and powerful demon affecting the lives of people every single moment. Nature has made everything to run in balance with the natural cycle however many factors causes environmental corrosion. The factors like population growth and economic advancement are considered as the major factors giving rise to many other secondary factors.

We must understand the importance of ecological balance and try our best to run it naturally to prevent the effects of environmental disasters and promote a a healthy environment. We should promote common public in our surroundings for a clean and green environment to prove the meaning of proverbs life “won’t have a society if we destroy the environment.”

Environment Speech 6

Hi all, I would like to say good morning to the Excellencies, respected teachers, and my dear friends. As we all know that we have gathered here to celebrate this auspicious occasion, I would like to speak over the environment of our continuously declining environment so that we all together can be successful in saving our environment by taking some effective steps. As we know that we live on the planet of the earth, having different types of surroundings called environments within which we can eat healthily, breathe freshly, and live safely.

However, what happens to our lives if any means of natural or manmade causes of environment degradation occurs? We cannot imagine the extent of loss to the human and other living beings’ existence. The ecology balance and natural cycles has become disturbed which is very hard to bring back and give it a natural shape. However, there is a common “saying that “prevention is better than cure,” so we never get tired of trying our best to save the environment.

The physical environment on this planet provides all of us a favorable required condition and supports the existence and growth of various forms of life The nature provides natural or physical environment however all forms of the living beings together constitute another environment called biological environment. Both environments are closely connected and make a unique natural system for the life survival. If the biological environment gets disturbed, the physical environment automatically gets disturbed, and both hugely affect human lives together.

Another environment that is completely dependent on human is the socio-cultural environment made by human beings. Whatever environment is, it must be healthy, safe and secure to continue the evergreen life on the earth in present and future.

We should realize our mistakes and concern about the environment in order to keep it clean, safe and secure for a healthy life. Many human activities like deforestation, industrialization, technological improvements, and so many others are leading our environment towards danger and keeping lives at risk by influencing the growth, development, and survival of all organisms.

Various types of environmental pollution, such as water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, soil pollution, etc., are disturbing the ecosystem and causing a variety of health hazards to human beings and animals. Environmental pollution damages the ecosystem and destroying the delicate balance of the natural ecosystem. So, nowadays environmental pollution is a matter of great concern and consideration for which we all together follow some effective steps and carry on until problems get solved completely.

Get your audience blown away with help from a professional speechwriter. Free proofreading and copy-editing included.

Examine the opportunities I offer, and assemble you own speaking text based on the sample series of reasons below.

That logic reasoning process in the end will result in a nice and substantial blueprint, and a sample argumentation scheme for a debate on good persuasive environmental speech topics.

Excessive Use of Natural Resources Leads to Depletion In The End.

I. Industrial development destroys the environment by left over and residue materials such as: a. High concentrations of metals;

b. Toxic substances and chemically changed minerals;

c. Debris and litter;

d. Radioactive infected ground at industrial sites.

II. Large-scale soil erosion because surface soil washes away due to influencing water tides and winds streams. a. Intensive plowing and draining of farm land.

b. Planting of genetically singular crops in combination with applying too much fertilizers and pesticides.

III. Abnormal huge irrigation systems in farming: a. Salination of the ground, ground water, and creeks and wells.

b. Excessive withdrawal of ground water reserves.

IV. Surface and underground mining for gas, oil and minerals devastate land and oceans and mutilates our world. a. It causes every growing desolate and desert spots.
V. Deforestation – the rainforests in Latin America are the obvious victims – you not need grown-up persuasive communication skills to bring this to reason. a. Including their biodiverisity of forest animals;

b. Exotic plants;

c. And micro-organisms.

Radioactive materials are – without exception I would state – firm persuasive environmental speech topics and essay discourse themes for students. E.g.:

Radio Active Waste Management.

I. There are three critical stages in the radio active waste management flow: a. Spent nuclear fuel that is stored temporarily at power plants, also known as interim storage.

b. The control of the risky transportation of radioactive materials.

c. The final storage and disposal, to protect future generations from potential threats.

В
II. There are three levels of contamination: a. The low level waste: 1. Nuclear reactor complexes, and also hospitals and research departments of industrial corporations produce low level waste.

2. It is considered as hazardous during at least thirty years and have to be isolated for three to five-hundred years from now.

В b. The intermediate level waste: 1. Heavier toxic materials from nuclear power plants constrained with the obligation to secure it in concrete.

2. Solid and semi-solid organic substances, chemical sediment from metal bonding processes.

В c. The high-level nuclear waste: 1. Exceeding the other acceptable amounts, highly dangerous to humans and other organic species for thousands of years in the future.

2. Residual nuclear waste in nuclear electricity generation complexes in the uranium fuel cycle.

3. Plutonium and uranium fuel in a nuclear reactor.

Intensive farming has many pros and cons. In the next example I deal with the cons. Note that each of them could be used as single persuasive environmental speech topics for a debate or essay:

The Disadvantages of Intensive Farming.

I. Disavantage One: often factory-like farms use an overkill of chemical fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides. a. Pesticides kill helpful insects. E.g. bees, ladybugs, and mantis.

b. Chemical residues in meat, in fruit and in vegetables end up in our human food chain.

c. The soil and water streams are contaminated.

II. Disavantage Two: The problem of overcrowded livestock feedyards and poultry holding facilities full of pigs, cows, and chickens. a. Their waste causes environmental pollution.

b. Great risk of livestock diseases and infections for humans.

III. Disavantage III: Forests fires to make way for farmland. a. Cause erosion of the soil.

b. Reduce the wild animal population.

IV. Disavantage Four: Hormonal preparations to stimulate growth. a. This must make genetic selection easier and have to facilitate the extensive breeding of animals.

You also could take the opposite side and defend the pro-intensive farming arguments by attacking and replacing them for reasons in favor of the supporters of intensive farming. That will provoke immediate discussion among your listeners. Furthermore I would like to share alternative options for persuasive environmental speech topics:

  • Endangered species;
  • Marine debris and microplastics;
  • The sea level rise.

Endangered species – The international list of protected animals. E.g. the Red List of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature IUCN. Sharpen your persuasive communication skills and judge the conditions for protection.

Marine debris and microplastics – More and more are our ocean, seas, lakes and rivers polluted. Littering: plastic bottles, bags, and so on. Persuade your audience to act. Let them support coastal volunteer operations to remove and prevent debris.

The sea level rise – What is bad about it? What are the predictions of meteorologists regarding the reported weather and climate changes? What should we do to stop it? Is it possible to stop the rise of the sea level anyway?

  • The fundamentals of logistics for oil and gas exploration.
  • Wildlife protection programs.
  • Plants, animals and organisms that live in the ocean.
  • The greatest rainforests in the world.
  • Facts and figures of littering in our community
  • Domestic water waste treatment plans.
  • Safety issues of nuclear power plants.
  • Local communities can contribute to maintenance of fragile ecosystems.
  • Global concern about climate change rose dramatically after Al Gore made his documentary.
  • The importance of sustainable development for future generations.
  • What is at stake with greenhouse carbon gas emissions?
  • Water is the upcoming hot issue in the Middle East.
  • Availability and purity of water.
  • The Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai – the smart innovative energy reuser.
  • South-American tropical forests.
  • Global climate change is not only caused by humans.
  • We need a healthy environment.
  • The effects of global warming.
  • Why conserving energy is important.
  • The negative aspects of a polluted environment.
  • The great Pacific garbage patch.
  • The ways that water pollution is harmful.
  • The effects of industrial and household waste.
  • What is global warming?
  • The benefits of organic farming.
  • Why drought is a serious problem.
  • The pollution of today’s world.
  • The importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling.
  • The effects of environmental degradation.
  • Why should we save birds.

Speech on Save Trees Save Environment

Trees are the lungs of our planet, breathing in carbon dioxide and exhaling fresh oxygen. Their importance to the environment cannot be overstated. Sadly, they are being cut down at an alarming rate, leading to serious environmental issues.

You can play a vital role in saving trees and in turn, the environment. By understanding the value of trees and acting to protect them, you can make a significant difference. It’s not just about the trees, it’s about the future of our Earth.

1-minute Speech on Save Trees Save Environment

Hello Friends,

Trees are the lungs of our planet. They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. We, humans, do just the opposite. This perfect balance keeps our air clean and our planet healthy. But our actions are putting trees in danger, and we need to change that.

Think about a world without trees. It would be a world without birds singing, without shades to hide from the sun, and without fresh air to breathe. We need trees for so many things. Did you know that trees also help to cool down our planet? They fight against the heat that we create with our cars and factories.

A small action can make a big difference. Planting a single tree may seem like a small thing, but if we all do it, imagine how many new trees we could have! Also, we should not cut down trees unnecessarily. We must find other ways to get what we need without harming our beautiful forests.

Remember, trees can’t speak for themselves, so it’s up to us to speak for them. So, let’s speak up, stand up, and take action. Save trees, save our environment, save our planet, and save our future. Thank you.

2-minute Speech on Save Trees Save Environment

Hi there, everyone! Today, I want to talk about a very important topic – saving trees to save our environment. Let’s break this down into simple parts.

Firstly, why do we need trees? Trees are like the lungs of our planet. They breathe in harmful carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. We need oxygen to live, so you could say that trees keep us alive! Not just humans, but all animals too. Without trees, we would have a lot less fresh air to breathe.

Secondly, trees give us shade and cool our cities. Without trees, cities become “heat islands” with temperatures many degrees higher than the surrounding areas. This can make life uncomfortable and increase the use of air conditioners, which in turn use a lot of power and make the planet even hotter.

Thirdly, trees are homes for many different types of animals. Birds build nests in them, squirrels live in them, and insects eat their leaves. Without trees, these animals would lose their homes. Imagine if your house was suddenly taken away – it wouldn’t be very nice, would it?

Fourthly, trees hold soil in place with their roots. Without trees, the soil can wash away when it rains, leading to landslides and floods. This is dangerous for people living nearby and also harms the environment.

Now, you might ask, what can we do to save trees and our environment? It’s simple. Start by planting more trees. Even one tree can make a difference. Next, try to use less paper. Paper comes from trees, so the less paper we use, the more trees we can save.

Also, we can recycle. By recycling paper, cardboard, and wood, we reduce the need to cut down more trees. And finally, we can protect our forests. Forests are large areas filled with trees, and they are very important for our planet’s health. By preserving and protecting our forests, we can help to save our environment.

Remember, every little bit helps. Even if you can only do a little to help, that little bit can make a big difference. So let’s all do our part to save trees and save our environment!

Thank you for listening. Let’s make our planet a better place together!

Balance in our ecosystem improves the quality of life and makes the earth a better place to live. By conserving resources, reducing pollution, planting more trees and recycling wastes, we can protect our environment.

“The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.” Said by Lady Bird Johnson. I am glad that we are discussing such a vital topic in our lives. Very good morning to everyone over here, respected teachers & my fellow friends. It feels a privilege that I am given a chance to deliver my speech on the topic ‘environment.’

The environment is the source of every life. The natural environment around us in which we breathe, sleep, eat, do work is the need of every living being on this planet. We all are dependent on this environment for food, shelter, water, oxygen etc. But over the years, the balance between nature & living beings has been misbalanced & human society has played a vital role in degrading the environment. It has impacted all the life forms on the earth.

Mother earth has given us unique gifts like rivers, biodiversity, mountains, flora & fauna. It has never stopped amazing us. Sadly there is no part of this beautiful earth which has not been contaminated by human beings. Some of the prevalent environmental problems trending these days are pollution, global warming , depleting underground water, increase in sea level, overexploitation of natural resources, diminishing forests, loss of biodiversity, extinction of species, climatic misbalance, melting of polar ice, ozone layer depletion & many more like this.

We all are aware of these, which is leading us to a deteriorating situation every day. One of the major cause is the population explosion which is leading to the exploitation of natural resources. Due to the growing demand, the invention & usage of technology is increasing rapidly so as the manufacturing, mining etc. The modern technologies have affected the environment in a degree which cannot be imagined.

Now knowing that all of we have done the damage, it is our responsibility to take steps to protect the mother earth. I am sure each one of us wants to save the environment, but saving the environment is not only respecting the government policies. It will be visible when we start taking care of our immediate environment. Though the problem is aggravated to many folds, every problem does have a solution.

Let’s do a pledge today to restore the natural balance. Each one of us must plant a tree every year. We must ensure that we are recycling the plastic wastes instead of throwing them like a shopping bag, water bottles, etc. Coming to school by cycle & walking must be ensured whenever possible instead of using a car, bikes & buses.

We all must ensure to keep our surrounding neat & clean. Everything starts with us, let’s make a better tomorrow. We must remember that nothing is impossible. It’s just that we need to keep faith in ourselves & do something for our planet. Save the planet; Save a life.

Short Speech on Environment 200 Words

Below we have provided 2 minute speech on environment, suitable for class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 students.

Good morning to everyone present over here. Respected teachers & my dear friends. I am happy to speak on one of my favourite topic, i.e. the Environment. The environment has always amazed me in various ways, let it the mountains, rivers, birds, animals, ocean, forests many more. This speech will go on if I discuss the bountiful things nature has gifted us. It has been quoted by Aristotle that “In all things of nature, there is something of the marvellous.”

But we the humans have adversely affected the balance between the environment & life on earth. Growing population, the growing demand & modern technologies has demarcated a wall between us & nature. The natural cycle has been disturbed. We have caused great pain to our mother earth with our activities. We have polluted the air breathe in, the water without which life is not possible, the soil which supports the life on the planet.

Humans have destroyed almost all parts of the earth. The consequences of the misbalance are not acceptable, which has resulted in havoc on earth. Global warming, climatic misbalance, rising temperature, rising sea level, extinction of species & many more. So let’s ask ourselves one question today, what have I done to save my mother earth? If you are already contributed for the cause, then pat yourself that you are already on it. It is the responsibility of all of us to do our part for our planet.

Let’s pledge to protect the environment we see around us. Minimal steps like planting a tree in a year also make a tremendous difference to the environment. Using paper bags instead of plastic will be another impacting step. Let’s incorporate those practices in our lives, which will make the earth a better place to live in. It is our responsibility to save the environment. Save the Environment, and you will Save Life and Future.

However, in recent years, there have been severe threats which in turn have led to huge damage to the environment. So, to ensure to have a sustainable future, it is very important that we all as human beings take crucial steps to save the environment.

Currently, one of the most pressing issues which we are all facing is climate change. The burning of fossil fuels to create energy has led to the emission of greenhouse gases, causing global temperatures to rise.

Speaking of problems, deforestation is another major concern. We all know that trees play a very important role in absorbing carbon dioxide and providing oxygen.

Essay on Save Environment in 300 Words

Our environment is a very precious thing which provides us with clean air, fresh water, fertile soil, and a diverse range of ecosystems that support countless species, including humans. However, our actions over the years have only shown that we aren’t grateful. This has led to environmental degradation and climate change has reached a threatening level. Therefore, we must start with immediate actions to save our environment.

One of the most pressing issues today is climate change. It is largely driven by the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation and several industrial activities. Due to all these activities, there have been dire consequences which can be quite evident through extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and disruptions to ecosystems.

To fight this climate change problem, we will have to work to get cleaner, renewable energy sources. We must also protect and restore our forests as they act as carbon sinks and absorb harmful greenhouse gases.

Common issues like pollution are creating a huge problem for us as it is poisoning our air, soil and water. To work on this, we must reduce our reliance on single-use plastics and adopt an eco-friendly alternative. On the other hand, industrial emissions and vehicle pollution can be controlled by putting strict actions and electric vehicles can be promoted. For wastewater, it can be treated through responsible waste disposal to prevent contamination of our water bodies.

Water scarcity is another growing concern. We must ensure that water is used wisely. Additionally, reducing water pollution from industrial and agricultural runoff is essential for the health of our ecosystems and aquatic life.

Biodiversity loss is another critical issue. Deforestation, habitat destruction, and overexploitation of resources are driving many species to extinction. Conservation efforts, protected areas, and sustainable practices in agriculture and fisheries are vital to preserving our planet.

In conclusion, we must address climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and water scarcity through a combination of government policies, technological advancements, and individual actions. Our planet’s health is intricately linked to our own.
