Introduction.

As a college student, the Christmas vacation is a much-needed respite from the rigors of academia and an opportunity to reconnect with family and friends. This past Christmas, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and learning, intertwined with the joyous festivities of the season.

Time with Family

I began my vacation by spending quality time with my family. We decorated the Christmas tree together, a tradition that always brings us closer. The twinkling lights and colorful ornaments were a reflection of our shared love and harmony. We exchanged thoughtful gifts, each one a testament to our understanding and appreciation of each other.

Volunteer Work

In the spirit of Christmas, I volunteered at a local shelter, serving meals and distributing gifts. The experience was humbling, reminding me of the privilege I often take for granted. The smiles on the faces of the less fortunate were the best gifts I received, reinforcing the true meaning of Christmas.

Exploration and Learning

I also took the opportunity to explore new interests. I delved into the world of digital art, learning about graphic design and animation. This not only broadened my horizons but also acted as a creative outlet, helping me unwind and relax.

The holiday season, and particularly Christmas vacation, is a time of joy, relaxation, and reflection. It offers an opportunity to break away from the monotonous routine and indulge in activities that rejuvenate the mind and soul. This essay recounts my memorable Christmas vacation, which was a blend of tradition, exploration, and personal growth.

Reconnecting with Family

My Christmas vacation began with a journey back to my hometown. The city, decked up in festive lights, exuded warmth and nostalgia. The first few days were dedicated to family. We indulged in traditional activities like decorating the Christmas tree, baking cookies, and singing carols. Each of these activities wasn’t just about following the rituals, but about strengthening bonds, reminiscing shared memories, and creating new ones.

Exploring New Horizons

Post-Christmas, I embarked on a solo trip to a small, serene town nestled in the mountains. This was an opportunity for self-exploration and adventure. I spent my days hiking, reading, and interacting with locals. The tranquility of nature and the simplicity of rural life offered a much-needed escape from the hustle of city life and academic pressures. This experience was a reminder of the importance of slowing down, embracing solitude, and appreciating the simple pleasures of life.

A significant part of my vacation was dedicated to volunteering at a local shelter. The holiday season is a time of giving, and what better way to celebrate it than by contributing to the community? The experience was humbling and rewarding. It offered a fresh perspective on life and instilled a deeper sense of gratitude in me.

Learning and Personal Growth

The vacation also provided a chance to pursue my interests. I attended a short course on creative writing, an area I’ve always been passionate about. The course was not just about honing writing skills, but also about expressing thoughts creatively, understanding different perspectives, and appreciating the power of words. This learning experience contributed significantly to my personal and intellectual growth.

My Christmas vacation was a blend of tradition, exploration, and learning. It was about reconnecting with family, exploring new horizons, giving back to the community, and pursuing personal interests. The experiences were enriching, offering lessons beyond the confines of a classroom. They reminded me of the importance of balance – between work and leisure, solitude and companionship, giving and receiving, learning and unlearning. As I look forward to the next vacation, I hope to carry forward these lessons and experiences, making each holiday a journey of growth and discovery.

Essay Sample on How i Spent My Christmas Holiday

december christmas

There was nothing to worry about, however. My mom’s old friend lives there, and she helped greatly in arranging matters. She was kind to inspect the apartment offers found on the Net. Her husband, who is a civil engineer, commented then on all the pros and cons in each case, so that we could make up our minds more easily. He also recommended a reliable van line – they delivered all the breakables we decided to transport safely. Not to pay too much for transportation, we thought it wiser to buy some of the furniture and major appliances when already at the new place.

And that’s where Christmas shopping campaigns (which I usually find too hectic to my taste) came in handy. Due to numerous discount offers, bonuses and other perks, such as free delivery, we managed to furnish our new home with nicest things without it costing us an arm and a leg. Of course, touring the shops took us not one day but ten, but every minute spent was definitely worth it. I was lucky to participate in it all – thus I had the better part of December off school (well, I just had to work harder for a while at my former school).

After we bought the necessary furniture and home appliances, Mom and Dad got busy with some minor repairs and redecoration. As for Christmas ornaments, they delegated this task wholly to me. Oh, how glad I was! I can say I love festive preparations not less than the celebration itself, so I set about the task with all my heart.

For inspiration, I went window-gazing every day; those walks were magical in and of themselves thanks to light snowfalls that lasted a week. The streets were beautiful; I also visited malls. I sauntered past shop windows, took snapshots of designs I liked, and then discussed them with Mom and Dad. We brainstormed the best suggestions, and next I went to collect supplies for the DIY-able things and buy some ready-made ornaments. After that, with time free from school at my disposal, I devoted myself to creativity. It was bliss – if I’d had to attend classes, like it was every December before, I wouldn’t have even half the opportunity to indulge in all the arts and crafts that I love. I made fabric accessories, felted and papier-mâché ornaments, bunting, table decoration, greeting cards and gift wrapping.

Apart from that, I gave a hand in redecoration, too. While Mom was busy cooking, Dad and I went on pasting new wallpapers, hanging curtains and light fixtures. After a few more days of work, we made another tour to stock on groceries (which was a bargain, too due to all the special offers); then all that was left was arranging the furniture, buying a Christmas tree, decorating the place and preparing dinner.

On December, 25 we invited Mom’s friends over to our place. We presented them with a set of designer ceramic vases for their beautiful home, and they gave us a fondue pot, some fine Belgian chocolate and a pound of delicious strawberries which we relished as well as our long chat that wonderful Christmas night.

Narrative Essay on How I spent my holiday

Holidays hold a special place in everyone’s life, offering a respite from the routine of daily tasks and providing an opportunity to explore, relax, and create unforgettable memories. This year, I decided to spend my holiday in a way that was both enriching and exhilarating. I ventured on a journey to a small coastal town, renowned for its pristine beaches, rich culture, and vibrant local life. This narrative essay unfolds the experiences, discoveries, and personal growth I encountered during my holiday.

The Journey Begins

My adventure commenced with the excitement of traveling to a place I had never visited before. The anticipation built up as I packed my bags, ensuring I had everything needed for a week of exploration. The journey to the coastal town was a scenic delight, with winding roads flanked by lush greenery and the occasional glimpse of the ocean’s horizon promising a serene escape.

Exploring the Coastal Town

Upon arrival, the beauty of the town exceeded my expectations. The air was filled with the salty breeze of the sea and the streets buzzed with the energy of daily life. My first day was spent wandering through the town, taking in the sights and sounds. I visited local markets, where I marveled at the craftsmanship of the artisans and indulged in the town’s culinary delights, tasting dishes that were a fusion of traditional recipes and the bounty of the sea.

The Heart of Nature

The following days were dedicated to exploring the natural wonders surrounding the town. I embarked on hikes through nearby trails, each revealing breathtaking views of the landscape. The highlight was a trek to a secluded beach, accessible only by a narrow path through the cliffs. The effort was rewarded with a serene beach, untouched by the hustle and bustle of tourist spots. Here, I spent hours swimming in the clear waters, reading under the shade of palm trees, and reflecting on the simple pleasures of life.

Cultural Immersion

My holiday was not just about relaxation but also about immersing myself in the local culture. I attended a traditional dance performance, where the rhythmic beats and expressive movements of the dancers told stories of the town’s history and folklore. I also participated in a cooking class, learning to prepare local dishes that combined fresh seafood with exotic spices, gaining not only culinary skills but also insights into the lifestyle and traditions of the people.

The Bond of Friendship

One of the most unexpected and rewarding aspects of my holiday was the friendships I formed. Whether it was conversations with local residents, sharing stories with fellow travelers, or the camaraderie with the host of my accommodation, these connections added depth to my experience. Through these interactions, I gained a richer understanding of the world from different perspectives, reminding me of the value of openness and the universal language of kindness.

Reflections and Realizations

As my holiday drew to a close, I found myself reflecting on the journey. Beyond the relaxation and enjoyment, it was a period of personal growth and learning. I had stepped out of my comfort zone, challenged myself to try new things, and embraced the unfamiliar. This holiday taught me the importance of slowing down, appreciating the moment, and the joy of discovering new places and cultures.

My holiday in the coastal town was more than just a break from routine; it was a journey of discovery, connection, and personal growth. It reminded me of the beauty of our world, the diversity of its people, and the shared experiences that bind us. As I returned home, I brought back not only souvenirs and photographs but memories that will last a lifetime and a renewed sense of adventure, ready to explore what lies beyond the horizon.

What Should I Consider Before Renting a Yacht in Côte d'Azur?

Yacht Rental Côte d'Azur

⛵ Understanding the Marine Ecosystem

It is of utmost importance to approach the sea with respect and consideration. One must remember that the waters of the Côte d'Azur are home to a rich and fragile marine ecosystem. A responsible yachtsman will take the time to understand the guidelines and regulations designed to preserve this delicate balance.

⛵ The Seasons' Whisper

The weather, ever a capricious performer in nature's orchestra, demands careful attention. The choice of when to set sail should be a mindful decision, accounting for the seasonal fluctuations, weather patterns, and water conditions. The late spring to early autumn offers a milder temperament, but one must be diligent in heeding the meteorological forecasts.

⛵ Selection of the Right Vessel

A yacht is more than a mere boat; it is an extension of one's journey through this maritime wonderland. It should be chosen with thought and precision, to suit the needs and comforts of the voyager.

Which Is the Best Yacht for Côte d'Azur Waters?

⛵ The Harmony of Design and Function

In selecting the most suitable yacht, one must consider the equilibrium between design and function. The rugged nature of some coastal parts requires a vessel of sturdy build and adept maneuverability. Yachts like the Sunseeker or Azimut range are renowned for their craftsmanship and performance, gracefully uniting the elegance of design with the rugged demands of the sea.

⛵ A Personalized Journey

The best yacht for these waters would be one that resonates with the individual's desires and needs. Be it a family gathering, a romantic escapade, or a solitary exploration, the vessel should be a harmonious extension of the experience. Many charter companies offer bespoke packages, allowing the guest to customize the adventure.

⛵ The Environmental Consideration

In this age, where the delicate balance of our ecosystems hangs precariously, it is essential to consider the environmental impact of our choices. Hybrid yachts, employing a fusion of traditional engines with electric or solar alternatives, represent a step towards a more conscientious interaction with our planet.

In conclusion, to traverse the waters of the Côte d'Azur by yacht is to partake in a living theater where nature's grandeur and human innovation play out a mesmerizing performance. It is an experience that requires thoughtful preparation, a keen understanding of the environment, and a profound respect for the sea and all its inhabitants. In so doing, one might find themselves not merely a spectator but a participant in a dance as ancient and profound as the waves themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cannes to St Tropez

Hopefully the heads are not too sore this morning! A lavish buffet breakfast will be laid out on the yacht’s sun deck when you wake. After breakfast, time for a quick swim before departing for your next destination, the infamous St Tropez . Cruising past the beautiful red rocks of the Esterel, the Captain will head past the town of St Tropez to what is perhaps the most famous stretch of sand anywhere in the world and certainly on the Cote d’Azur, St Tropez’s Pampelonne Beach !

Once the Captain has dropped anchor, the first thing that will become very obvious is that you are most definitely not alone. Pampelonne is one of the most popular superyacht anchorages for luxury yacht charters on the French Riviera, if not the entire world. Why are all these yachts here, you might ask? Yes the scenery is stunning, but it is in much of this part of the world. The answer lies on the shoreline and the thirty or so beach clubs that populate the 3 miles of sand that makes up Pampelonne Beach.

Pampelonne Beach - St Tropez Beach Club Guide

There’s a beach club at Pampelonne Beach to suit all tastes. Some of these beach clubs are incredibly flashy and loud, others much more modest and relaxed! We’ve decided to make reservations at the original St Tropez beach club, Club 55! Club 55 originated in 1955 when a small structure served as the onset canteen providing food to the cast and crew of “And God Created Woman” starring THE St Tropez icon, Brigitte Bardot! Over its’ sixty year history, Club 55 has become the definitive Cote d’Azur beach experience for many and is a fixture on almost every French Riviera yacht charter tinerary. Yes many of the guests are rich and famous, but the atmosphere that prevails here is one of a refined, casual discretion. Enjoy the fabulous Mediterranean cuisine of the Cote d’Azur in a chic yet relaxed environment.

As the sun begins to set, your charter yacht will head for St Tropez itself and its’ famous Old Port. If you’ve booked far enough in advance, you’ll head straight for your berth, if not then it’s highly likely that tonight your yacht will be at anchor just outside St Tropez harbour.

Not to worry, your charter yacht will have a fast and comfortable tender to ferry you ashore and back until the very early hours. Dinner could be taken on the yacht, or in town, at L’Opera perhaps.

After dinner, a visit to one of St Tropez’s incredibly hedonistic nightclubs is in order. Perhaps the VIP Room or Caves du Roy, or why not both!

St Tropez to Antibes

Time to head back east today towards the town of Antibes, the European capital of superyachts. On the way, the yacht will anchor just off the legendary  Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc , a palatial hotel on the Cap d’Antibes peninsula where all the stars stay during the Cannes Film Festival.

This hotel is considered by many to be the most luxurious hotel on the Cote d’Azur. Relax on deck and enjoy some water sports before the yacht heads into Port Vauban in Antibes . Once the yacht has docked, cars will be waiting to take you to the beautiful village of St Paul de Vence and more specifically to the restaurant La Colombe d’Or.

St Paul de Vence is a spectacular 14th century hilltop village and La Colombe d’Or is its’ true star. Eighty years ago, Paul Roux opened a modest restaurant in a 16th century village house.

Pool at Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc

Many famous artists who spent time in this part of France became regulars at the restaurant, including Chagall, Miro, Matisse, Renoir and Picasso. Often distinctly lacking in the wallet department, they settled their bills with pieces of art. Today, La Colombe d’Or boasts one of the world’s finest collections of 20th century art. It is also a great place to have lunch! A visit to the nearby Maeght Foundation is also a must for art lovers and one of the Côte d’Azur’s finest museums.

Late afternoon, head back to Antibes for a walk around the beautiful Antibes old town before returning to the yacht for drinks. Your yacht’s crew have been busy in your absence, preparing the yacht for a fantastic dinner this evening. If you’ve timed it perfectly, there will also be a spectacular fireworks display after dinner! Summer fireworks displays are a real highlight of the French Riviera yacht charter season. Bespoke Yacht Charter will provide you with a schedule of when these take place so you’ll be sure not to miss them.

Antibes to Cap Ferrat

After breakfast, the yacht will head for the magnificence of  Cap Ferrat  just east of Nice. This lush peninsula is home to some of the world’s most impressive and expensive waterfront villas! Once the anchor has been dropped, and after some swimming, you’ll have the option of lunch onboard or perhaps ashore at the highly recommended beach restaurant  Paloma Beach . In the afternoon, why not visit the spectacular  Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild , one of the most impressive and ornate properties on the French Riviera.

Yacht Weddings villas and yachts in Cap Ferrat

With mind-blowing views over the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, the nine amazing gardens that are open to the public are absolutely incredible. Early evening drinks will be enjoyed at the very impressive Grand Hôtel du Cap Ferrat from where you’ll then be driven to the 9th century village of Eze, perched 1,400ft above the Mediterranean sea below. Enjoy a walk through the narrow cobblestone streets before a very special dinner at the majestic Chèvre d’Or, one of the French Riviera’s finest restaurants. The night will be spent at anchor off Cap Ferrat.

Today, it’s off to  Monaco  which is just a short cruise from Cap Ferrat. But the first stop of the day will be the beach at Plage Mala on Cap d’Ail. A truly stunning bay, framed by towering cliffs, Plage Mala is one of the most secluded, lovely beaches anywhere on the Côte d’Azur. This really is a truly beautiful anchorage. Lunch ashore at either La Reserve de la Mala or Eden Plage Mala will be very enjoyable. This is also a great place to enjoy the toys onboard, especially the standup paddle boards! The views towards Monaco and back over Beaulieu-sur-Mer and Cap Ferrat really are magnificent, and paddling around the bay in total silence is truly the best way to appreciate the majesty of your surroundings!

Early evening and it’s time to come into port in Monaco. Monaco has two ports, each with its’own very distinct flavour. The Port de Fontvieille is laid back and relatively quiet, which appeals to those looking to relax. But as we are going for the ultimate French Riviera yacht charter experience during this week, there is only one place to be on a charter yacht in Monaco, and that’s the main port, or Port Hercule as it’s known. The Port Hercule is like an amphitheatre, framed to the west by the the old town of Monaco (the rock), to the north by scores of apartment blocks rising up to meet the mountains and to the east by the glitz and glamour of Monte-Carlo.

Everyone knows Monaco’s Port Hercule as it is of course the location of the Monaco Grand Prix, the event for which this small Principality in southern France is best known. Every year, the world’s finest drivers push themselves to the limit, racing their cars around the narrow streets of Monaco, something these machines where never designed to do and you’ll see why! As you enter Monaco, many of the famous parts of the circuit will be instantly recognisable from the deck of your yacht, Rascasse, Tabac Corner, the Swimming Pool and the Tunnel. In fact, it is highly likely that your charter yacht will actually be berthed on what is the Monaco Grand Prix circuit!

Panoramic view of charter yachts in Monaco port

Tonight is going to be all about glamour, so what better way to begin than with a glass of champagne on your charter yacht, the brightly coloured lights of Monte-Carlo sparkling all around you. It’s only a short walk or taxi ride up the hill to Casino Square, home to Monaco’s legendary Casino de Monte-Carlo. Monaco is famous for two things above all, the Monaco GP and the Monte-Carlo Casino, and it’s only fitting that your first night in Monaco takes place around this magnificent temple to gambling. As you enter Casino Square, you can’t help but admire the splendour of the architecture. To your right stands the legendary Hotel de Paris, to your left, the Cafe de Paris, and it is here that the evening really kicks off with drinks at this world famous people watching spot.

Directly in front of you, you’ll see your restaurant for dinner tonight, Bespoke Yacht Charter’s recommendation is Alain Ducasse at the Hotel de Paris (previously the Louis XV). After a spectacular dinner, how about a drink or two at legendary Monaco nightspot Jimmy’z or perhaps try the new kid on the block, Twiga owned by former F1 team boss and restaurateur, Flavio Briatore.

The next day is spent on the yacht anchored off Monaco, sunbathing, swimming and tearing around the bay on the jet skis.

Monaco is also a great place to ask the charter yacht’s crew to get all the towable toys out and have some real fun. Lunch is taken by the pool at the Monte-Carlo Beach Hotel. In the afternoon, perhaps a game of tennis at Monte-Carlo Country Club, or if that’s not your thing, why not visit Le Rocher and the Prince’s Palace or the Oceanographic Museum?

For dinner, if you don’t want to eat onboard, then try Nobu on the roof of the Fairmont Hotel. Exquisite Japanese dining with the most incredible views of Monaco, the sky and the sea!

Monaco to Portofino, Italy

Your charter yacht left Monaco shortly after you returned from dinner last night and when you wake up this morning, you’re in Portofino, Italy! Portofino is a beautiful fishing village with a twist and one of the most attractive places in this part of Italy. After breakfast, spend the morning exploring the shops in Portofino, or enjoy yourself out on the water. There are numerous beautiful walks all around Portofino. Lunch will be served onboard today, and don’t eat too much, as you have a really special dinner lined up for this evening. In the afternoon, why not take the tender and explore some of the other towns and villages around Portofino, such as Santa Margherita. As it gets dark, cars will arrive to take you for a truly memorable last dinner at the fabulous Hotel Splendido, perched high above Portofino, offering fine dining and even finer views!

Portofino to Nice or Monaco

Enjoy your last breakfast onboard your charter yacht as you cruise back to the south of France and Monaco or Nice to disembark from your French Riviera yacht charter.

Cote d’Azur Yacht Charter

Experience the glamorous and beautiful South of France, the perfect place to embark on a memorable yacht charter.

Why charter a yacht on the Cote d’Azur

One of the world’s favourite playgrounds, the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur) is a region of natural beauty, chic shopping, charming hilltop villages and busy marinas.  Of the most popular luxury destinations in the world, the Cote d’Azur yacht charter reputation extends beyond a summer playground for the rich and famous. 212 Yachts will help you uncover the charm of this region whether you desire renting a motor yacht, sailing boat or day tender.

Chartering a yacht on the Cote d’Azur is a must-do experience. The region has great accessibility with Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, heliports at major marinas and excellent public transport links. The extensive coastline is diverse and picturesque. From sandy beaches to sheer coastal cliffs, secluded coves for anchoring and ample berths at full-service marinas, a Cote d’Azur yacht charter certainly has it all.

From the late-19 th century onwards, the French Riviera found great appeal with writers, poets, painters and royalty who were attracted by the beautiful Mediterranean light and a lifestyle of indulgent je ne sais quoi . Today, yacht charter guests on the French Riviera will find ornate churches, vibrant fishing villages, hilltop towns with quaint art galleries, Belle Époque architecture and hearty Provencal cuisine. The French charm of olive tree groves in perched villages or locals playing boules in town squares is a juxtaposition to supercars in Monaco or luxury fashion boutiques in Cannes or St Tropez.

Charter Yachts on the French Riviera

The French Riviera boasts a diverse range of yachts available for charter, catering to various tastes and preferences. Whether you’re seeking luxury mega-yachts or something more intimate, the choices are abundant. Haute cuisine during your Cote d’Azur yacht charter

Foodies will find much to savour on the Cote d’Azur with Mediterranean cuisine featuring ingredients such as garlic, lemons, figs, and chestnuts used liberally in fine dining establishments or traditional bistros.  You’ll find Michelin restaurants clambering for their next star to fresh seafood served ‘ocean to plate’ in a matter of minutes at beachfront cafeterias.  Whether you fancy pasta in Nice or bouillabaisse in Marseille, your taste buds will awaken with French Riviera food.

After hours, there are plenty of night time options – join the locals at a trendy wine bar, try your hand with Lady Luck at the Casino de Monte-Carlo or spend an evening at one of Europe’s top nightclubs in Monaco or St Tropez. Regardless if you choose to drop anchor off the Îles d’Hyeres on a bareboat sailing holiday, rent a luxury motor yacht for a Cannes event or explore the coastline from St Tropez to Monaco on a crewed superyacht – this is the Cote d’Azur at its finest.

Explore the beautiful towns, swim in picturesque inlets, discover that new portside restaurant or travel inland on a shore excursion to a Provencal vineyard, olive oil mill, perfume factory or antiques market.

Yacht Charter Cote d'Azur

A luxury yacht charter on the Cote d'Azur provides a superb way in which to explore this fascinating and beautiful area. One can explore a unique mixture of old latin culture and architecture, modern facilities able to cater for the world’s finest charter yachts and the Cote D'Azur coastline, as varied as it is stunning.

In 1887 Stéphen Liégeard  published his book "La Côte d’Azur"  (literally translated into English meaning "The Azur Coast") referring to the stunning and unusual "Azur" blue colour of the sea. The name "Cote D'Azur" caught on (to others it is known as the "French Riviera") and since then this stunning stretch of Mediterranean coastline at the southeast corner of France between the Italian border and St Tropez has attracted the wealthy, aristocratic, artistic, pleasure seeking, jet set and become the leading superyacht charter destination in the World.

There are a number of natural yacht charter destinations on the Cote D'Azur all with quite different surroundings and atmosphere including Monaco Antibes Cannes and St Tropez, whilst the proximity of the Italian Riviera Corsica and Sardinia also ensures that the Cote D'Azur is an ideal base from which to explore these famous yacht charter cruisng grounds.

Consult Yacht & Villa’s yacht charter team for an individual yacht charter itinerary for luxury Cote D'Azur boat rental cruising created exclusively for you. Our yacht brokerage department also offers a selection of yachts for sale .

Destinations

Cote d'Azur

The Côte d’Azur, otherwise known as the French Riviera, has been synonymous with chic elegance and lofty living for well over a century; however, its heydey was during the 1950s and ’60s, when practically everyone who was anyone seemed to have upped sticks and bought a duplex apartment along its pebble-strewn shores.

The breathtaking beaches on the Côte d'Azur are one of the region's greatest draws. There are many distinct sandy and pebbly beaches in the area, some of which are connected with beautiful beach clubs and others of which offer more serene and natural surroundings. While taking in the spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, beachgoers can indulge in swimming, watersports, and sunbathing.

It’s still a playground for the rich and beautiful, especially at stylish resorts such as Nice, Cannes, St-Tropez, and, of course, the epitome of extravagance, Monte Carlo, but less well-heeled visitors will find plenty to entertain them too.

The region served as a source of inspiration for many well-known artists, transforming it into a vibrant cultural hub for art. Explore the plethora of museums and galleries, or stop by locations and settings where numerous renowned artists have made references.

Spend your days soaking up the culture and lingering over long lunches. Elsewhere, there are the perfumed streets of Grasse, the balmy beaches of Menton, and the history-stained cobbles of Frejus and St-Raphael to explore.

yacht mieten cote d'azur

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. I know Prague well because I lived there when I was at university, more than ten years ago.

Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. It was so much fun, and a little bit like my old life. I wanted to do all the same things I did in my university days, so I visited the university. It has changed a lot and looks more modern. I also went to the supermarket near my old house. I loved seeing all the different foods. I was really happy to find my favourite cheese and chocolate biscuits but they were a bit more expensive than I remember!

We did some touristy things too. We walked up beautiful Petrin Hill and around the castle. The views of the city are amazing up there. We walked across the historic Charles Bridge. My friend's flat is very near the TV Tower so we saw the famous baby statues climbing up it. Those things haven't changed, of course.

I want you to know that I am very happy and enjoying my vacation quite a bit. The destination on this vacation has been the Colombian Caribbean coast, We arrived two days ago, this is a very nice experience. Yesterday I discovered the window to the world that is located in Barranquilla, as well as the boardwalk, they are very warm places but above all very visited, as the afternoon fell I went to visit some of my husband's brothers. Tomorrow we will get up very early to travel a few kilometers and be able to visit Cabo de la Vela, in La Guajira, we will leave at 6 am, because we must be in Uribia Guajira at 3 pm, there the tour guide will be waiting for us, who will be the one in charge of directing this adventure. I also had the opportunity to visit Cartagena de Indias and its beautiful beaches, I really liked getting to know the beach, the sea and the people who live there, But what I liked most was being able to visit Cabo de la Vela and learn a little about the reality of the Wayuu culture, being able to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and sunsets that this beautiful place offers.

My last was holiday three-week trip to Fez in Morocco. Fez it’s my hometown so I know it well because I lived there for 26 years. I went to visit my family there and I stayed at home, every day I was invited by my sisters and brothers, they made me delicious dishes and we had a good time together. I’ve been seeing my friends every day in the café, we’ve been seeing football matches and we’ve been talking about different topics. In this holiday I made many things important for me, I had driving courses to be confident when I’m going to buy a car, in the same time I had English courses.

My last holiday was a three-day trip to Thua Thien Hue in Vietnam. I always want to go there, so in the summer of last year, I decided to take a trip to Hue with my family.

We booked a small hostel near Hue Walking Road. We stayed in a twin room, which was clean and had full amenities. The owner was very friendly; he showed us good restaurants, attractions, and how to deal with sellers in the market. We tried local foods such as Bun Bo Hue, Banh Xeo, Banh Bot Loc, etc. The food in Hue is cheap and amazing; I thought that I could eat it all day!

We did some touristy things too. We visited Hue Capital and had a chance to learn more about Vietnam's history. The architecture is very majestic and beautiful. We also went to Thien Mu Pagoda. It is one of the most sacred temples in Vietnam, so we prayed for health and happiness and wished everyone good luck. In the evening, we walked across the historic Trang Tien Bridge. It was so beautiful at night; there were a lot of people walking there.

It was three amazing days. I felt so relaxed and hope to visit more places in Vietnam.

My last holiday was a two-day trip to Baguio in the Philippines. I had lived there before for five months. So I decided to go back for just a visit on my holiday. Unfortunately, there was heavily raining as we got off the bus. Otherwise, getting a taxi was super hard, and we were waiting for around an hour. Fortunately, I got home safely and I made so much fun with my friends. I visited the old places that I often did because it made me happy and refresh. In conclusion, I had so much fun spending my last holiday in Baguio.

I remember last year when I went with friend to the beach in summer. My Lastsummer holidays was 2days and 3 nights trip to Ngwe Saung Beach in Myanamr . Ngwe Saung, is a beach resort located 48 km west of Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. In 2014, the town of Ngwesaung had 10,732 people. The beach is 5hours drive with no traffic away from the principal city of Yangon. Ngwe Saung is well know for An unspoilt 15 kilometres stretch of silvery sand and modern amenities have made Ngwe Saung a popular destination for less budget conscious tourists from Lower Myanmar. I booked for our stay at a hotel near the beach, name was "Grand Paradise Hotel ". My friend and i prepared everything we needed on our trip as light food and soft drinks to have on the way to the hotel. And also we prepared necessary clothing for the sea, sun cream and some essential medicines. After 5hours of driving we arrived the hotel at 12PM afternoon and went to our rooms to rest change clothes and take all what we need to go to the beach. This Hotel is near the beach, all services was good and room are cleaned, wide and nice. We put our bags on the table and went to swim in the sea and then went out for lunch that my friend ordered from a fish restaurant . The Crab ,Lobster and fish was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed our meal very much. After lunch we sat under the canopy enjoying the sea view, refreshing breaths ,listening to music and playing fun games. OH really nice Ngwe Saung beach Myanamr.

My last holiday was far away in time in different reasons. We were at black sea coast on September so there where not so much other people. We was drinking a wine that was cheap there and going some excursions

My last holiday. Last summer, in particular on the last weekend of June, I decided to visit Granada, an amazing city in Spain. I visited Granada for the second time with my family, my wife, and two daughters. I was so happy because I visited Granada sights, especially Alhambra Palace, and Civilization Museum. We arrived at the hotel by bus at 11 a.m. The hotel was wonderful and clean, and the food they offer was delicious. My family really liked the traditional typical dishes of Granada, in particular the dish named Baella. During the holiday, I met some of my Spanish colleagues and they invited us to visit their house which is located in a nice village in the city suburb. Really, I liked this place for the large landscape, calmness, and the kind people who live in. On the fifth day of our holiday, we walked around the city and saw the old city which has been built above the mountain. So, you can see the whole city from above it. Despite the enjoyment that we have got, the negative thing about that holiday was that we spent so much money and also many friends need to buy some things from there, so I bought some souvenirs and I hope that I can keep one for myself to remind of that divine place. By and large, this holiday was great and unforgettable thanks to my Spanish friend, Gaspar, who provided me with a Guidebook which makes my trip easy and coy.

My last holiday was four days on São Miguel dos Milagres with my family. We stay on the beach house of my grandpa. There is a pool, and four rooms in that. There we go to the beach, to some interesting restaurants, to a beach clube and to an ice cream shop. I love that travel and i'd love go back to São Miguel dos Milagres.

On the first weekend in March, we took an amazing trip to Barcelona. We went by train from Atocha station and the journey lasted two and a half hours.

When we arrived at the historic Barcelona Sants station, we took the metro to Plaza de Tetuan, which is where we had the apartment. We left our baggage and went to visit the city centre, Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, La Boqueria Market, Paseo de Gracia, etc. On Sunday, we saw the beautiful Sagrada Familia which is my favourite landmark. Later, we went to the incredible Nou Camp stadium to see the Barça game against Valencia. After the game we visited the official store and did some shopping but everything was very expensive. On Monday, before returning to Madrid we went back to the Nou Camp to take a guided tour of the trophy room, changing rooms, benches, and the VIP box.

At the end, we went to the apartment to take the suitcases and so, we took the metro to the Sants station where we boarded the high speed train back to Madrid.

I go to Thailand for a camping holiday, It was fun I go caving on the first day, I see many bets are sleeping on top of the cave.(no time to finish)

Write a Letter to Your Friend about How You Spend Your Christmas Holiday [With PDF]

In this article, I’ll teach you how to write a letter to a friend explaining how you enjoyed your Christmas holiday. If you’re asked to write a letter on the same subject, these examples will come in handy. So let’s dive into the examples right now.

Feature image of Letter to Your Friend about How You Spend Your Christmas Holiday

Question-1: On the account of Christmas you went to your father’s native place. Write a letter to your friend describing the way you celebrated Christmas.

Hints: How did you spend your Christmas – How was Christmas for you all together – How many gifts you got

45, Halasuru, Bangalore 560008, December 27, 2021.

Dear friend,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and embracing the Christmas season. I adore the joy and hope that this wonderful Festival evokes. This year, I spent Christmas with my paternal family. On Christmas eve, I went to the village church for the morning mass. I wanted to see all the lovely places around because my father had always discussed the scenic beauty of the city.

Living in nature made me feel rejuvenated. I also stayed on my uncle’s houseboat in the backwaters for a night. For a long time, it had been a long-held hope. Next Christmas, we can all go to my father’s hometown and take in the sights.

Please express my best wishes to your parents and Kiki. Please answer as soon as possible. I’m intrigued as to how you spent your Christmas. Stay safe.

Yours lovingly, Chaya.

Question-2: On the account of Christmas you went to Darjeeling with your cousins. Write a letter to your friend describing the way you celebrated Christmas.

Hints: How did you spend Christmas – Where did you go this year – Anything new you experienced

9/2, Shanti Nagar, Bangalore 560027, December 28, 2021.

Since I was away from home for a week, your letter had been waiting for me in our letterbox. You know, I’d always liked to go to Darjeeling, a lovely location in India. So when my cousins decided to spend Christmas with us, I was overjoyed.

We took the Toy Train to Darjeeling and stayed in a hotel for a week. We began heading out for sight-seeing on the first day. The scenic scenery of the mountain trees, tea plantations, and the sky-kissing top of the snow-covered Kanchanjungha enchanted me greatly. We went to the aquarium, the Victoria Falls, and the Lebong race-course, which is the world’s highest race-course.

The ropeway from the North Point to the Rangit Valley was also visible. We went to Tiger Hill one morning, where we had a fantastic view of the sunrise. It was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for both of us. The Mall was another appealing location where we strolled in the afternoon. I can never forget the charming and refreshing beauty of Darjeeling.

Today is the last day. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and send my best wishes to your parents.

Yours lovingly, Malika.

Question-3: On the account of Christmas you spent with your family. Write a letter to your friend describing the way you celebrated Christmas.

Hints: What did you do on Christmas – Did you spend Christmas with your family – Did you get any gifts

10/2, Vinayaka Nagar, Bangalore 560017, December 30, 2021.

How are you? I am doing well and hope you are in the same boat. This holiday was fantastic for me and it was more enjoyable than most holidays at the time. I had a wonderful time, and it was even better because I was with my dad. Normally, you know how tedious the holidays are for me, but this time was a lot of fun and different. I decorated the tree on Christmas Eve. I and my parents watched a Christmas Princess movie and it was a nice family time. We exchanged the gift with each other. My mother’s cookies and Christmas pudding were both delicious.

All about Christmas appeals to me. I’ve been missing you terribly and it would be wonderful if we could spend Christmas together. Tell me about your Christmas Eve and what you did on Christmas Day.

Yours lovingly, Trisha.

Question-4: On the account of Christmas you spent in Ooty and experienced Bonfire for the first time. Write a letter to your friend describing the way you celebrated Christmas.

Hints: How did you spend Christmas – Where did you go this Christmas – What did you do this Christmas

I hope you are well today as you get this message. You asked me to tell you about my Christmas celebrations. This year, I went to Ooty for the first time and saw a bonfire for the first time.

Ooty is one of our country’s most beautiful hill stations. The Queen of Hill Stations, as it is known. Many people advised us to visit Ooty because of its cool weather and beautiful scenery. We scheduled a two-day trip to Ooty and reserved a week at a lodge. The cool temperature and beautiful natural scenery are the main draws. We gathered around the bonfire late at night singing several lovely folk songs as well as Christmas carols. It would have been a lot of interesting if you had been there. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Eve as well.

Today is the last day of my letter. Send my best wishes to Uncle and Aunty, as well as plenty of love to Kammu.

Yours lovingly, Sonam.

Here I showed you a couple of examples of how to write letters to your friends about your Christmas celebrations. I hope you got a lot out of this session. Christmas is the most celebrated holiday in the world. Discover our helpful guide that you can use to write essays about Christmas.

Christmas is known to many as the birthday of Jesus Christ, the central figure of Christianity. However, the festival has become more secular over the years and is celebrated by most people regardless of religion. Every December 25, something magical happens.

To most people, Christmas is “the most wonderful time of the year.” People celebrate, gather at a friend or family member’s house, feast, and open gifts. Whether or not you celebrate it as a religious holiday, the feelings of warmth, joy, and nostalgia that Christmas evokes are universal and meaningful to all.

1. the magic of christmas by erin, 2. the possibility of a merry covid christmas by sarah begley, 3. my christmas experience by elliot johnson.

  • 4.  A personal reflection on Christmas by Jo Betz
  • 5. Christmas traditions around the world by Becky Such

6 Prompts for Essays About Christmas

1. what is christmas to you, 2. the history of christmas, 3. a christmas tradition, 4. christmas in your home country, 5. christmas in non-christian households, 6. why is christmas the most celebrated holiday.

“Although, a few years later, I found out that he was not real, the magic of Christmas still remains. I realized that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, and this is something I hold close to my heart. With our family’s traditions and celebrating Jesus’ birth, the magic of Christmas will always be real for me.”

In this short essay, Erin reflects on her family’s Christmas traditions, particularly during her childhood. She recalls the food, music, and different practices of many Christmases ago; in particular, she remembers the magic of Santa Claus and how she wished to see him one day. She eventually found out Santa wasn’t real, but that did not take away the magic of Christmas from her. She still treasures Christmas and anticipates it yearly.

“Maybe we will come roaring back with great excesses in the holiday season of 2021; it’s hard to imagine now, but who knows? Meanwhile, we can resolve to do something together. We can seize this unwanted opportunity to reimagine everything — to tell a new story about what the season of togetherness means for our country, our homes, and our relationships. In a time that requires distance, we can find new modes of closeness. In a year of austerity, we can rethink the purpose of wealth. And in a period of great uncertainty, we can decide what’s most meaningful about shared rituals.”

Begley discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic affects the way we celebrate Christmas. We cannot have big family gatherings, travel, or attend big religious services as we used to, as guidelines discourage us from doing so. In addition, the declining economy is leaving more families with fewer resources to celebrate Christmas. This Christmas, it may be hard to be happy and celebrate for some, but Begley encourages us to use this time for introspection and to hope for better.

“In the end, although every family has flaws, and always seems to have a political divide in it, the family is the most special part of Christmas, just like it is for Thanksgiving. Family is one of, if not the most important things in life, and it is very important to stay close to one’s family and all of its members, and that is what Christmas is, and always will be to me.”

In his essay, Johnson gives a brief overview of Christmas and discusses his attitude toward the celebrations in his household. He remembers how as an introvert, he had to interact with many people and how he needed to give up his room for guests to sleep in. However, Johnson greatly appreciates Christmas for being able to unite and bring together a family of very diverse views and perspectives.

4.   A personal reflection on Christmas by Jo Betz

“My daughter and I purchase a Christmas decoration each year for my husband to put on the tree. It’s something that brings us joy as we select the decoration we think he’d love. But there are other ways you can honour your loved one too – light a candle, write them a letter, purchase them a present, share stories about them on Christmas day. Find a way to honour the person you are missing so much.”

Betz reflects on how the death of a loved one, in this case, her husband, can make it difficult to enjoy Christmas. However, being with her daughter allows her to appreciate the holidays through all the pain. She gives people in a similar situation tip on how to cope, including not keeping such a big “to-do” list, honoring your loved one, and allowing yourself to grieve. You might also be interested in these essays about autumn .

5. Christmas traditions around the world by Becky Such

“Christmas trees were decorated with candles and topped with an angel or star, to remind children of the angel that brought ‘news of great joy’ to the shepherds in the fields, or the star that guided the ‘Three Kings’ to Bethlehem. In modern times, we’ve kept the star or angel topper, but dropped the candles. Covering a dry tree in lit candles was, of course, a massive fire hazard. Pretty silly of those Victorians if you ask me.   Today, Christmas trees are decorated with tinsel, fairy-lights and small, hanging ornaments – the joy and brightness of the Christmas tree is still a great reminder of Jesus as the ‘Light of the World’.”

In her essay, Such describes some Christmas traditions from different countries, including different pastries and sweets, fireworks, lanterns, and the iconic Christmas tree. Then, she explains the differences in Christmas celebrations worldwide and how these traditions have evolved.

Essays About Christmas: What is Christmas to you?

Christmas has a different significance for each person. First, reflect on the meaning of Christmas; think of what your family and friends have told you, what you learned in school, and your thoughts. Next, discuss any religious, cultural, or family traditions that have influenced how you view Christmas. Finally, open up to your readers about the true meaning of Christmas. Perhaps Christmas means spending time with family and friends or giving back to the community. Whatever your viewpoint, share it in this essay.

For your essay, research how Christmas originated and how the festival has changed over the decades. Explain how it came about and the differences between Christmas celebrations over time. As with all historical essays, cite credible, well-researched sources for an accurate essay.

Essays About Christmas: A Christmas tradition

Think about a tradition you have practiced for many Christmases with family, friends, or the greater community. What does it entail? Explain your chosen tradition in detail and reflect on its significance.

Christmas is celebrated differently from country to country, with climate, religion, culture, and demographics affecting its importance in each. Based on personal experience and research, write your essay about how Christmas is celebrated in your country. Explain the traditions, the food eaten, and the history behind the Christmas celebration.

Early Christians originally conceived Christmas as a festival to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, but it has become more secular over the years. A large number of non-Christians celebrate it. Based on research, write about how non-Christians celebrate Christmas and why they do so. If you have personal experience with this, incorporate what you know into your essay.

Whenever the word “holiday” is mentioned, Christmas automatically comes to mind for most. In your essay, look into what makes Christmas so popular: Why do people treasure it so much, and why do more people celebrate it than other holidays? Be sure to use credible sources as the basis for your essay.

The winter holidays are an exciting time of year filled with fun traditions, tasty foods, and quality time with family and friends. Last December, my family and I took a holiday trip that I will never forget. In this essay, I will share some of the highlights from my December holiday. I will discuss our travels, the special celebrations we enjoyed, and what I learned from the experience.

Short Essay On My December Holiday

Travel plans.

As part of our holiday preparations, my family researched different destinations to visit over our school break. After much debate, we settled on a one-week road trip along the coast of California (Topic Sentence). For the first part of our journey, we packed up our suitcases and snacks and embarked on an eight-hour drive from our home in Northern California down to Los Angeles (Transition). Hitting the road for long periods of time can be tiring, so we listened to Christmas music and audiobooks to pass the time and keep our energy up. Taking breaks to stretch our legs at scenic overlooks also helped the drive feel shorter.

Arrival (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); in Los Angeles

Upon arriving in LA, our first stop was checking into our hotel for a few nights of exploring the city (Topic Sentence). We spent one afternoon at Disneyland, enjoying the festive decorations and riding our favorite attractions like the teacups (Example). On another day, we toured Hollywood Boulevard and snapped photos beside the handprints of famous movie stars at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Our hotel was located near the Santa Monica Pier, so one evening we strolled along the beachfront shops and played amusement park games for prizes (Example). Los Angeles was bustling with holiday cheer and offered the perfect mix of activities to start our winter getaway.

Christmas Eve in San Diego

After a few enjoyable days in Los Angeles, we packed up and continued on to San Diego for Christmas Eve (Transition). We checked into a cozy hotel downtown and walked nearby to see the iconic San Diego Zoo all lit up for the night (Topic Sentence). What really stood out was attending midnight mass at a historic Spanish church near our hotel. It was a beautiful service with traditional carols and readings about the nativity story that put me in the Christmas spirit (Example). For dinner, my family cooked up a feast of tamales, potatoes, and fruit salad in our mini kitchen before exchanging gifts by the fireplace (Example). Spending quality time together made it feel just like Christmas, even though we were on vacation in a new city.

Our December holiday trip up and down the California coast was full of wonderful new experiences and memories. I learned that holidays are about more than presents or fancy meals—they are a chance to appreciate your family through shared moments of laughter and bonding (Topic Sentence). The natural scenery, festive celebrations in cities, and time unplugged from technology refreshed my mind and spirit. Looking back, that one special week created lasting memories that I will cherish for many years to come. I am grateful that my parents planned such a meaningful getaway for our family during my winter school break.
