“Nice feeling, ok food” Review of Aist

It is one of my favourite restaurants in Moscow and it is practically just outside my door. What I appreciate is more the feeling in this restaurant than actually the food. Never disappointed, but the final touch is seldom there. The sushi menu is better than most and price worthy. Wine ridiculously expensive. Overall not the cheapest place on earth, but it's also not expected. Could be good for this restaurant with a renewal in the kitchen. Summer roof top veranda and especially the entrance level veranda is one of the nicest in Moscow.

Know the place very well, but never been for breakfast. The food is excellent, but service is extremely slow: 10 mins to place order, 10 minutes then waiting for juice, another 10 minutes to get food. In our case it was even worse with food - they brought it outside, we were sitting on veranda, and left the food on the tray for another 5 minutes or so. So food got cold, but waiters were somewhere, slowly administrator recognized it herself and brought our dishes. But there were no forks and spoons served yet, after more than 30 minutes sitting at the table!! She brought them fast but anyway it's disorder in the process, something should be done with it. Everyone knows Aist is not for fast dining but this was too much even for them!!

We were only two in the party and had an outdoor table under the heating lamps. We had great buchetta's, risotto finally followed by lam. Everything was great presented nicely and with attention from the waiter. As alway wine is a bit expensive in Moscow - we had a nice Sancerre les caillottes. A vey enjoyable evening and I am sure I will be back and bring my family

I have walked past this restaurant on many occasions but not been in before. The menu is varied with many offerings for both starts, soups and main course, and all of our guests really enjoyed what they had. I had the rib-eye, and it was in the top 3 of any I have ever tasted, and was cooked to perfection (I asked for extra pepper sauce and would suggest you do the same:)) We were there on a Wednesday, so it wasn't so busy, but even so the atmosphere was good and the service was excellent. It was a little expensive, but the food, wine and service justified the bill at the end of the night.

Master franchise company, RJ Corp, that runs PepsiCo’s second-largest bottling plant outside the US, Varun Beverages, and Devyani International that runs KFC, Pizza Hut and Costa Coffee outlets in India, is looking into the next generation to take on the mantle. Ravi Jaipuria, Chairman of the $3 billion-RJ Corp, formalising the succession plan, has given the food and beverages business to his son, Varun, while the daughter, Devyani, has been given charge of the healthcare and education side.

According to a report in the Economic Times, Ravi Jaipuria told the financial daily that the succession planning of the conglomerate has been established, including a roadmap for Varun and Devyani to take on strategic leadership roles. He added that the daily operations would be run by the professionals as usual.

He will remain the chairman of RJ Corp, as well as oversee growth, policies, expansion and diversification. The 70-year-old billionaire said that the framework was envisaged with stability and continuity, as well as the addition of fresh perspectives into new leadership. The succession plan allows his children, Varun and Devyani, to focus on the broader strategic initiatives and long-term vision.

Jaipuria said that the professional team will continue to be central to the strategy, and that the blend of professional management and strategic leadership is key to driving RJ Corp forward.

WHAT VARUN AND DEVYANI JAIPURIA WILL GET

Varun Jaipuria, 36, has been given charge of Varun Beverages and Devyani International. Varun Beverages and Devyani International, named after the siblings, are listed.

Devyani Jaipuria, 39, has got the healthcare businesses, including hospital chain Cocoon, Delhi Public Schools in Gurugram and Jaipur, along with DPS International School in Gurgaon and Dharav High School in Jaipur.

Varun Beverages bottles and distributes PepsiCo beverages like Pepsi, Mirinda, 7UP, Mountain Dew fizzy drinks, Sting energy drink, Tropicana juice, Slice juice, and Aquafina water. It has 45 manufacturing facilities and operates in nine countries, including South Africa, Morocco, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Devyani International runs KFC, Pizza Hut and has exclusive franchise of Costa Coffee, homegrown chain Vaango, and Food Street brand that runs food courts in malls, airports, highways and hospitals. It has its presence in Nepal, Nigeria and Thailand.

RJ Corp’s healthcare vertical includes Cryovia Biotech that provides umbilical cord blood stem collection, processing and storage. It operates in Thailand, Singapore, West Asia, Nepal, Vietnam and east Africa.

DPS, DPS International, Pravaah, Modern Montessori International London are part of its education vertical.

'We hear you': New restaurant owners plan to return former Ottawa Beach Inn to comfort food

HOLLAND — Several months after Playa Tacos and Tequila was listed for sale, a new restaurant is moving in.

Reservoir will have an Italian-focused menu, including seafood and pizza. The plan is to open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with late night options, plus vegetarian and vegan dishes.

New owners Corina Sepsakos and her husband Vasilios also own Brick and Porter and Brickyard Tavern in Grand Rapids.

Sepsakos said the couple signed the lease on the space March 1 and have been working ever since. The goal is to open in late May. Hiring will begin in the coming weeks.

Sepsakos says the restaurant plans to cater to locals during the off-season.

"We hear you,” she said. “You miss Ottawa Beach Inn. We are all ears for what you missed ... and we will put it on the menu. It will be comfort food.”

Ottawa Beach Inn closed in early 2022 in preparation for an extensive renovation and rebranding as Playa Tacos and Tequilas after owner River and Odi Hospitality Group decided the restaurant needed a new look and concept to stay competitive.

In December 2023, Playa announced plans to close for the winter season. Two months later, the restaurant was on the market, along with others owned by River and Odi in Saugatuck.

Sepsakos said Reservoir will cater to all ages. There are plans for a fun, interactive experience, giving children the chance to make their own pizza at the table, plus "dirt cups" and more.

“People who go camping in the summer are families,” Sepsakos said. “We want to appeal to (them)."
