ముత్తు (రజినీకాంత్) రిటైరైన పోలీస్ అధికారి. ఆయన కొడుకు అర్జున్ (వసంత్ రవి) తండ్రి బాటలో పోలీస్ అవుతాడు. అతను ఒక విగ్రహాల రాకెట్ ను ఛేదించే క్రమంలో పెద్ద మాఫియాతో పెట్టుకుని కనిపించకుండా పోతాడు. అర్జున్ చనిపోయాడన్న సమాచారంతో హతాశుడైన ముత్తు.. అతడి చావుకు కారణమైన వారిలో ఒక్కక్కరిని మట్టుబెట్టడం మొదలుపెడతాడు. ఈ క్రమంలోనే ముత్తు ఎంత పవర్ ఫుల్ అనే విషయం అందరికీ తెలుస్తుంది. ఐతే విగ్రహాల మాఫియా ముత్తుకు భయపడి.. అర్జున్ చనిపోలేదని.. తమ దగ్గరే బందీగా ఉన్నాడని వెల్లడిస్తుంది. అతను ప్రాణాలతో బయటికి రాావాలంటే అత్యంత విలువైన ఒక కిరీటాన్ని తెచ్చి తమకు ఇవ్వాలని ముత్తుకు కండిషన్ పెడుతుంది. ఈ స్థితిలో ముత్తు ఏం చేశాడు.. కొడుకును ఎలా కాపాడుకున్నాడు.. చివరికి ఏమైంది అన్నది మిగతా కథ.

కథనం-విశ్లేషణ:

సూపర్ స్టార్ రజినీకాంత్ అంటే ఒక అసాధారణమైన హీరోయిక్ ఇమేజ్ ఉన్న హీరో. ఆ ఇమేజ్ ను సరిగ్గా వాడుకుని.. ఆయన పాత్ర ఎలివేట్ అయ్యేలా చూసుకుంటే.. కథాకథనాల్లో కూడా కొంచెం బలం ఉంటే.. థియేటర్లు హోరెత్తిపోతాయి. కానీ చాలా ఏళ్ల నుంచి ఆయన్ని సరిగ్గా వాడుకుంటున్న దర్శకుడే కనిపించడం లేదు. కబాలి.. కాలా సినిమాల్లో రజినీ ఇమేజ్ కు సూటవ్వని కథల్లో ఆయన్ని చూపించే ప్రయత్నం బెడిసికొట్టగా.. ఆ తర్వాత వచ్చిన చిత్రాల్లో రజినీని స్టైలుగా చూపించి.. ఫ్యాన్ మూమెంట్స్ పెట్టారే తప్ప కథల్లో పెద్దగా విషయం లేకపోయింది. రజినీని మామూలుగా చూపించినా కష్టం. అలా అని ఆయన పాత్రను విపరీతంగా ఎలివేట్ చేసి.. కథల్లో విషయం లేకున్నా ఇబ్బందే. ఇలాంటి సమయంలో నెల్సన్ దిలీప్ కుమార్.. కొంతమేర ఈ రెండు విషయాలనూ బ్యాలెన్స్ చేయడానికి ట్రై చేశాడు. రజినీ గత సినిమాలతో పోలిస్తే ఆయన ఇమేజ్ ను నెల్సన్ బాగానే వాడుకున్నాడు. ఒక దశ వరకు రజినీ నుంచి అభిమానులు కోరుకునే మూమెంట్స్.. దానికి తోడు నెల్సన్ మార్కు కామెడీతో ‘జైలర్’ బండి సాఫీగానే సాగిపోతుంది. కానీ కొంచెం కథ చెప్పాల్సి వచ్చాకే నెల్సన్ తడబడ్డాడు. ఇటు రజినీ పాత్రను ఎలివేట్ చేయలేక.. అటు తన మార్కు కామెడీనీ పండించలేక గాడి తప్పాడు. రజినీ గత సినిమాలతో పోలిస్తే ‘జైలర్’ బెటరే కానీ.. ఇది కూడా పూర్తి సంతృప్తినిచ్చే సినిమా అయితే కాదు.

రజినీకాంత్ వయసిప్పుడు 72 ఏళ్లు. ఈ వయసులో కూడా ఆయన్ని నవ యువకుడిలా చూపిస్తే.. ఆయన వీర లెవెల్లో ఫైట్లు చేస్తే.. ఒక్క దెబ్బకు వంద మందిని కొట్టి అవతల పడేస్తే.. చూడ్డానికి ఎబ్బెట్టుగా ఉంటుంది. సూపర్ స్టార్ నుంచి అభిమానులు ప్రధానంగా ఆశించేది హీరోయిక్ ఎలివేషన్లే అయినప్పటికీ.. పైన చెప్పినట్లు నేల విడిచి సాము చేస్తే చూడ్డానికి అంత బాగోదు. ఐతే నెల్సన్ ‘జైలర్’లో ఎలివేషన్ సీన్లు చాలానే పెట్టాడు కానీ.. అవి ఎబ్బెట్టుగా లేకుండా చూసుకోవడం విశేషం. రజినీ రంగంలోకి దిగి నేరుగా ఫైట్లు చేసి.. రౌడీలను చితగ్గొట్టేస్తున్నట్లు కాకుండా ఆయన్ని అలా కూర్చోబెట్టి.. నిల్చోబెట్టి.. ఇవ్వాల్సిన ఎలివేషన్ ఇచ్చేశాడు. ఈ వయసులోనూ రజినీని సూపర్ స్టైలిష్ గా చూపించాడు. చిన్న స్మైల్.. చిన్న లుక్ తోనే రజినీ అభిమానులను కట్టి పడేశాడు. పైకి హీరో మామూలుగా కనిపిస్తుంటాడు.. కానీ అతడిలో ఇంకో కోణం ఉంటుంది.. అది బయటికి వచ్చినపుడు అవతలి వాళ్లు తట్టుకోలేరు.. ఇది సౌత్ ఇండియన్ సినిమాల్లో దశాబ్దాలుగా సూపర్ హిట్ ‘ఎలివేషన్’ ఫార్ములా. దీనికి మూలం మూడు దశాబ్దాల కిందటి రజినీ సినిమా ‘బాషా’. ఇప్పుడు ‘జైలర్’లో సైతం నెల్సన్ అదే ఫార్ములాను అప్లై చేసి రజినీ పాత్రను ఎలివేట్ చేయడానికి.. అభిమానులను ఉర్రూతలూగించడానికి ప్రయత్నించాడు. చాలా వరకు ఇలాంటి మూమెంట్స్ బాగా వర్కవుట్ అయ్యాయి. రజినీ ఎక్కువ హడావుడి చేయకుండా.. నెల్సన్ శైలికి తగ్గట్లు సటిల్ గా యాక్ట్ చేస్తూ తన పాత్రను పండించే ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు.

కొంచెం నెమ్మదిగా మొదలయ్యే ‘జైలర్’.. రజినీ పాత్రలో రెండో కోణం మొదలయ్యాకే ఊపందుకుంటుంది. నెల్సన్ గత చిత్రాల్లో మంచి వినోదం పండించిన యోగిబాబు.. వీటీవీ గణేష్ ‘జైలర్’కు కూడా బాగానే తోడ్పాటు అందించారు. ఓవైపు రజినీ మార్కు ఎలివేషన్స్.. ఇంకోవైపు నెల్సన్ శైలి కామెడీతో ఫస్టాఫ్ వేగంగా సాగిపోతుంది. సగటు కమర్షియల్ సినిమా నుంచి ఆశించే వినోదంతో ‘జైలర్ ప్రథమార్ధం పైసా వసూల్ అనిపిస్తుంది. ఇంటర్వెల్ వరకు బోరింగ్ మూమెంట్స్ అంటూ పెద్దగా లేవు. ఎక్కడైనా కొంచెం ఊపు తగ్గిందనిపించినా.. రజినీ చరిష్మాకు అనిరుధ్ బ్యాగ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ తోడై ‘జైలర్’ను ముందుకు తీసుకెళ్లాయి. సినిమాకు జైలర్ అనే టైటిల్ ఎందుకు పెట్టారు.. అసలీ ముత్తువేల్ పాండ్యన్ (రజినీ పాత్ర పేరు) అనేది చూపిస్తూ సెకండాఫ్ లో ఒక చిన్న ఫ్లాష్ బ్యాక్ ఎపిసోడ్ పెట్టారు. అందులో యంగ్ లుక్ లో రజినీని చూసి మెస్మరైజ్ అవ్వాల్సిందే. ఆయన మేకప్.. స్టైలింగ్ అంత బాగా కుదిరాయి. తక్కువ నిడివిలోనే ముత్తువేల్ ఎంత పవర్ ఫుల్లో చూపించారు. ఐతే ఇక్కడిదాకా ‘జైలర్’ బండి సాఫీగానే నడిచింది కానీ.. ఆ తర్వాత మాత్రం పట్టు సడలింది.

హీరో ఏకపక్షంగా అనుకున్నదంతా చేసుకుపోతుంటే.. ఇంక కిక్కేముంటుంది? విలన్ కూడా పవర్ ఫుల్ గా ఉండి.. పెద్ద సవాల్ విసిరితే.. దాన్ని హీరో అధిగమిస్తేనే కదా మజా. ఇక్కడే ‘జైలర్’ తేడా కొట్టేసింది. హీరో ముందు విలన్ బలహీనంగా అనిపిస్తాడే తప్ప.. అతణ్ని ఛాలెంజ్ చేసేలా కనిపించడు. హీరోను అంత పవర్ ఫుల్ గా చూపించాక అతడికిచ్చిన టాస్క్ చిన్నదిగా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఒక కిరీటం చుట్టూ నడిపిన కథ పూర్తిగా తేడా కొట్టేసింది. ఇంత పెద్ద సినిమాలో ఆ కిరీటం కథ చిన్నదిగా అనిపిస్తుంది. సునీల్.. తమన్నాల చుట్టూ నడిపిన ‘షూటింగ్-లవ్’ ట్రాక్ తేలిపోయింది. కొంతసేపు రజినీ కూడా సైడ్ అయిపోవడంతో ‘జైలర్’ బాగా బోర్ కొట్టించేస్తుంది. నెల్సన్ మార్కు కామెడీ కూడా వర్కవుట్ కాలేదు. క్యామియో రోల్ లో మోహన్ లాల్ వచ్చినా చలనం కనిపించదు. ఒక 40 నిమిషాలు ‘జైలర్’ ప్రేక్షకుల సహనానికి పరీక్ష పెడుతుంది. మళ్లీ ప్రి క్లైమాక్సులో రజినీ పైకి ఫోకస్ షిఫ్ట్ అయ్యాక కానీ ఊపు రాదు. పతాక సన్నివేశాల్లో మళ్లీ ఎలివేషన్లు వర్కవుట్ అయ్యాయి. రజినీ క్లైమాక్సులో మెస్మరైజ్ చేశాడు. కేవలం రజినీని చూసి మురిపిపోతామంటే.. ఆయన మార్కు ఎలివేషన్లు చాలనుకుంటే ‘జైలర్’ చూసేయొచ్చు. కానీ అంతకుమించి మరీ ఎక్కువ ఆశించలేం.

రజినీలో వేగం తగ్గింది.. ఆయనపై వయసు ప్రభావం స్పష్టంగా కనిపించింది. అయినా సరే ఉన్నంతలో బెస్ట్ లుక్ లో కనిపించారు. తన చరిష్మాతో అభిమానులను మెస్మరైజ్ చేస్తూనే సగటు ప్రేక్షకులను కూడా ఆకట్టుకున్నారు. ఈ సినిమాలో ఆయనది వన్ మ్యాన్ షో అని చెప్పొచ్చు. రజినీ స్టైల్.. ఆయన మార్కు ఎలివేషన్లకు కనెక్ట్ అయితే ‘జైలర్’ చాలా వరకు ఎంగేజింగ్ గా అనిపిస్తుంది. రజినీ తన వయసుకు తగ్గ పాత్రలలోనే కనిపించారిందులో. పాత్రల ప్రాధాన్యం.. పెర్ఫామెన్స్ పరంగా మిగతా వాళ్లందరూ సోసోగానే అనిపిస్తారు. విలన్ పాత్రలో వినాయకన్ మెరిశాడు. ఐతే ఆ పాత్రను ముందే కామెడీగా మార్చేయడంతో రజినీకి దీటైన విలన్ లాగా అనిపించడు. రమ్యకృష్ణ పాత్రకు ప్రాధాన్యం తక్కువే. ఆమె నటన ఓకే. రజినీ కొడుకు పాత్రలో వసంత్ రవి పర్వాలేదు. యోగిబాబు.. వీటీవీ గణేష్ కొంత మేర నవ్వించారు. వాళ్లను పూర్తిగా వాడుకోలేదు. శివరాజ్ కుమార్.. మోహన్ లాల్.. తమన్నా.. సునీల్.. వీళ్లందరివీ అతిథి పాత్రలే. వాళ్ల వాళ్ల పరిధిలో బాగానే చేశారు.

సాంకేతిక వర్గం:

సంగీత దర్శకుడు అనిరుధ్ రవిచందర్ లేకుంటే ‘జైలర్’ చాలా బలహీనంగా అనిపించేదేమో. రజినీ మీద తన అభిమానాన్నంతా చూపిస్తూ.. ఆయన పాత్రను ఎలివేట్ చేస్తూ అనిరుధ్ ఇచ్చిన బ్యాగ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ సినిమాకు అతి పెద్ద బలం. ఏమీ లేని చోట కూడా ఏదో జరిగిపోతున్నట్లు అతడి ఆర్ఆర్ ప్రేక్షకులకు భ్రమలు కలిగిస్తుంది. హుకుం.. కావాలయ్యా పాటలు కూడా హుషారు పుట్టిస్తాయి. ‘కావాలయ్యా’ వచ్చిన సందర్భం అంత బాగా లేదు కానీ.. ఆ పాట మాత్రం అలరిస్తుంది. విజయ్ కార్తీక్ కన్నన్ ఛాయాగ్రహణం కలర్ ఫుల్ గా సాగింది. నిర్మాణ విలువలు సన్ పిక్చర్స్ స్థాయికి తగ్గట్లు గ్రాండ్ గా ఉన్నాయి. రైటర్ కమ్ డైరెక్టర్ నెల్సన్ దిలీప్ కుమార్.. ‘బీస్ట్’ తర్వాత బెటర్ ఔట్ పుట్ ఇచ్చాడు కానీ.. తన తొలి రెండు చిత్రాల స్థాయిలో మాత్రం రైటింగ్ దగ్గర పనితనం చూపించలేకపోయాడు. కథ పరంగా రొటీన్ అనిపిస్తుంది ‘జైలర్’. కథనంలో బిగి లేదు. రజినీ చరిష్మాను అతను బాగా వాడుకున్నాడు. అభిమానులు కోరుకున్న విధంగా సూపర్ స్టార్ ను ప్రెజెంట్ చేశాడు. కొన్ని చోట్ల కామెడీ పండించాడు. అంతకుమించి దర్శకుడిగా గొప్ప పనితనం అయితే చూపించలేదు.

Behind the Movie Tupaki: While AR Murugadoss has a brand value in Andhra Pradesh, it is the presence of Vijay which could keep the hype surrounding this project a bit low. However, it is too late for a review from our side and sorry for that. Let us see, whether this 'Tupaki' has enough ammunition in it to trigger the BO or not?

In the Movie Tupaki: Jagdeesh (Vijay) is an intelligent Indian Army Officer off to Mumbai to enjoy a vacation. Family of Jagdeesh is in hunt for a right bride and they find Nisha (Kajal Agarwal) as an apt match. Although reluctant early, once Jagdeesh understands the real side of Nisha, the love track deepens. In this mean time of romance, accidentally Jagdeesh happens to bump into a sleeper cell terrorist in a local bus. Into action, Jagdeesh teams up with his old batchmates to upset the terrorist plan of 12 serial bomb blasts planned in Mumbai. Frustrated by this, the Master mind and terrorist head behind (Vidyut Jamwal) enters into scene to take it face to face with Jagdeesh. Did Vidyut's plan to lay a trap for Jadgeesh was successful? Was Jagdeesh enough talented to put an end to sleeper cell network forms the rest.

Values of the Movie Tupkai: The one invaluable quality AR Murugadoss blessed with is, his knack of commercializing aky kind of subject. In fact, none could have made this kind of gripping action thriller with a simple sleeper cell terrorist concept which isn't touched in depth by any director in India. The kind of hold Muruga has on screen-play writing was evidential throughout the second half. Our Telugu audience would easily forget that we are watching a Tamil to Telugu dubbed film because of the intensity packed. Meanwhile, the romantic track weaved into the story is actually a weak thread which distrubed the actual soul and feel. Cinematography of Santosh Sivan is just top notch and Sreekar Prasad could have been better in the boring love track. After enjoying extra-ordinary tunes and exhilarating back-ground from Harris Jayaraj, we expect much more than this. Dialogues were just okay. Production values of Gemini FIlm Circuit and SVR Media are worth appreciable.           

Performance wise, Vijay's character has been underplayed for major time and that has become the blessing in disguise. Compared to past flicks like 'Snehithudu,' the way Vijay directed his energies into simple yet stylish action episodes made him a winner. Next in the list comes is Vidyut Jamwal. Utilizing the biggest of opportunity offered, Vidyut's muscular body and handsome looks give a new flavor to villainsm. The less we speak, it would be more better about Kajal who is just portioned for songs and romance. Of the remaining we can only remind, Sathyan and Jairam who were just fit to their comic portions. 

Out of the Movie Tupaki: The best memories which striked my thoughts watching 'Tupaki' were about Venkatesh's 'Gharshana.' Director Muruga has cooked a recipee which is similar to Gautham. Yet, both are different in their own versions. Scripts like 'Tupaki' need more of the hardwork on visualization. When you are presenting the same on screen in the form of mind games between antagonist and protagonist, viewers should feel the goose bumps else your attempts go in vain. When we have some one like Muruga leading from front, even the expression face like Vijay too becomes engaging. Same happened here and Vijay might find some part of his dream to form a market in Tollywood will be fulfilled. 

While first half is a bit entertaining with romantic track, introduction to sleeper cells in Mumbai, narration changes the gear and suddenly we get too much involved into the bloodshed of pre-interval episodes. Then second half is entirely the magic of Murugadoss while the tasteless love episodes and placement of songs pulls down the anxiety. So, overall the graph goes up and down till a much more desired climax.

Commercially, 'Tupaki' might be a profitable project in Tamil because of Vijay factor. When target audience for this kind of action thrillers form a low minortiy core, it is difficult to anticipate on where the Telugu version will land. For regular audience, think before getting in and for hardcore Muruga admirers, don't miss this. He has got ammunition right this time.

Tupaki (Telugu) Reviews - Critics give thumbs up

Telugu Industry has always been very welcoming to our Tamil heroes, including Rajini, Kamal, Suriya, Karthi, Vikram, Jiiva and Vishal all having a market and solid hits to their credit. Among the leading heroes in Tamil, Vijay, Ajith and Simbu have not be able to give a Rs.10 Crore+ grosser in Telugu so far. Tupaki  (Telugu dubbed version of Thuppakki)  may finally be able to give Vijay the much awaited lucky break in Telugu. Thanks to good reviews and lack of competition (since much-hyped Anushka and Nagarjun starrer  Damarukam expected to release on Diwali was delayed for the third time due to financial reasons ), Tupaki  has taken the spot light and expected to bring in good collections in Andhra Pradesh . 

Let's look at the excerpts from media reviews and see what Telugu critics are saying about Tupaki and Vijay's performance,

• Post Noon gave thumbs up for Tupaki and rated it 3.5/5. The review concluded it’s won’t blow your brains away, but it’s definitely worth watching. Reviewer Hemant called Vijay as the backbone of the film and thought he was fabulous as an army officer. 
• 123Telugu rated it 3.5 out of 5 and called the movie hits the bulls eye. The final verdict was "A stylish Vijay, some exceptional thrilling moments and  edge  of the seat action makes this film surely worth a watch. Finally, one can say that yet another Tamil hero has successfully managed to capture the hearts of Telugu audience."
• Tupaki hits the target called GreatAndhra with a rating of 3/5. It went on to say the film stands as a platform for Vijay's career in Tollywood. This is not a Diwali Thupaki but a real one with ample bullets in it. 
• Jeevi of Idlebrain rated it 3.25/5/ and said AR Murugadoss who disappointed with 7th Sense strikes back with Tupaki. This popular reviewer also appreciated Vijay for being suave and sophisticated in the role that need brains. 
• Gulte.com complimented Vijay for doing a neat job as the lead man and went on to say "despite having no image in Andhra Pradesh, people would love to see him as the lead. His sweet yet powerful performance is the reason for it. Vijay is yet to score a hit in Telugu and this time he has every chance to register his first success." 

Based on the unanimous positive reviews from public and media, Tupaki in all probability should give Vijay a strong entry into Telugu market.

GV Prakash's 'Dear' Getting Released In Telugu On 12th April!

Whilst being a music composer, he is also doing films as a hero in tamil too. some of his films get dubbed in telugu as well..

Young music composer GV Prakash Kumar is known for his soulful music. He delivered a lot of super hit albums in Tamil and the dubbed songs were massive hits in Telugu as well. The star composer always comes up with melodious tunes and trendy tracks. He had given some beautiful tunes for Telugu movies like 'Darling', 'Ullasanga Utsahanga', 'Ongole Gitta' and 'Sir'.

Whilst being a music composer, he is also doing films as a hero in Tamil too. Some of his films get dubbed in Telugu as well. He is now coming up with a family quirky comedy-drama titled 'Dear'. Anand Ravichandran is the director and Varun Tripuraneni, Abhishek Ramisetty, and G Pruthviraj of Nutmeg Productions Pvt. Ltd. are the producers. The original version of 'Dear' will be released in Tamil on 11th April while the Telugu version will hit the screens on 12th April.

Talented actress Aishwarya Rajesh is the heroine in this movie. The theatrical rights for the Telangana region is acquired by Asian Cinemas while Annapurna Studios bagged the theatrical rights in Andhra. With such big names involved, the movie is sure to get a big release across the Telugu states.

The two songs which got a good response in Tamil are soon going to be released in Telugu states too. Hero GV Prakash Kumar scored the music of his own film. Jagadeesh Sundaramurthy is handling the cinematography. Kaali Venkat, Ilavarasu, Rohini, Thalaivasal Vijay, Geetha Kailasam and Nandini are playing key roles in this movie. Let us see if this film manages to impress the audience or not.

A film named Razakar has hit the screens today. Yata Satyanaraya directs it. Let’s see how it is.

India gains independence from the British in 1947, but Hyderabad, which is the largest princely state, remains an independent kingdom under the control of the Nizam Of Hyderabad a.k.a Mir Osman Ali Khan (Markhand Deshpande). The Nizam of Hyderabad refuses to sign the accession agreement and opts for a one year standstill agreement with the Union Of India. A paramilitary army force named Razakars, formed by Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, is controlled by Qasim Razvi (Raj Arjun) during that period. Qasim Razvi lends his full support to the Nizam of Hyderabad and they infuse terror among Hindus with their atrocities. What happens later is what Razakar is about.

Plus Points:

If you are someone who haven’t heard about this genocide that happened during the Nizam rule, you will be shell-shocked after watching the movie. The atrocities against lots of Hindus and the forceful religious conversions will send chills down your spine, as they are shown in a gut-wrenching manner without any inhibitions. There are many hard-hitting moments and one would surely walk out heavy hearted.

Even if you have known about this exodus, you will still be invested in the film, as there is a lot of detailing that has gone into the writing. This is the best part of Razakar, as the writing team did a thorough research in documenting the trauma undergone by many innocent souls. Operation Polo carried out by the Indian Army to annex Hyderabad from the Nizam rule is sure to give you goosebumps.

Often, we would have heard stories describing the greatness of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in uniting the country. This film will give you more clarity regarding the kind of role Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had played in making Hyderabad a part and parcel of India. The film is clear in what it conveys. It doesn’t target any religion and it only highlights the atrocities committed by the Nizam and Razakars against common people.

Raj Arjun is the show stealer of Razakar and he performs Qasim Razvi’s role to the tee. We feel like hitting him right in the face and that’s the level of performance he has delivered. Markhand Deshpande as the Nizam Of Hyderabad is brilliant and so is Tej Sapru as the Iron Man Of India. Bobby Simha, Anasuya, Vedhika, Indraja, and others gave compelling performances. The second half is more gripping with many key moments.

Minus Points:

The first half is all about the depiction of Razakars’ brutality against Hindus and here the pacing is a bit slow. A few scenes are repetitive and the narrative could have been better.

Razakar is a film made with utmost honest and if someone expects entertainment this movie might not be their cup of tea. The atrocities and heinous acts are shown in a no-holds-barred manner and these visuals might be distributing for a few.

Technical Aspects:

Music by Bheems Ceciroleo is impactful. Cinematographer Ramesh Kushendar neatly depicted the angst of the affected people. The makers pulled off a high quality film within a limited budget and kudos to their efforts. The VFX was good and the production design team did a superb job in recreating the bygone era. The set works are fantastic.

Director Yata Satyanarayana showed conviction in bringing a heinous genocide on to the screen. The film is informative, heart-wrenching, and also does it portray the bravura of many unsung heroes who fought against the monarchy. The director can go a long way in his career if he comes up with more such good films.

On the whole, Razakar is an honest depiction of the heinous genocide that took place in Hyderabad province during the time of Nizam. The film is sure to leave you shocked with its horrifying facts and neatly documents the ordeal of common people. The film will blow away the minds of those who don’t know about Razakars. Performances are very good and the film is rich technically. The first half is slightly slow, with some repetitive scenes, but the second half grabs our attention every minute. Those interested in knowing about history can watch this film this weekend.
