Eligibility for PhD Admissions 2022-23

(i) Stage 1: Objective type Screening Test: All candidates without UGC/CSIR-NET/JRF/GATE/Teacher Fellowship/MPhil Degree will appear in an objective type screening test, to be conducted by the University through NTA.

(ii) Stage 2: Essay type Written test and Interview: Candidates clearing NTA's objective type screening test, and all candidates irrespective of UGC/CSIR-NET/JRF/GATE, will appear in an essay-type written test of 40 Marks, followed by interviews of 10 Marks to be conducted by the Department.

(iii) Teacher Fellowship/MPhil Degree Holders are exempted from Stage 2 written test, however, they need to appear for an interview of 50 Mark.

(iv) Merit will be prepared for final admission as above.

The total number of students applying for undergraduate courses stands at 3,52,520.

Candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the courses.

The Delhi University will close the application window for Postgraduate, MPhil and PhD courses on August 21, Saturday. The online registration process started on July 26, Monday. Candidates, who are willing to apply, must visit the official website http://www.du.ac.in/ of the varsity at the earliest. As per the registration status on the University’s website, more than 25,00 students have applied for the M.Phil and PhD programmes. For post-graduate courses, close to 1.6 lakh applicants have enrolled themselves. The total number of students applying for undergraduate courses stands at 3,52,520

Candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the courses. Applications that do not meet the criteria will be rejected. Before applying for a course, students should keep all the documents handy and they will be asked to enter the basic details.

In an official notification, the University had said, “Students can apply for any number of courses being offered by us but they will have to apply for each course separately as registration fees for every other course is different.”

Delhi University Admissions 2021: Registrations for PG, MPhil/PhD courses to begin today; check details at du.ac.in

If candidates want to apply for more than one PG course then they will have to pay separate fees for each course while only one registration form can be filled

The registration process for admission to Delhi University’s (DU) postgraduate (PG) courses will start today, 26 July. Once the process starts, interested candidates can visit DU’s official website du.ac.in to register themselves. Along with PG programmes, the admission process for PhD and MPhil courses will also begin today. The last date to submit application forms is 21 August. Once the process begins, students can follow these simple steps to apply for DU PG courses 2021:

Step 1: Visit the official DU website, du.ac.in Step 2: Open the ‘DU PG Admission 2021’ link available on the homepage Step 3: On the new page, click on the ‘Registration’ tab Step 4: Register yourself by entering the required details and save the user id and password Step 5: Now, log in using the credentials and fill the application form for admission to the selected PG course Step 6: Upload the documents, pay the fee and submit the form Step 7: Save a copy of the filled form and take a printout for future use or reference (if required)

If candidates want to apply for more than one PG course then they will have to pay separate fees for each course while only one registration form can be filled. MPhil/PhD aspirants have to fill a common Registration Form. After submission, fees will not be refunded in any case. As per the press release, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) 2021 for all PG, MPhil, and PhD programmes. The varsity will soon announce the DUET dates.

The agency will hold all entrance tests through Computer Based mode. DU, this year, is planning to increase the number of test centres for the entrance exam.

Delhi University admission 2021 LIVE Updates: UG registration starts on August 2, PG on July 26

The Delhi University said that the UG registration will begin on August 2 and the last date for applying is August 31. While, PG registration along with DUET, will start on July 26 and will end on August 21.

The Delhi University on Saturday announced the dates of registrations for its undergraduate and post-graduate programs for the current academic year, which has been delayed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Rajeev Gupta, Chairperson, admission, told The Indian Express , “Admissions will be completely online. Starting from registration to payment of fee everything will be online. All trial-based admissions (sports+ ECA), also online. Like last year, everything will be completely based on certificates.”

Computer-based Help Desks in the form of Chat-Bots and emails will also be available 24*7 to answer queries of the candidates.

The Admission Branch is planning to organise webinars and upload tutorial videos to help candidates throughout the admission process. Announcement of these webinars will be published on the University website from time to time.

The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) has been ruled out for admissions this year.

Keeping in mind the unprecedented situation, for students' convenience, fee structure and eligibility criteria will remain the same as last year. Colleges have been asked not to get students to fill any additional forms.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualifying Examinations

• The criteria for qualifying examination for each of the M. Phil & PhD Programs is given in Annexure-VII and Annexure-VIII respectively.

Equivalence Criteria

• The Departments/Colleges of the University may advise the candidates concerned, wherever necessary, to get recognition/equivalence of their degrees/ diplomas/ certificates authenticated from the Association of Indian Universities/University Grants Commission/AICTE/Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) on his own for the purpose of admission in the Department/College
• Further, the cases of equivalence of degrees /certificates /diploma may then be put up before the University Authorities for further consideration and confirmation

Reservations

• Reservation of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) to the prescribed extent shall apply in compliance with the rules notified by the University
• Supernumerary seats shall be available for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Foreign Nationals as per the University rules

How to Apply?

Online Registration

• All the candidates seeking admission to the M.Phil/PhD Program are required to register online.
• The admission of the candidates for the M.Phil Program is governed by the Ordinance VI, VI-A, VI-A-(1) and VI-A-(2) of the University of Delhi [see Annexure-XI]
• The Ordinance VI-B of the University of Delhi [see Annexure-XII] governs admission of the candidates for the PhD Program
• Admission to M.Phil/PhD Program is through written examination, followed by an interview. Applicants seeking admission in PhD Programs shall go through “Section C (Procedure for Admission)” of Ordinance VI-B [see Annexure-XII] to check if they are exempted from appearing in the written exam. However, Interview is mandatory for all applicants.
• An applicant shall also provide details of the “Research Proposal” for seeking admission in M.Phil/PhD Programs in certain Depts. Applicant must go through Annexure-V (for M.Phil.) and Annexure-VI (for Ph.D.) to check if the “Research Proposal” is mandatory for the applied Program
• Applicant shall be asked to upload the following items: (i) Passport size photograph of the applicant (maximum size: 50kb; Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG); (ii) Scanned signature of the applicant (maximum size: 50kb; Formats: JPG/ JPEG/ PNG); (iii) Self attested copy of Identity Proof of the applicant (maximum size: 50kb, Formats JPG/ JPEG/ PNG). Identity proof can be any one of the following documents: Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN card, Voter’s identity card, Passport or College identity card.

Registration Fee

• Registration Fee (non-refundable) for the written examination is the following:
• For SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) – Rs.300/-
• For all other categories (Unreserved, OBC etc) – Rs.750/-
• Registration fee has to be paid during online registration process through one of the available online payment options
• Admit Card’s download link shall be available after June 2021 (closing date of online registration). Please visit the M.Phil/PhD admission portal for news and updates related to the Admit Card and on the admission procedures
• Candidate shall take the printout of the Admit Card. The print quality of the Admit Card should be good enough for verification.

• Written examination shall be conducted at the Centres located in the following cities – Bengaluru, Delhi, Jammu, Kolkata, Nagpur and Varanasi

Delhi University commences postgraduate admissions. Details here

The Delhi University (DU) on Thursday, April 25, commenced the registration process for postgraduate admissions (PG) based on Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2024 scores, reported  The New Indian Express . The online application process is underway on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal and can be accessed through the official website at  admission.uod.ac.in . It is to be noted that the process will remain open till May 25. 13,500 seats for postgraduate admissions Officials have stated that for this academic year's admissions, a total of 13,500 seats for postgraduate programmes have been allocated which includes the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board, with 120 seats allocated for BTech, and 60 seats each designated for BA LLB and BBA LLB courses. Courses such as MA Hindu Studies, MA Public Health, MA Chinese Studies, MA Korean Studies, and Master in Fine Arts will also be included under this year's PG admissions. After the end of the PG registration, the university would further publish the initial allocation list (round 1). Candidates will be required to confirm their assigned seats.
