The Case Study of Vanitas Season 2 anime TV series could continue the story of the vampire Noe and Vanitas. But since the anime’s first season caught up with the manga in March 2022, when will Vanitas no Carte Season 2 come out?
The studio and main staff making The Case Study of Vanitas Season 2 has not yet been announced.
For the first season, the anime TV series was produced by Studio Bones. In 2021, Studio Bones also released Netflix’s Godzilla: Singular Point anime and the Sk8 The Infinity anime (a sequel has been announced, but it’s unclear whether it’s Sk8 The Infinity Season 2 or a movie project).
The company is divided up into multiple studios, lettered A through E.
My Hero Academia Season 6 and 2021 My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission movie were produced by Studio C. Mob Psycho 100 was produced by Studio B, which will be working on the Mob Psycho 100 Season 3 anime now that it’s been confirmed to be in production.
Bones Studio A worked on Godzilla Singular Point before moving on to the Vanitas anime project.
The Vanitas anime project was helmed by director Tomoyuki Itamura. His previous work included directing Monogatari and working as an episode director on the Puella Magi Madoka Magica anime series ( Magia Record Season 2 and Madoka Magica movie 4: Walpurgis no Kaiten were both confirmed in 2021).
Writer Hitomi Mieno wrote the series composition. She’s best known for her work on the Noragami anime series. In recent times, she has worked on Assassin’s Pride , Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town? , Pokemon Journeys, The Dungeon of Black Company , and Tanmoshi: The Detective Is Already Dead .
Tomoyo Nakayama ( Demon Lord, Retry! ) and Yoshiyuki Itou ( Fullmetal Alchemist , Soul Eater, Space Dandy) were both character designers, with the latter also acting as the chief animation director. Composer Yuki Kajiura (.hack, Aldnoah.Zero, ERASED, Fate/stay night, Demon Slayer , Madoka Magica, Pandora Hearts, Sword Art Online) wrote the music.
The Case Study of Vanitas Season 2 OP (opening) and ED (ending) theme song music hasn’t been announced yet.
For the first season, The Case Study of Vanitas OP was “Sora to Utsuro” by sasanomaly, while the ED “Zero” was performed by LMYK. The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2 OP “Your Name” was performed by Little Glee Monsters, while the ED “Salvation” was performed by MONONKVL.
The Case Study of Vanitas Season 2 release date may be over the horizon, but the wait for the second season wasn’t too bad.
Like most split-cour anime, Vanitas was confirmed to be taking a broadcasting break for three months, which meant Vanitas Part 2 was released on January 14, 2022, the Winter 2022 anime season.
What’s a split-cour, you might ask? For those unfamiliar with the lingo, a “cour” is a three-month block of TV broadcasting based on the physical seasons, usually composed of 10 to 13 episodes.
A “split-cour” is where a single anime season takes a multi-month break before resuming TV broadcasting. Recent examples would include That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2 Part 2 , Moriarty the Patriot Part 2 , Re:ZERO Season 2 Part 2 , Mushoku Tensei Part 2 , and Attack On Titan Season 4 Part 2 (Shingeko no Kyojin’s final anime story arc is not called Attack On Titan Season 5 ).
There are rare cases where a split-cour anime series will officially label the second part as a second season. For example, 86 Part 2 was announced in advance, but when the first part ended, it was announced that the continuation would be considered the 86 Season 2 anime TV series.
In this case, The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2 should be considered part of the first season since all 24 episodes are already numbered. The official website confirmed ahead of time that the second season would be a split-cour anime with 24 episodes in total released as eight Blu-Ray/DVD volumes.
(Hence, the future anime continuation would not be considered The Case Study of Vanitas Season 3.)

Vanitas no Carte Season 2 release date predictions: A long wait is necessary
As of the last update, Aniplex, Square Enix, Studio Bones, or any company related to the production of the anime has not officially confirmed The Case Study of Vanitas Season 2 release date. Nor has the production of a Vanitas sequel been announced.
Once the news is officially confirmed, this article will be updated with the relevant information.
In the meantime, it’s impossible to speculate about when, or if, the Vanitas no Carte Season 2 release date will occur in the future.
The Case Study of Vanitas reviews have been very good, with scores for Part 1 hovering slightly above average for a good anime. Vanitas Part 2 scored even better thanks to the strength of the Beast of Gevaudan story arc, never mind the Mikhail arc, and manga fans have been mostly happy with the adaptation thus far.
Even if the anime is financially successful, the problem is that anime completely caught up with the source material. It’ll be at least several years before the monthly manga has enough new chapters for a single-cour second season.
And that’s assuming the next story arc is not longer than the Beast of Gevaudan. It’s possible that the story arc adapted by Vanitas Season 2 will require more chapters for a good stopping point. As such, anime fans should be prepared for the long haul since we shouldn’t expect to hear anything for at least three to four years.
The Case Study of Vanitas manga compared to the anime
The story for the anime is based on The Case Study of Vanitas manga series by creator Jun Mochizuki (Mochijun). She is best known for creating the Pandora Hearts manga series, which was also adapted into an anime TV series.
The Vanitas manga started serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker in December 2015. By June 2021, the manga was up to Volume 9, which includes up through Chapter 51.
The author announced a The Case Study of Vanitas hiatus in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The creator was concerned for the safety of her assistants who needed to commute to work. The break lasted for six months, and there was no indication that the creator or her assistants were infected by the virus.
The official English translation is being published by Yen Press in North America. The English The Case Study of Vanitas manga is digitally published online on Yen Press’ website , with new chapters available concurrently with the Japanese release.
The physical volumes are delayed in comparison, with new volumes usually coming out at least six months after the Japanese release. The English version is up to Volume 8 as of May 2021.
During Aniplex Online Fest 2021, the producers of the TV show discussed the character designs and their approach to the animation. They mentioned how the characters’ facial expressions and interactions were vital to the storytelling, especially considering how dynamic a complex character like Vanitas can behave.
In adapting the manga, Studio Bones has remained faithful to the source material. It’s not quite a panel-by-panel adaptation, although it often comes close. The first three episodes also introduced some minor rearranging of page events as part of the transition between episodes.
The pacing was initially slow with Episode 1 to establish the characters and allow time for worldbuilding. Then Episodes 2 and 3 began adapting a little over two chapters each.
The adaptation pacing of Part 1 averaged slightly less than two chapters per episode. Episode 12 finished the third story arc about the Catacombs, with the second half of the anime season launching the lengthy Beast of Gevaudan arc.
The Case Study of Vanitas Episodes 13 through 19 adapted Chapter 21 through the first several pages of Chapter 43. Unfortunately, this faster pacing resulted in details being dropped like how malnomen, theaters of ice and snow, are sealed spaces created from memories where the victims suffer an endlessly repeating performance until their hearts are destroyed.
Some scenes were condensed or outright skipped despite how crucial they were to fully understanding the motivations of the characters. The biggest change was how Chloe’s backstory, which fleshed out her character by explaining her attachment to her family and why she felt such loneliness when they were killed.
The anime acted as if Chloe was hidden away in the mountain castle. While it was true that she lived separately from the family’s main residence, the manga showed how much they cared for her.
The very oddly dressed Marquis Machina was briefly alluded to by the anime in a still shot, but in the manga version, he personally visited Chloe at her castle… while wearing a bear suit! Marquis Machina explained how Jeanne’s parents betrayed Ruthven and why he lost his right eye. Marquis Machina also offered to let Chloe live among the vampires, but she didn’t want to abandon her precious family.
About 30 years after Ruthven choked Chloe, Marquis Machina visited again… this time wearing a Japanese puppet costume. He explained how Ruthven finally ended the war with the humans and how Ruthven joined the senate after being adopted by the family of Grand Duke Oriflamme.
Marquis Machina offered a second time to Chloe a place to live among the vampires. The Babel incident had resulted in the Altus, the alternate dimension where vampires dwell in peace. Atlus was how the vampires and humans had learned to somewhat coexist, but Chloe once again refused the offer.
The anime softened the big reveal that the Beast was actually fanatical vampire hunters working at the behest of the Church. When Chloe once caught these vampire hunters she asked Marquis Herman D’Apchier to investigate. In response, the Church killed the Marquis, his wife, and his son. The Marquis’ daughter was the lone survivor and she blamed Chloe for the deaths, which was Chloe blamed herself for the death of her family.
In the first visit, Marquis Machina also told Chloe the reason why Jeanne’s parents were condemned to death and how Jeanne was forced to atone for her parent’s sins by becoming a borreau. Speaking of Jeanne, her reason for becoming a borreau was shifted to a later scene when she’s recounting her own past. But it wasn’t made adequately clear that her parents were conspiring with humans to kill the vampires who were seeking peace and that’s exactly how Ruthven lost his eye.
This betrayal by Jeanne’s parents was why she felt so guilty towards Ruthven and why she didn’t want to cause any more trouble for Lord Ruthven or Master Luca. When Vanitas asked Jeanne if killing Chloe was what she really wanted, she was thinking about her parent’s betrayal.
In the manga, information about the chasseur paladin Astolfo Granatum was teased out slowly in little drips and drabs rather than being dropped all at once on audiences. The anime shifted Astolfo’s fight with Noe back a bit while also combining details from Chapters 35 and 41.
In Chapter 41, friendly chasseur Roland Fortis simply explained that Astolfo’s family was slowly tortured and killed by a group of vampires after Astolfo helped a wounded vampire who was being pursued by chasseurs. Surprisingly, the anime greatly expanded on Astolfo’s backstory with anime original scenes, which was odd considering how the previously mentioned content was condensed or skipped.
The final Mikhail story arc needed to skip some scenes in order to give enough to the Vanitas vs Noe fight. For example, the anime skipped a reference to Number 70 and the Senate council meeting where Domi’s other brother was introduced.
All in all, it’s predicted that the finale, The Case Study of Vanitas Episode 24, will find a stopping point that corresponds to manga Chapter 55.5.
It was the best stopping point since audiences finally found out Vanitas’ motivations for his actions regarding Luna and the Blue Moon clan. Vanitas may have killed them after they had their true name stolen, which left Vanitas hurt and confused. Now it’s all about revenge and it’s a suicide mission since he and Mikhail will eventually turn into inhuman monsters if they continue to use their books.
It was also revealed that the Shapeless One, Domi’s grandfather and Noe’s teacher, turned out to be pulling the strings. The ending seems to heavily imply that Saint Germain (the former Marquis de Sade now that Domi’s father has the title) was spying on them the whole time through Murr’s eyes since the cat and the teacher share the same different-colored eyes… or perhaps the Shapeless One is literally a shapeshifter!?
The bad news is that by February 23, 2022, the manga was only up to Chapter 55.5 , which means that the anime’s ending completely caught up with the manga. Apparently, the manga creator coordinated with the anime team in order to make this happen based on her tweets.
It’s hardly close to the ending of the entire story since the plot hasn’t been resolved regarding Lord Ruthven and the first Vampire of the Crimson Moon, Queen Fuastina. The Shapeless One seems to be trying to resurrect Luna. And, of course, there is the vampire queen’s malnomen Naenia that’s still running around causing havoc.
The good news is that English-only manga readers can read ahead of the anime immediately with digital downloads once newer chapters are released.
The Case Study of Vanitas 2 anime spoilers (plot summary/synopsis)

The Case Study Of Vanitas - What We Know So Far
Avid manga readers have probably picked up, or at least heard of, "The Case Study of Vanitas." Set in 19th century Paris, the story's use of steampunk has produced gorgeous and unique art that puts one in mind of the ever-popular "Black Butler." However, the aesthetic isn't the only thing that makes this story interesting. Created by Jun Mochizuki ("Pandora Heart"), "Case Study" follows Noé Archiviste as he aids Vanitas on his journey to help vampires from giving into their predatory nature. It is not an easy task though, as danger lurks in every corner and a force called the Charlatan tries to corrupt the vampires before they can be saved. The series has appeared in Square Enix's "Monthly Gangan Joker" since 2015, and has since produced 8 volumes.
Fans of "Case Study" will be pleased to know that Vanitas and Noé will be animated. The anime will be adapted by Bones Inc. Studio, which is known for producing popular series such as " Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ," "Ouran High School Host Club" and, most recently, "My Hero Academia." When will The Case Study of Vanitas be released?
According to Anime News Network , Aniplex revealed back in March that the anime adaptation of "The Case Study of Vanitas" was on its way. It was later announced that the series would premiere on July 2nd and will air across multiple TV networks (via Crunchyroll ). In addition to Bones Inc., Tomoyuki Itamura of "Owarimonogatari" will be directing, while Deko Akao of "Snow White with the Red Hair" and Yoshiyuki Ito of "Carole & Tuesday" will be serving as the script overseer and the character designer, respectively.
The anime's official Twitter also recently attached a trailer , which features Vanita's book of healing, fights with vicious vampires , and of course, the stunning 19th century Paris in which all the action takes place. Fan reaction to the over minute-long teaser was overwhelming, with many merely responding with heart-eyes emojis and gifs to accurately express their excitement.
With only a couple of weeks to go, viewers won't have to wait long to return to Vanita's world or venture into it for the very first time.
What characters will be in the "The Case Study of Vanitas?"
"The Case Study of Vanitas" features a wide variety of characters, who add more to both the plot and various relationships. If the anime will cover the first 40 or so chapters, fans can expect many of these people to make an appearance.
Vanitas is the current holder of the Book of Vanitas, and thanks to its powers, he can do amazing things, though he claims to be a normal human. Despite his seemingly carefree personality, Vanitas' childhood — his parents were murdered by a vampire and his guardian subjected him to painful tests — has shaped who he is and what he does. During his travels, he meets Noé Archiviste, a man seeking the Book under the orders of his teacher. Noé is very caring, and because of this, he travels with Vanitas, finding his mission to save vampires rather than kill them to be an honorable deed.
On Noé's and Vanitas' journeys, they come across other friends and enemies. These include Jeanne, an enslaved vampire ordered to kill her own kind; Luca, a young vampire and son of the Grand Duke; Dominique, Noé's childhood friend who harbors unrequited feelings for him, and the Teacher, a cruel, mysterious, and ancient vampire that exploits his students.
The series is also likely to expand on supporting characters responsible for leading the main cast into even more perilous situations.
What will be the plot of "The Case Study of Vanitas?"
Noé Archiviste hopes to find the legendary Book of Vanitas, a relic with extraordinary powers. Aboard a 19th century blimp, he meets Vanitas, the newest inheritor of the ancient text. Together, they search for sick vampires and use the power of the book to heal them.
Most animes' first seasons usually follow up to the manga's sixth or seventh volume, so we can expect this series to do the same. Within those approximately 40 chapters, the adaptation will depict Noé's first meeting with Vanitas, how Vanitas utilizes the book to get the job done, the introductions of Luca, Jeanne, and Dominique, Noé's relationship with the mysterious Teacher, and the risks of dealing with bloodsuckers and the Charlatan that threatens to undo Vanitas' work and continue to corrupt any vampires.
Though there are more than seven volumes currently published, fans will have to wait for the "Case Study of Vanitas" to get renewed if they want to see the next adventure animated.

The Winter 2022 Preview Guide The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2

It's 19th-century Paris, and young vampire Noé hunts for the Book of Vanitas. Attacked by a vampire driven insane, a human doctor called Vanitas tempts Noé with a mad crusade to “cure” the entire vampire race. While allying with him may be dangerous, news reaches Vanitas that the Beast of Gévaudan has returned, and Noé is being brought along to investigate this phantom from the past.
The Case Study of Vanitas is based on Jun Mochizuki 's manga and streams on Crunchyroll on Fridays.
How was the first episode?
There really was a Beast of Gévaudan in the eighteenth century, and it really was described as Vanitas relates in this episode. As an added bonus, the Beast really was hunted by Louis XV's chief musketeer Antoine and has at least two Jeannes associated with it: its first victim was named Jeanne, and the woman who first saw it – and was saved when the cattle she was tending ran it off – was named Marie- Jeanne. Those folkloric/historical details, the fact that I immediately knew our heroes had traveled back in time by the clothing of the musketeers, and the allusions to Little Red Riding Hood (which has a high number of French variants) all made this easily my favorite premiere this season, and that's even without counting the fact that I was already looking forward to The Case Study of Vanitas ' return.
Apart from the fact that this episode feels made for people with my exact confluence of interests, it also shows that the series has lost nothing in the break between seasons. It does pick up immediately after the end of the previous twelve episodes, so if your memory isn't at its finest, you may want to watch the recap episode that aired last week, because Noé and Vanitas (and Murr, of course) are immediately off to Gévaudan to look into the beast. Vanitas' bet that it's actually a vampire with a malnomen is on the money, but that doesn't mean that it'll be easy to fix the problem. What's more interesting is the way that Jeanne is related to the whole mess – we know that vampires are longer-lived than humans, but Jeanne has just admitted to being around in 1767, when the Beast last appeared. She stands to be Vanitas' greatest obstacle in dealing with the Beast, and that's the kind of relationship drama I'm ready for.
Visually and in terms of the previous season's character relationships, this remains right on track. The scene where Charlatan appears in the snowy forest of the past is excellently done in terms of Carnivalism, and the background, which looks like a bloody version of Van Gough's Starry Night, enhances the air of adjacent reality that is required of the Carnivalesque. Separating Noé and Vanitas right off the bat was a risk, but I think it's one that will pay off given where they were last season, and especially since Noé's been found by a mysterious man and his daughter/ward while Vanitas has lost his book. Given the nature of time travel, he could have lost it so that he can get it again for the first time, but we'll just have to wait and see. My only vague complaint is that the English and French titles don't match up – presumably the English matches the Japanese, but this episode is called “The Silver Forest” in French, not “Chance Encounter,” while next week's is “The Witch's Castle” rather than “The Young Man and the Witch.”
For the most part, that's neither here nor there. I'm just looking forward to diving back into this series, and it looks like it's not going to disappoint.
Vanitas has been gone for three slutty, slutty months, but everyone's favorite, wretched little doctor is back with the pack of maladjusted vampires who misguidedly find him alluring, and they're ready to warm the hearts of viewers through the chilly winter months. Season one of Vanitas could at times feel meandering or slow-going, choosing to zero in on character moments or dole out tidbits of intrigue rather than the action spectacle one would expect from its premise. But this second half starts off with as much action and mystery as one can reasonably fit into 20 minutes, and it's a blast all the way through.
We begin with Noé and Vanitas reaching Gévaudan, searching for the legendary beast named after the region, but instead of a simple monster hunt things quickly spiral into a wild whirlwind as new and old parties arrive. Then our cast is seemingly transported to the far past, Charlatan arrives to swirl up even more chaos, and by the end of the episode nearly everything has been turned upside down for our heroes, especially Vanitas and his ever-useful book. It's a really exciting return for the show, and while I was already happy to be back with this cast and world, it made me extra enthusiastic to get back into the fray.
It helps that the cast, who made the first season the delight it was, are still in prime form. Noé's bright-eyed earnestness clashes delightfully with Vanitas' sardonic cynicism, and their belligerent chemistry is as charming as ever. Rather than the blushy, confused mess from last season's finale, we get to see Jeanne in full battle mode against the beast and it's a treat. Newcomer Astolfo is an incredibly over-the-top antagonist, but that just makes it all the more funny to watch Vanitas troll the ever-loving hell out of him with the most shit-eating grin ever drawn. It's all familiar and delightful, helping to ground what might otherwise be a chaotic mess of a premiere, and is a great reminder of why I enjoyed this show to begin with.
So yeah, Vanitas is back in fine form and promises to deliver more beautifully rendered gothic melodrama. I doubt I have to tell anyone who liked the first season to get onboard, but if you've ended this preview season thinking Winter looks a little sparse, this may be the perfect time to sink your teeth into this show.

The release date for the highly anticipated return of The Case Study of Vanitas  has finally been confirmed.According to the anime's official Twitter account, Part 2 of the hit vampire series will debut in Japan on Jan. 14, 2022. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the continuation of the series ever since the first half of the series concluded in September. Based on the manga series of the same name by Jun Mochizuki, The Case Study of Vanitas is set in 19th century Paris and incorporates elements of steampunk and dark fantasy aesthetics. The story follows Noé Archiviste, a vampire, and Vanitas, a human doctor, as they work together to heal corrupted vampires of the malnomen, a curse that causes vampires to become predatory against their will.
The anime adaptation is produced by animation studio Bones ( My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission , Godzilla Singular Point ) with Tomoyuki Itamura ( Owarimonogatari , Tsukimonogatari ) serving as its director. The series is written by Deko Akao ( Komi Can't Communicate , Pokémon Journeys: The Series ) and the music is composed by Yuki Kajiura ( Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba , Fena: Pirate Princess ).

The cast for The Case Study of Vanitas features several popular and experienced voice actors, including Natsuki Hanae ( Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Smile Down the Runway ) as Vanitas, Kaito Ishikawa ( The Rising of the Shield Hero , Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle ) as Noe, Inori Minase ( My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! X ) as Jeanne and Shino Shimoji ( The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat ) as Lucius "Luca" Oriflamme. In Part 2, they will be joined by Rie Kugimiya ( DARLING in the FRANXX , The Misfit of Demon King Academy ), whose character Chloe was teased during Part 1's finale.
Part 2 of The Case Study of Vanitas isn't the only series scheduled to premiere during the upcoming winter anime season. Other titles that will be releasing new seasons include Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest , JoJo's Bizarre Adventure  and Teasing Master Takagi-san . Several new series will be making their debut as well, including Tokyo 24th Ward , Police in a Pod , Orient and She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wiseman .
Part 1 of The Case Study of Vanitas is currently available to stream on Funimation and Hulu.

When will The Case Study of Vanitas season 2 come out? Explained
One of the most highly-anticipated anime sequels currently lacking any release information at all is The Case Study of Vanitas season 2. With the first season having originally premiered in the Summer 2021 season, fans saw the entirety of the first season stretch into the Winter 2022 season as well.
The anime community, likewise, has been waiting for over a year now with no news on when The Case Study of Vanitas season 2 will be premiering. Unfortunately, it seems that they will have to wait for quite a long time before a second season for the series ever sees the light of day.
The Case Study of Vanitas season 2 is getting delayed thanks to inconsistent release schedule of both chapters and volumes
When will season 2 come out.
As of writing this article, there are currently no rumors, leaks, or news on when The Case Study of Vanitas season 2 will become available. For now, it seems that Studio Bones’ latest smash-hit anime premiere will be on the backburner for quite some time. While unfortunate to hear, there is a sensible reason why such a wait is a reality.
As an adaptation of a manga series, the anime needs to wait for more manga material to be released in order to remain a faithful adaptation. Considering that history has shown consistently that remakes will come for those series that decide to come up with their own ending, Studio Bones is likely just waiting for new source material. Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood , as well as Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate are examples.
That being said, there is simply not enough additional source material for Studio Bones to adapt to a full-fledged second season of the series. As of this article’s writing, The Case Study of Vanitas’ manga series has 10 total manga volumes released. The first season adapted 9 of these 10 volumes, essentially comprising all of the source material currently available to adapt.
While the manga series is thankfully still ongoing, the release rate is incredibly slow, with several months typically marking the distance between the release of individual chapters. This has a cascading effect on the manga volumes themselves, which can often see a gap of two years or more between releases.
Considering the current pace and how much material the first season adapted, there won’t be enough source material to create The Case Study of Vanitas season 2 until the end of 2024. Believing an anime production schedule would likely take at least 18 months beyond that point, fans sadly won’t be seeing the second season of the hit series until mid-2026 at the absolute earliest.

Vanitas no Carte, also known as The Case Study of Vanitas, first appeared in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker in December 2015. The seventh volume was released in October of this year, and the eighth in June of 2020.

The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2 Gets Release Window

The official Twitter account for The Case Study of Vanitas has announced that Part 2 of the anime is coming in the winter 2022 anime season.
The Case Study of Vanitas is based on the manga by Jun Mochizuki, the creator of Pandora Hearts . The anime adaption is being handled by Studio Bones, best known for My Hero Academia , with Tomoyuki Itamura (Nisemonogatari) handling directing. Rie Kugimiya, the voice of Happy in Fairy Tail , will be joining the second half of the season as a new character named Chloe.

“Rumors revolving around The Book of Vanitas, a clockwork grimoire of dubious reputation, draw Noé, a young vampire in search of a friend’s salvation, to Paris,” reads the official description of The Case Study of Vanitas . “What awaits him in the City of Flowers, however, is not long hours treading the pavement or rifling through dusty bookshops in search of the tome. Instead, his quarry comes to him…in the arms of a man claiming to be a vampire doctor! Thrust into a conflict that threatens the peace between humans and vampires, will Noé cast in his lot with the curious and slightly unbalanced Vanitas and his quest to save vampirekind?”
The supernatural Victorian anime premiered earlier this year on Funimation, which currently has all 12 episodes subbed and the first five dubbed.
