The Italian language programme for Marco Polo and Turandot students is organised by the SIE in cooperation with Ca' Foscari University of Venice, IUAV University, Venice Academy of fine arts and Music conservatory Benedetto Marcello, and promotes a variety of highly qualified courses tailored to students’ prospective degree choices.

The aim of the programme is to provide Chinese students with proficiency in Italian language and culture and to prepare them for enrolment at Italian universities or higher education institutions.

Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello offers university-level courses through its 7 departments and 3 areas , with theoretical and practical fields (strings, winds, singing and musical theatre, keyboard instruments, theory and analysis, didactic, new technologies, early music, chamber music, opera studios).

The relationship between students and their professors is a key characteristic of the Conservatorio. One-to-one classes are offered following the strong Venetian tradition of musical studies for both instruments and composition . Professors are involved in a close relation to few students in chamber music as well with small groups of two to ten musicians. This laboratory approach allows for concrete results.

The conservatory has always imposed limited admission to guarantee the quality of its students and to provide its graduates with concrete high quality job opportunities including them in musical and theatre productions since the beginning of their studies.

Each partner university opens its libraries to its enroled students: Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and its 4 libraries specialized in economics, linguistics and literature, humanities and scientific fields; IUAV University and its library specialized in arts, architecture, design, fashion and urban planning; Music conservatory Benedetto Marcello and its library specialized in music; Academy of fine arts and its library specialized in arts, architecture, costume and production design, photography. Venice also offers access to a vast archive of literature in its many prestigious public libraries all linked by a unified Online Public Access Catalogue.

Painting, sculpture, decoration, graphic art, scenography, new technologies for art are the schools that organize the education offer of the Accademia di Belle Arti of Venice and from which students can graduate from a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree.

A Bachelor’s degree programme aims to ensure mastery of artistic methods and techniques, specific skills acquisition in the chosen field to train professionals who can develop their research through the plurality of languages and innovations that characterize contemporaneity in respect to the chosen discipline.

The Master’s degree programme lasts for two years and aims to provide students with an advanced training for a complete mastery of artistic methods and techniques, advanced professional skills acquisition in the chosen field. Both laboratory courses and theoretical courses are offered. The plan of studies does not limit training to a single field and is open to many artistic expressions, enriched by the contributions of laboratory experience, to shape an artist, a cultural operator, a professional in visual and performing arts.

The Accademia di Belle Arti takes part in the Erasmus Project and is therefore connected to the most prestigious international universities. It started collaborating with Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Fondazione Culturale Paolina Paulon, as a member of the Turandot Project.

The Accademia di Belle Arti also collaborates with the Theatre La Fenice for scenographic projects of operas.

Eurizon Asset Management

The partnership with Eurizon Asset Management is defined as "Dottorato Industriale". The "Dottorato Industriale" is a method of collaboration between the University and labour market, defined by the Ministerial Decree of 14 December 2021 n. 226. This type of collaboration allows companies to train , strengthening their skills , their permanent employees as part of a PhD course. The company interested in the "Dottorato Industriale" must be engaged in research activities, possibly attested by patents and technical-scientific publications. The training is developed jointly by the company and the Faculty of the PhD programme involved and includes both the attendance of university courses and research activity. The doctoral student is supervised by two supervisors , one in the academia and one within the company.

Educational aims

The PhD programme offers advanced training in the areas of economic and financial sciences, with a particular specialisation in quantitative and qualitative analysis of the numerous aspects and issues within financial-economic systems, at both a microeconomic level (how markets, economic organisations and businesses function, and predictions on their trends and prospects) and a macroeconomic level (issues regarding economic cycles and unemployment, and the impact of specific social and economic factors).

The programme is taught entirely in English.
