As part of ICSE Class 10 board exams, students are required to write a composition (essay) of around 300 to 350 words from a choice of subjects. The idea is to see how well students can describe, explain, present ideas coherently, arrive at conclusions and suggest solutions. • Read newspaper headlines. Usually, the Essays seem to be based on current hot topics/burning issues

ISC ICSE Result 2024 LIVE: The results of CISCE Board Class 10th and 12th examinations has been released on May 6 at 11 am. The students who appeared for the examinations can check their results on the official website at- cisce.org or results.cisce.org.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced the Class 10 and 12 results today. Once announced, candidates who appeared in the examinations can check their results on the official CISCE website — cisce.org.

As per the announcement, students can swiftly access their results for ICSE and ISC exams for the year 2024 on the official websites of the council – cisce.org and results.cisce.org. To retrieve their scores, students will need to input their unique ID, index number, and the captcha code provided on the login page. Additionally, the scores will be made available through DigiLocker for convenient access.

This year's ICSE and ISC examinations commenced on February 21 and were initially scheduled to conclude on April 3. However, the examination period extended until April 4 due to the rescheduling of two papers. The Class 12 Chemistry paper, originally slated for February 26, was postponed to March 21 due to unforeseen circumstances. Likewise, the Class 12 Psychology examination underwent rescheduling, moving from May 27 to April 4, following the reported loss of the question paper packet at one exam centre.

Upon the declaration of results, CISCE will provide students with the opportunity to apply for re-checking and re-evaluation of their marks. Last year, the results were announced on May 14 for examinations conducted between February 27 and March 29. Notably, in the previous year's ICSE examinations, girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 99.21 percent compared to boys' 98.71 percent. Similarly, in the ISC exams, girls achieved a pass percentage of 98.01 percent while boys secured 95.96 percent.

How to Calculate ICSE Percentage for Class 10?

To calculate the ICSE percentage for class 10, students will have to choose the scores of the best 5 subjects out of the 6. ICSE Class 10 results were declared on May 6, 2024. The below-listed steps will guide students to calculate their ICSE percentage for class 10.

• In ICSE Class 10, there are a total of 6 subjects.
• Students will have to select the best 5 and not consider the one in which they have scored the least marks.
• Then you have to add the marks of your best 5 subjects, divide them by 5 and then multiply by 100 to get your percentage.

Here is an example of how you can calculate your ICSE percentage: 

• English – 81
• Mathematics – 85
• History/ Civics – 88
• Science – 83
• Geography – 85 and
• Computer Applications – 75

Add the scores of the top 5 subjects. In this case: 81+85+88+83+85 = 422 ÷ 5 x 100 = 8440.

ICSE Total Marks in 10th Class

The ICE Class 10 exams were conducted from 21 February 2024 to 28 March 2024. ICSE Class 10 includes a total of 6 subjects, where each subject carries a total of 100 marks. The minimum passing mark in each subject is 33. The duration of each exam was 2 hours, and there were both objective and subjective questions. 

A.1 To calculate the ICSE Class 10 percentage, students have to select the scores of the best 5 subjects out of the 6. Add the scores of 5 subjects, divide it by 5 and multiply it by 100 to get your percentile.

A.2 To check your percentage of marks in Class 10, divide your marks by the maximum marks and multiply the score by 100.

A.3 ICSE is the best of 5 when it comes to calculating your percentage. There are a total of 6 subjects, out of which you are required to select the scores of the best 5.

ICSE, ISC Results 2024: To pass the CISCE Class 10 and Class 12 exams, students need to secure at least 33 per cent marks in each subject

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has declared the results for the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 today, May 6 at 11 am. Students can view and download their scores from the official website of the CISCE at cisce.org. ICSE and ISC candidates who wish to improve their marks may take the Improvement Examination in a maximum of two subjects. It will be conducted in July 2024. The Statement of Marks / Pass Certificate for the candidates who have applied for Recheck / Re-evaluation will be released after the result of Re-evaluation is declared, the CISCE has said.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Board examinations for class 10 were conducted over one month starting from February 21. The exams concluded on March 28, 2024. Conversely, the ISC class 12 exams were conducted from February 12, 2024, to April 3, 2024, across various examination centres.

ICSE, ISC Results 2024: Passing Marks

As per the passing criteria, students who appeared for the ICSE Class 10 board exams must score a minimum of 33 per cent in each subject and overall as well to clear the examination. This means, students must score at grade D to clear the exams. Those who get below will be considered failed and have to repeat the year.

ICSE, ISC Compartment Exam Cancelled, Re-Evaluation Introduced

The compartment exams have been cancelled by CISCE from this year. A re-evaluation process of answer scripts in line with the NEP 2020 has also been introduced by the board. The ICSE and ISC re-evaluation of results has been presented in addition to the recheck of answer scripts after the declaration of the results. Students will be able to appear in the CISCE improvement exams for a maximum of two subjects from the examination year 2024 onwards.

Candidates are required to pay Rs 1,500 per subject for re-evaluation. It is important to note that the fee paid for the re-evaluation of answer scripts will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates should further note that the ICSE and ISC re-evaluation results will be announced within three weeks on the official website at cisce.org. The board further mentioned that the re-evaluation of answer scripts will be carried out by a skilled person appointed by the Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE.

CISCE ISC ICSE Result 2024 Highlights:  The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced the results for ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12). Candidates can access their scorecards through the board's official website, the careers portal, and DigiLocker.

The board has also released the schedule for improvement exams for candidates who fail to pass the test. These exams will take place in July.

To access scorecards, candidates will need details such as unique ID, index number, and captcha (as displayed on the screen).

• Visit the council's website, cisce.org, or results.cisce.org.
• Click on the ICSE or ISC result link, as required.
• Enter the Unique ID, Index Number, and Security Code displayed on the screen.
• Sign in and check board exam results.

This year's CISCE board exams were marked by controversies, resulting in the postponement of two papers by the council. Originally scheduled for February 26, the ISC Chemistry paper was rescheduled to March 21. Subsequently, the Class 12 Psychology examination was also delayed after a question paper packet went missing at one exam centre. Initially set for March 27, the exam was conducted on April 4.

Following the declaration of ICSE and ISC results, CISCE will allow students to request re-checking and re-evaluation. For re-checking, students will be required to submit a fee of Rs 1,000 per paper, while for re-evaluation, they will need to pay Rs 1,500 per paper.

The option to apply for these processes will be available on the council's website after the results are announced.

• The Western region boasts the highest pass rate at 99.91%, followed by the Southern region with a pass rate of 99.88%.
• Furthermore, the Southern region has the highest proportion of female candidates, accounting for 49.52% of those who appeared in the examination.

A total of 99,901 students, comprising 52,675 boys (52.82%) and 47,136 girls (47.18%), appeared in the ISC (Class 12) exam.
