PhD in Mathematics
Students on the PhD programme will undertake cutting-edge research under the close supervision of a member of staff within a selected area of research.
I have weekly meetings with my supervisor, not just discussing the research but also how I'm feeling mentally and what I am doing to prepare myself for the future. It’s an all-round package of making sure I’ve got everything I need.
We offer a number of opportunities to visit the University of Bristol and the School of Mathematics

Bristol Myers Squibb to Fund Research for Five CSAM Students
Pharmaceutical company will support five health-focused research projects conducted by Montclair students
Posted in: Opportunities , Scholarships
A new agreement between Montclair State University and pharmaceutical company Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) will help support the next generation of STEM scholars through exposure to and mentorship within the pharmaceutical industry.
The Princeton-based company granted the University $25,000 as part of the Bristol Myers Squibb Science Scholars Program, to be distributed among five different health-focused research projects led by students in the College.
This program allows students to participate in real world research projects alongside professional scientists, experiencing STEM careers first hand. We are thankful that BMS supports our goal to increase quality experiential learning opportunities as we celebrate the courage, knowledge, and perseverance students draw on to thrive in STEM fields, diversifying the future STEM workforce. College of Science and Mathematics Dean, Lora Billings

PhD projects. I mostly work in algebraic number theory and elliptic curves, and especially with things related to Birch-Swinnerton-Dyer Conjecture and arithmetic of L-functions. I am also interested in all kinds of connections between number theory and Galois theory, finite groups and representation theory.
