फुटबॉल पर संस्कृत निबंध : पादकन्दुकक्रीडा(Football) कन्दुकक्रीडायाम् एका प्रसिद्धा क्रीडा। पादकन्दुक्-क्रीडा (फुटबॉल)  द्वयोदलयोर्मध्ये भवति। तत्र प्रतिदलं क्रीडकानां संख्याऽधिकाधिकमेकादश ११ मिता समुचिता मन्यते। एतेषु क्रीड्केष्वेकः सीमरक्षको (गोल-कीपरः) भवति। सामान्यक्रीडावसरे द्वौ प्रतिनिधि-क्रीडकावपि भवतः परं प्रतिस्पर्धारुपिण्यां क्रीडायां सम्बद्ध-संस्थाया अनुमतिरपेक्षिताऽस्ति। दलस्यैको नायको भवति, यः स्वस्य दलस्य व्यवस्थापने समयानुसारं क्रीडकस्य स्थानपरिवर्तने च समर्थो भवति। यदा कदा क्रीडकसंख्या न्यूनाऽपि भवितुमर्हति।

सन् १८८३ वत्सरे पादकन्दुक-क्रीडाया नियमान निश्चिन्वद्भः क्रीडाङ्गणस्यायामः १२०गजमितो विस्तारश्च ८० गजमितः स्वीकृतः। सम्प्रति १०० गजतः १३० गजमानं यावदायतं तथा ५० तः १०० गजमितं विस्तृतं क्रीडाङ्गणं समुचितं मन्वते। इदमायताकृतिकं भवति। पादकन्दुकः चर्मनिर्मितो भवति। अस्य परिधिः २८ इंचमितो भवति। वर्तुलाकृतिके चर्म-कन्दुके रबर्-निर्मितोऽन्यं कन्दुको (ब्लैडर्) निक्षिप्यते यस्मिन् वायुं पूरयन्ति, पूरिते च वायौ तस्य भारः १४ तः १६ औसपर्यन्तौ भवति।

सर्वप्रथमं द्वे अपि दले क्रीडारम्भस्य निर्णयाय मुद्रोच्छालनं कुरुतः। तदानुसारं यस्य पक्षे निर्णयो भवति तददलं क्रीडामारभते। आरम्भकदलस्यायमधिकारोऽस्ति यत् स स्वेच्छया क्रीडाङ्गणाभागं चिनुयात् परमेवं करणेन प्रथमप्रहाराधिकारो विपक्षस्य हस्ते समायाति। निर्णायकस्य शुषिरिकां (सीटी) श्रुत्वा प्रारम्भकः क्षेत्रस्य सर्वथा मध्ये स्थापितं कन्दुकं पादेन सन्ताडय विपक्षक्षेत्रे प्रक्षेप्स्यति प्रतिक्रीडकस्य कस्यापि यावत् तेन कन्दुकेन स्पर्शो न भवति तावत् पूर्वपक्षीयः पुनस्तं न स्पृशति। प्रतिपक्षि क्रीडकाः १० गजमितेन्तश्च स्थिताः परिधितो बहिर्निः सृतं कन्दुकं क्रीडन्तस्ताडयन्त उच्छालयन्तश्च मिथः सीमक्षेत्रं प्रापयितुं चेष्टन्ते। सीमप्रापण (गोल्)स्य गणनाधिक्येन विजयघोषणं क्रियते।

फुटबॉल खेल भी क्रिकेट के समान ही 2 टीमों के बीच में खेला जाता हैं और प्रत्येक टीम में 11-11 खिलाड़ी होते हैं। इस खेल को खेलने वाले 11 खिलाड़ियों में से एक 1 गोलकीपर होता हैं जो सामने वाली टीम के गोल होने से बचाता हैं। इस खेल में जो टीम ज्यादा गोल बनती हैं, वो टीम अंत में जीत जाती हैं और वो विजयी रहती हैं।

इस खेल को खेलने के लिए मैदान में 2 टीम आपस में खेलती हैं और वे दोनों खिलाड़ी बिना फुटबॉल हाथ लगाये टांगो से बोल को गोल पॉइंट तक पहुचाते हैं। इस में जो टीम ज्यादा पॉइंट बनती हैं, वो टीम जीत जाती हैं।

दो टीमों के बीच खेला जाने वाला यह खेल फुटबॉल के नाम से जाना जाता हैं। इस खेल में दोनों टीम में 11-11 खिलाड़ी होते हैं जो एक दूसरी टीम के लिए खेलते हैं। इस टीम में जो प्लेयर होते हैं, उनमें 1 खिलाड़ी गोलकीपर होता हैं। इस खेल को खलने वाले खिलाड़ी अपने पैरों से बल को मारते हैं और सामने वाली टीम के पाले में फेंकते हैं और गोल करते हैं।

उन सभी टीम में जो मुख्य 11 खिलाड़ी होते हैं वो एक दूसरे की टीम के सामने वाली टीम में बाल फेकते हैं और एक दूसरे को सपोर्ट करते हैं, जो उसी टीम का होता है। इस खेल में जो टीम ज्यादा पॉइंट बनाती हैं वो टीम जीत जाती हैं।
