This left lots of travelers stuck.

Controversies

Throughout his career, Tuface has been involved in a lot of issues. Tuface’s departure from Plantashun Boiz in 2004 caused the band to break up, which sparked a dispute with his former comrades who held him responsible. In a few of the songs on their respective solo albums, Tuface and his former bandmate Faze trade blame.

A dispute erupted over the popular song “African Queen” between Tuface, his record company Kennis Music, and Blackface, a former bandmate who accused Tuface of stealing the song from him and claimed it was written while they were still a band.

In the end, Kennis Music consented to grant Blackface authorship credit for the song and to pay him royalties from the song’s sales.

Tuface announced through his Instagram account on January 25 that he would be organizing a protest against Muhammadu Buhari’s policies that will take place across the country on February 5.

In an effort to put an end to the protest, the administration, through Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni, issued a statement declaring that it was illegal to hold protests in the state due to the possibility that thugs would hijack them and use them to cause mayhem.

However, the statement was publicly rejected and ignored, which is why social media continued to be used to publicize the protest. On February 4, 2017, Tuface announced in a video that he was postponing the protest because of security concerns.

However, social media rumors claimed that the administration had picked him up earlier that day and had pressured him to postpone the highly anticipated protest. Tuface later denied the claim in a series of tweets from his official Twitter account.

How Old is 2Face?

2Face is 48 years old in 2024. He was born on 18th September 1975 in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. Though born in Jos, Innocent Ujah Idibia is originally from one of the North Central states in Nigeria. His zodiac sign is Virgo.

Where Is 2Baba From?

2Baba belongs to the Idoma ethnic group in Benue State. The Idibia family hails from Okpokwu local government area in the southern part of Benue State, Nigeria.

The musician was born to the late Mr. Micheal Idibia and Rose Idibia in Jos, Plateau state. He came from a Christian middle-class family background where his father worked as a civil servant with Benue State’s Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the music star, his father never at any point discouraged him from pursuing his passion for music just like most Nigerian parents do. Sadly, Mr. Micheal Idibia died on 18th August 2014 after a battle with cancer.

Tuface Idibia’s Siblings

Tuface has three siblings named Hyacinth Idibia, Stephen Idibia, and Oche Idibia. He is the second son out of four boys born to his parents. He grew up with his parents alongside three siblings in Jos.

The musician’s younger brothers, Stephen and Oche, are both pursuing a career in music, trying to follow in their brother’s footsteps. Nothing much is known about them or the eldest son in the family who is not in the limelight.

The Legendary Musician is a University Dropout

Tuface dropped out from the Institute of Management & Technology (IMT) Enugu State while studying a two-year course to pursue his career in music. As a result of this, among other factors, he has received criticism.

In 1995, he enrolled at the Institute of Management & Technology (IMT) in Enugu State to undertake a preliminary National Diploma course in business administration and management.

Growing up in Jos, 2Baba attended Mount Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School Makurdi, Benue State, where he obtained his senior school certificate in 1992. After that, he was admitted to the University of Jos in 1994 where he studied a one-year pre-degree program.

It is said that he speaks bad English because he did not complete his education. The Nigerian music legend once made a Twitter post asking why Africans look down on people who cannot speak proper English or do not have an accent.

He went on to call for the development of pidgin English to become an official language. He said that considering the fact that there are several different languages in the country and people of different tribes speak pidgin without struggle, it should be made one of the official languages of Nigeria.

Regardless of all that, 2Baba was able to go on to excel in his career, singing in both pidgin and English.

Why did 2Face Change his Name?

2Face changed his name in order to separate his business career from his personal life. The singer initially went by the name 2Face until 10th January 2016 when he changed his name to 2Baba. He adopted the name “2Face” in 1996, two years after he launched his professional music career.

How Many Children Does 2Face Have?

2Face has seven children . The singer had two girls named Olivia Idibia and Isabel Idibia with his wife Annie Macaulay–Idibia , three kids named Rose Idibia, Justin Idibia, and Innocent Idibia with socialite Pero Adeniyi, and two kids named Nino Idibia and Zion Idibia with Sumbo Ajala.

How 2Baba’s Net Worth of $22 Million Accrued

2Baba amassed his $22 million net worth from multiple sources, with the bulk of his total revenue coming from music. He also makes money from other avenues such as endorsements, book sales, and performing in concerts.

Anyone who thinks about booking the music legend for a show should be ready to part ways with more than 5 million Naira or more presently.

His Short-lived Career with Plantashun Boyz and Solo Career

2Baba began his career with the band, Plantaashun Boyz before going solo after the band went their separate ways.

He Started His Music Career at IMT with Plantashun Boyz

Innocent Idibia launched his music career as a student at IMT, Enugu. While schooling there, he was the man around town performing at virtually every show and party in school and even in other schools within the Enugu Metropolis.

He also made money from composing and singing jingles at the GB Fan Club at the Enugu State Broadcasting Services (ESBS). The aspiring musician would eventually drop out of school and head to Lagos where he met rapper Blackface (Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo) and singer Faze (Chibuzor Oji).

It was during this time in Lagos that the three formed the Plantashun Boyz band. The trio released two successful albums, Body & Soul  (2000) and  Sold Out (2003) under Nelson Brown’s music label, Dove Records.

Unfortunately, the band separated in 2004 following a disagreement between Faze and Tuface. Each member of the group then went solo. Blackface accused 2face of performing songs written by both of them and not remitting any revenue to him.

Eventually, the matter was laid to rest after a long media and legal battle. They came back in 2017 and recorded their last album titled Plan B .

TuFace Became a Star After Embarking on a Solo Career in 2014

Nigerian legendary musician 2Baba burst into mainstream success in 2014 when he launched his solo career. His career witnessed tremendous growth in every ramification, thereby thrusting him onto the global map.

Following the disbandment of Plantashun Boyz, all band members went their own way and started their solo careers. As a solo act, 2face has released a total of seven albums that sold millions of copies on a global scale.

biography of 2face idibia

Legendary Nigerian musician 2Face Idibia (also known as 2Baba) has a total of 7 children from three different women. He is now married to Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia who has two daughters for him.

List of 2Face Idibia’s baby mamas:

1. Sumbo Ajaba

Sumbo Ajaba has two children for 2Face Idibia – two boys named Zion and Nino. They met while she was attending Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) as an undergraduate. Adesumbo Ajaba became pregnant when they were dating but she pinned the baby on another man and they got married. The marriage crashed after she gave birth and the child looked like a carbon copy of 2Face Idibia.

biography of 2face idibia

After the crashing of her first marriage, Sumbo Ajaba went back to 2Face Idibia’s house and they began living together. While there, she gave birth to another son for him. Their relationship ended around 2009 after news came out that 2Face Idibia has impregnated other women. While 2Face was out of the country, Sumbo packed her belongings and moved out of the house with her two children.

Sumbo Ajaba is now happily married to Pastor David Adeoye of Royalty Christian Centre, located in Agege, Lagos. Following her marriage to Pastor Adeoye, Sumbo Ajaba is now been addressed as Mrs Adesumbo Adeoye. In May 2020, she delivered her second child with Pastor David.

The most interesting part is that Pero Adeniyi was married when she met 2Face Idibia. She reportedly abandoned her then-husband, Tunde Borokinni, a New York-based businessman, to become 2Face’s lover. The affair resulted in three children.

2Face Idibia’s relationship with Pero Adeniyi was a tumultuous one, and it was mostly because of 2Face’s involvement with other women. She finally left him and travelled abroad shortly after 2Face proposed to Annie in 2012.
