  • Birth name Daniel Hernandez Jr.
  • Height 5′ 7″ (1.70 m)
  • Daniel Hernandez (born May 8, 1996), known professionally as 6ix9ine (pronounced "six nine"), Tekashi69, or Tekashi 6ix9ine, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and Internet personality. Hernandez is known for his distinctive rainbow-themed look, tattoos, aggressive style of rapping, public feuds with fellow celebrities, legal issues, and controversial public persona. Hernandez rose to mainstream fame in late 2017 with the release of his debut single "Gummo", which was certified platinum by the RIAA. In early 2018, Hernandez released his debut mix-tape, Day69, which debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart. He later earned his first top-five entry on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Fefe", featuring Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz, which peaked at number three on the chart. His debut studio album, Dummy Boy, was released on November 27, 2018, after being delayed a week earlier due to his arrest, and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart. Hernandez pled guilty to using a 13-year-old child in a sexual performance in 2015. He was arrested in November 2018 on racketeering and firearm charges, among others, for which he is facing a possible life sentence in federal prison. Daniel Hernandez was born on May 8, 1996 in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York City to a mother originally from Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico and a Puerto Rican father. He was raised with his older brother by his parents until he was 13, when his father was shot dead steps away from the family home. Emotionally disturbed by the death of his father, Hernandez started to act out and was eventually expelled from school in the 8th grade for bad behavior. Rather than continue his education, he started working various odd jobs such as working as a busboy to help his mother financially. Hernandez also dealt drugs to supplement his income, most notably selling cannabis and heroin on the streets while working at a local Brooklyn bodega. He was eventually arrested for his criminal activities and sentenced to prison time at Rikers Island, where he began to associate himself with the Nine Trey Gangsters, a prison subset of the Bloods street gang. Hernandez began his career as a rapper in 2014, releasing songs such as "69" and "Scumlife". Other early songs were taken down by YouTube. - IMDb Mini Biography By: ahmetkozan

Insider Today

You've probably heard a lot about 6ix9ine recently — for good reasons and bad.

6ix9ine — also known as Tekashi69 — is a 22-year-old rapper and Instagram star with more than 15 million followers whose real name is Daniel Hernandez. He's developed a unique persona as a hardcore rapper with an aggressively tattooed face and rainbow-dyed hair. After spending several years on the indie-SoundCloud-rapper circuit, Hernandez recently achieved mainstream credibility with "FEFE," a hit single he made with Nicki Minaj earlier this year.

But his star is dying just as quickly as it was born. As he's become famous, people have paid renewed attention to his 2015 conviction for using "a child in a sexual performance." And since his arrest in November, more details have come to light about his connections to organized crime. In January, he pleaded guilty to charges involving racketeering, illegal firearms posession, and aiding in attemped murder as part of the violent Trey Nine gang. He's cooperating with federal authorities for their investigation into other members of the organization.

How did a 22-year-old go from being an upcoming rapper and influencer to criminal? First, you need to understand how Daniel Hernandez became 6ix9ine.

Daniel Hernandez dropped out of school at the age of 13.

biography 69

Hernandez's life fell sideways in his teenage years. When he was 13, his father was murdered a block from his family home, according to The New York Times .

The experience had a huge impact on Hernandez, and he soon dropped out of school and started working odd jobs to help his mother.

"My pops died in eighth grade, and I just started bugging in school," he told the podcast "No Jumper" in an extensive 2017 interview . "I was 13. I was waiting for my pops to come back home, and he never came."

Hernandez ultimately turned to selling drugs. At around that time, he developed his 6ix9ine persona, drawing inspiration from anime, hip-hop, and metal. He eventually got the number 69 tattooed on his body more than 200 times, according to The Times.

In February 2015, Hernandez performed sexual acts with a 13-year-old, whom he said he believed was 19.

biography 69

As Hernandez rose through the ranks of internet fame and notoriety, he attended a party on February 22, 2015, where he performed several sexual acts with a 13-year-old girl. Hernandez was 19 at the time.

The lurid acts are described in detail in a criminal complaint obtained in 2017 by Jezebel . Hernandez was arrested in March 2015 over the incident and pleaded guilty in October of that year.

In his plea agreement, Hernandez's sentence was adjourned until October 2017 ( it has since been delayed several more times ). The terms of his release required that he not post explicit images of women to social media, that he write a letter explaining himself to the complaining witness and her family, that he not commit a crime for two years, and that he obtain a GED.

Hernandez later told police he thought the girl was 19. He's also contradicted his plea statement in several interviews , saying he didn't engage with the girl sexually and thought she was older.

Hernandez focused on building his online following — but made a deal with a fugitive.

biography 69

After his 2015 criminal case, Hernandez seemed to focus on growing his Instagram following by promoting his brash persona and making music on SoundCloud . He also struck a deal with Kifano "Shotti" Jordan to be his manager. With Jordan, Hernandez made more mainstream street rap, started feuding with SoundCloud rappers, and began charging up to $100,000 for a performance, according to The Times .

But Jordan also has a criminal record. At the time, he was a fugitive from New Jersey authorities , having been charged with narcotics trafficking.

He became famous with "Gummo" in 2017.

biography 69

Hernandez's first proper single was " Gummo ." Released in November 2017, it hit the Billboard charts and was remixed by Offset and Lil Wayne. The music video showed 6ix9ine at his most colorful, sporting his signature dirty, candy-colored hair and red bandana and carrying bags of what appears to be marijuana.

It was around this time that Hernandez began giving more interviews about his career , and when the 2015 charges against him gained renewed attention.

July was another big month for him — he released a song with Nicki Minaj and was reportedly kidnapped.

biography 69

In 2018, Hernandez seemed to get in trouble with the law again several times. In May, he was reportedly arrested on charges of driving without a proper license and assaulting a police officer. Soon afterwards, he reportedly choked a 16-year-old in Texas and was arrested in New York .

But all of that was overshadowed on July 22. He released "FEFE," his biggest song yet , a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Murda Beatz.

That same night, after a day of shooting the song's music video, Hernandez was reportedly kidnapped. He said two men forced him into a car at a New York City intersection and stole his jewelry, according to a police report viewed by the Associated Press . According to TMZ , the kidnappers also forced him to call his girlfriend for more money at home, and he ultimately escaped by opening the back door of the car.

A member of the Nine Trey Gangsters — also known as Treyway, a part of the Bloods street gang — was charged with the crime in November. Federal authorities believe Hernandez is also a member of the gang .

Hernandez was finally sentenced for the child-sex case.

biography 69

After a number of procedural delays and appeals, Hernandez was sentenced in October to four years of probation and 1,000 hours of community service for the 2015 child-sex case.

The judge didn't sentence Hernandez to any prison time, as prosecutors requested. He drew a distinction between his personal persona and his public one and said that though prosecutors said he was a member of a gang, they didn't actually charge him with any gang-related activities.

That all changed a month later.

In November, federal authorities charged Hernandez with being part of a criminal enterprise.

biography 69

On November 19, federal authorities announced a series of indictments against Hernandez, Jordan, and others they said are members of the Nine Trey Gangsters.

The federal lawsuit — titled United States of America v Jamel Jones, aka "Mel Murder," Kifano Jordan, aka "Shotti," Jensel Butler, aka "Ish," Daniel Hernandez, aka "Tekashi 6ix 9ine," Fugan Lovick, aka "Fu Banga," and Faheem Walter, aka "Crippy" — accuses the crew of running a drug-dealing ring and enforcing their activities through violence. The charges include racketeering and illegal firearms possession. Federal authorities also said the group conspired to commit murder.

If convicted, Hernandez and everyone else charged could face life in prison .

Hernandez initially pleaded not guilty to the charges . A judge denied him bail, citing an FBI raid in September that found a AR-15 and a stolen ID from a man robbed in Times Square.

He also risks being resentenced for his 2015 child-sex conviction, after prosecutors argued his gang activity violated his probation.

After a delay, "Dummy Boy" was released.

biography 69

Despite the criminal charges against him, Hernandez's newest album, "Dummy Boy," was released on November 27. It was panned by critics but debuted at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 chart .

In January, Hernandez pleaded guilty to the charges and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors.

biography 69

On January 23, Hernandez entered a guilty plea to the charges related to his involvement with Trey Nine , according to court records reviewed by INSIDER. He also agreed to cooperate with federal prosecutors in their investigation.

"I paid a person to shoot at a rival member of Nine Trey to scare him. The shooting took place in Manhattan. I did this to maintain or increase my own standing in Nine Trey," Hernandez told the judge,   according to a court transcript .

The plea was initially under seal, as prosecutors were given permission to arrest three other people involved in the case. The Department of Justice announced the arrests on February 1, and Hernandez's plea became public.

A Guide to the Tekashi 6ix9ine Documentary Universe

By Will Schube

Image may contain Skin Human Person Tattoo Musical Instrument and Musician

The latest documentary on Tekashi 6ix9ine, Showtime’s Supervillain: The Making of Tekashi 6ix9ine , follows a Hulu movie ( 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez ) and a Complex podcast ( Infamous: The Tekashi 6ix9ine Story ) about the controversial rapper turned snitch. The basic facts are well-known: 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, rose to fame in New York in 2015 and took off nationally thanks to SoundCloud hits like 2017’s “GUMMO” and 2018’s “Keke,” both of which have since been certified platinum. The appeal of Tekashi is only partially due to his music: The other half of the formula is his look, carefully cultivated and accented by “69” tattoos all over his body and face, in addition to long, rainbow colored dreadlocks that can be spotted from a mile away.

His gang affiliations with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods (also known as the Trey Way Gang) gave him street credibility, but those relationships deteriorated due to a number of legal issues. First came Hernandez’s October 2015 guilty plea to a felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance for a music video. Then came beefs he provoked with rappers like Casanova and Chief Keef, which resulted in gunfire, and were also used as evidence in a racketeering case against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. On February 1st, 2019, Hernandez pled guilty to nine charges. He faced a possible mandatory sentence of 47 years in prison, but less than a month later, a plea deal document revealed that the rapper could avoid jail time in exchange for his willingness to testify against fellow gang members in other investigations. He was eventually given a sentence of two years after testifying against the Nine Trey Gang, though he was released to home confinement in April of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inevitably, the story of Tekashi 6ix9ine is told differently in each documentary, and each has interviews, footage or analysis that doesn’t appear in the others. What unique elements should you look out for when watching or listening to each of them, and which one is best overall? Read through GQ’s guide to the Tekashi 6ix9ine documentary universe to find out.

Hernandez believes his 69 tattoos represent the two sides of his personality. There’s a clip in the Showtime film from one of Hernandez’s IG Live videos in which he spells out how his first name, Daniel, has six letters, and his last, Hernandez, has nine. Get it? Spooky stuff. For Hernandez, 6 and 9 seem to represent flip sides of the same coin ― Danny Hernandez, the soft-spoken, kind boy, and 6ix9ine, the dude who did all types of gang related activity to up his street cred. Perhaps that’s how he justifies his horrific behavior. The Showtime series suggests that Hernandez’s downfall was due in part to losing the separation between his public persona and private life―his falling out with the Trey Way crew stemmed from his inability to separate his antics as 6ix9ine from the quiet, move-in-silence ethos of the gang.

His life philosophy―“the world is a game”―is caught on tape. One unique aspect of the Showtime documentary is the house arrest audio the filmmakers were able to capture, in addition to some brand new photos. A particularly revealing scene revolves around Tekashi’s comment that “the world is a game,” and throughout the film it’s clear that 6ix9ine became an expert at playing it. For example, Hernandez used the Trey Way Bloods to boost his street image, pushing members like Shotti and Seqo Billy to defend him from increasingly dangerous situations. Tekashi is like some dude weaving in and out of traffic, narrowly avoiding wreck after wreck, while innocent drivers who live by a different code total their cars and are then faced with a lifetime of emotional and monetary stress.

The ultimate troll. The Complex podcast tracks how Hernandez exploited our cultural obsession with trolls to relentlessly hammer his 6ix9ine persona into the mainstream. Throughout the series, host Angie Martinez spells out the various ways in which 6ix9ine would keep himself in the spotlight at all costs. Episode four, in particular, dives into his never-ending stream of beefs with other rappers. Throughout his time in the spotlight, 6ix9ine had issues with Ludacris, Chief Keef, Bhad Bhabie, YG, Vic Mensa, and more. Tekashi blurred the line between publicity stunt and actual beef, which made his security team struggle with protection.

Gang members testify against Tekashi on camera. While fairly even-handed for a film about one of the most reviled characters in modern pop culture, the Showtime documentary is filled with peers who have been wronged by Tekashi and are now finally given a chance to speak out against him. Disenchanted Nine Trey Gangsta Blood members who avoided prison because they caught onto 6ix9ine’s bullshit step in front of the camera to help flesh out the man behind the rainbow dreads. Seqo Billy is one of the stars of the Showtime documentary, explaining how 6ix9ine exploited the inner machinations of gang life for his own gain. In the Hulu documentary, Billy is framed more as Tekashi’s biggest supporter than the first to catch onto his bullshit―the music “was trash,” he says, but he was immediately drawn to Tekashi’s videos.

Did Tekashi’s bodyguard betray him? As Seqo Billy removed himself from the Tekashi 6ix9ine situation, another Nine Trey member, Shotti, became his manager, bodyguard, and assistant. He did everything for Tekashi, and he was the rapper’s last link to the gang. Each series dives into Shotti’s association with 6ix9ine, but the Complex podcast dedicates an entire episode to Shotti’s role and the abduction of Tekashi that took place on July 22nd, 2018. Tekashi was kidnapped and robbed by two Nine Trey members, “Harv” and “Nuke,” and while Shotti wasn’t implicated, the podcast asserts that Tekashi was suspicious of Shotti’s dealings. Specifically, the episode dives into Tekashi’s claim that Shotti was stealing money from him.

6ix9ine doesn’t have talent, and he knows it. In a quick clip from the first Showtime episode,Tekashi marvels that “UPS drivers have more talent than me!” When Nine Trey member Billy Ado is asked to name one thing Tekashi has done for the culture, Ado draws a blank. It doesn’t matter to Tekashi, though: He’s an entertainer, and, in his own words, a visionary. The Complex podcast also explores this phenomenon, often noting how Tekashi’s songs aren’t noteworthy in themselves; it's only when he injects his persona (through music videos, livestreams on Instagram, etc.) that his music grows fangs.

6ix9ine had to go to Williamsburg to get his signature rainbow hair. There aren’t many funny moments in this story, but in the Showtime series the mother of Tekashi’s child, Sara Molina, reveals that no one in their BedStuy neighborhood knew how to color Tekashi’s hair in his now-famous rainbow style, so the two walked to Williamsburg until they stumbled upon a woman willing to do it. The stylist, who appears in the documentary, refers to herself as “Tekashi’s Jewish mother.”

The murder of his stepfather was a turning point. All three documentaries point to the murder of Hernandez’s stepfather as a transformative event in his life. The Showtime series casts the tragedy as the moment Hernandez starts becoming 6ix9ine―it’s his supervillain origin story, the catalyst for his realization that the world is a cruel place and it’s every man for himself. The Hulu documentary treats the moment with a bit more empathy, using it as a springboard to examine how trauma can consume someone’s entire identity and shift who they are. The Complex podcast takes an analytical perspective, pitting 6ix9ine’s rough childhood against his trial and the moment his biological father shows up and disrupts the proceedings. His father’s arrival shocked Hernandez, and the podcast highlights how his lack of a paternal figure may have led to his “superstardom at all costs'' identity.

Tekashi abused the mother of his child, and her recounting of the incident is powerful. In one of the Hulu film’s most powerful moments, Sara Molina bravely explains how a night in Dubai turned violent and left her bleeding from her head. The story isn’t new, but seeing Molina on camera, pleading with the audience to view Hernandez as a terror , supplemented by videos taken the night of the event, paints a forceful picture of his violence and horrifying behavior. It’s a powerful moment that adds urgency to the film’s thesis, which is argued more explicitly here than in the other two docs: Tekashi is a villain.

The verdict: Which documentary should you choose? The Complex podcast does an excellent job of laying the groundwork for how 6ix9ine rose to fame, and how his gang ties eventually led to him becoming the most notorious snitch in hip-hop history. The Hulu movie is a more straightforward documentary, putting forth a set of facts and letting the viewer form an opinion. The Showtime original is heavily stylized and skews towards a particular angle: Tekashi’s soullessness will allow him to do anything for fame. If viewers are looking for the most immersive watch, the Showtime documentary is the best place to start. Sure, it’s a bit biased against Tekashi 6ix9ine, but then again, wouldn’t you be too?

A still from 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez. Film-maker Vikram Gandhi: ‘I don’t have an answer on whether the film is good or bad for society.’

The saga of Tekashi 6ix9ine: inside the story of a 'supervillain' rapper

A new documentary examines the life of a SoundCloud star turned convicted criminal, and a culture that makes us ‘all complicit’ in the rise of dangerous attention-seekers

W ith his rainbow-colored tresses and prominent facial tattoos, it’s hard not to stare at SoundCloud rapper and viral sensation Tekashi 6ix9ine. The 24-year-old, who has collaborated with Nicki Minaj and Kanye West, wouldn’t have it any other way. More so than his actual music, the self-proclaimed social media “supervillain,” former gang member, and convicted felon is known for his shocking online antics and run-ins with the law. For him, no publicity is bad publicity – so does the latest Hulu documentary, 69: The Saga of Danny Hernandez, simply play into the young provocateur’s indiscriminate thirst for the spotlight?

Advertised as both an “investigative documentary” and a “gangster story,” the film traces the rapper’s life from childhood up to his arrest in late 2018 on charges that include attempted murder and armed robbery. A year earlier, he had embroiled himself with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, a violent subset of the east coast prison gang, to bolster his image and street credibility. Gummo, his 2017 music video featuring cameos from several of the gang’s members, exploded in popularity. Things escalated quickly. He rode the coattails of associated infamy to break the internet before getting in too deep. Fast forward past multiple convictions and an abbreviated prison sentence due to his cooperation with the authorities, and today 6ix9ine has reached an all-time low as one of the most despised figures in hip hop.

“I was trying to find the moment where internet violence turned into real violence,” film-maker Vikram Gandhi tells the Guardian. “It’s one thing to have the symbols and look of violence with guns and gang affiliation. It’s about when the line is crossed into something else – physical violence, people getting punched in the face, groups going around shooting people – that’s when you know it’s not a show any more.”

Fascinated by the new generation of SoundCloud rappers so divorced from his own conception of New York hip-hop, Gandhi discovered 6ix9ine in 2018 and picked up his camera around the time of his arrest months later. Somewhat of a prankster himself, Gandhi knows a thing or two about posturing for attention. In Kumaré, his 2011 documentary, he posed as a spiritual guru and gained a number of followers despite being a fake. In 69, he drops the costume and plunges into the life and times of the notorious figure whose invented persona became too real for his own good.

Before his rise, 6ix9ine was Danny Hernandez, a first generation New Yorker born to immigrant parents from Mexico and Puerto Rico. Raised in poverty by a single mother and traumatized by his father’s absence and his stepfather’s murder, Hernandez led a difficult childhood in the shadows of anonymity before discovering the powers of Instagram and YouTube. “When I realized he grew up in Bushwick, close to where I live,” Gandhi tells the Guardian in a video call. “I realized I knew exactly the neighborhood he was from and the bodega he worked in.”

Drawing from past interviews, social media posts, audio recordings, videos, court documents, and transcripts, Gandhi summons the digital spirit of Tekashi 6ix9ine without ever actually speaking to him. The rapper’s team ignored Gandhi’s interview requests and has recently denounced the documentary. But for the film-maker, 6ix9ine’s cooperation never really mattered. “When I started I didn’t know if he was going to get out of prison. He could have been sentenced for much longer. I was making the film whether he came out or not,” Gandhi explains. “In long-form film-making you will always have a narrative arc that’s beyond some people’s control. I think [6ix9ine] is inclined to do interviews where he can manipulate the narrative. He lives so much of his life online, anyway. That’s where he really exists. What would he tell me that he hasn’t already said?”

undefined

Indeed, Tekashi is skilled at absorbing bad press and turning it into something positive, knowing that attention is the currency of fame. From his early days designing clothes featuring profanities drawn in big, bold letters, to his button-pushing music videos and high-profile social media beefs, he knows that provocation will rack up the “likes.” In fact, his persona relies on constantly one-upping himself in a never-ending game of dare. In his first music video out of prison, Gooba, he depicts himself as a rat, at once acknowledging his new reputation as a snitch, and shrugging off its importance. The film draws a timeline of his various sentences and controversies, yet no matter the scandal he bounces back, revealing a cold, casual attitude towards his accusers, and those he’s betrayed or harmed.

“None of the information we share is new. But with [the film] we give a human face to a lot of people who in the past have just been depicted as pawns in [6ix9ine’s] story,” Gandhi says. He interviews neighbors and former friends that knew Hernandez before he was throwing gang signs at the camera. But the most poignant of Gandhi’s subjects is Sara Molina, the former girlfriend and mother of Hernandez’s daughter. Molina paints a damning portrait of her ex-beau as a physically abusive partner and indifferent father too addicted to fame to care about anyone but himself. “For everyone in the movie, [6ix9ine] is a triggering person. Almost everybody that I interviewed that was close to him struggled. It was like they were all talking about a good friend that screwed them over.”

A cautionary tale about the destructive powers of fame-seeking in the age of social media, Tekashi’s story might recall that of another American villain skilled in media manipulation. “Dave Chappelle once said after [Donald] Trump was elected that we elected an internet troll as our president. I don’t think that anyone could imagine at the time that the attention that was being given to him might actually make him win.” Gandhi says. “[With Tekashi 6ix9ine], the hip hop world and the internet created a troll and gave him fame and fortune. We’re all complicit in this attention giving economy.”

When asked about the objection some have towards amplifying people who have proven themselves undeserving of the spotlight, Gandhi shrugs: “I don’t have an answer on whether the film is good or bad for society, or good or bad for [6ix9ine’s] career. The only thing I can do is take a subject that is taboo and open it up. I think we have to address things instead of cancel them. Why did this thing happen? If you were someone who was obsessed with the story, or someone who regrets being a fan of his, you can look at the film and say, ‘This is what went down’.”

Who is Tekashi 6ix9ine? Everything you need to know about the controversial rainbow-haired rapper.

The brooklyn-born "scream rap" artist has racked up multiple hits — and legal issues — over the past decade..

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

If you’re of a certain age, it can feel certifiably impossible to keep up with the ever-expanding lineup of hip-hop’s young hitmakers.

There is one face in the rap crowd, though, that you’ve probably seen creep into your feed more often than any other of late. And it’s got a whole mess of tattoos on it.

With rainbow-colored hair and the third most famous face tattoos this side of Mike Tyson and Lil Wayne , 6ix9ine (aka Tekashi69) has one of the music industry’s most distinctive looks. The controversial, oft-troubled “scream rap” artist has also become one of the industry’s most consistent headline-makers, most recently for an incident at a South Florida gym in which the rapper was attacked and brutally beaten by a group of men and rushed to a hospital.

So who in the world is 6ix9nine, and why does his stage name look like your online banking password? Our explainer, below.

His beginnings

6ix9ine, né Daniel Hernandez, was born in 1986 in Bushwick, Brooklyn to a Mexican mother and Puerto Rican father. He was a star baseball player as a youth, attracting interest from major league scouts. He was raised a devout Christian, though barely knew his birth father, who struggled with a heroin addiction. His stepfather was shot and killed in 2010 just steps from their residence. The killing traumatized Hernandez, who acted out in school and was expelled in eighth grade. His family largely lived in poverty after his stepfather’s death.

His explosion

Hernandez began rapping in 2012, and releasing music in 2014. His first song release? The expectedly raunchy trap track “69.” Bill and Ted’s favorite number would soon become part of his official stage name because of yes, the sexual position, but also its mirrored ying-yang symbol. Hernandez adopted “Tekashi” as a nod to the popular character in Katsuhiro Otomo’s famed 1988 anime favorite Akira .

Working with the Slovakian label FCK THEM, Tekashi69 drew attention on Soundcloud and social media over the next couple years for his aggressive cadence and colorful appearance.

His career took off in 2017 with the release of his first commercial single, “Gummo” (an homage to Harmony Korine’s wildly weird 1997 cult film), a diss track aimed at former associates Trippie Redd and SosMula that’s accompanying video featured the rapper flanked by about 100 Nine Trey Gangsta Blood gang members in red bandanas in front of Brooklyn brownstones. The song peaked at No. 12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and its video has 429 million views and counting.

6ix9ine followed up “Gummo” with two more singles, “Kooda” and “Keke” (featuring Fetty Wap and A Boogie wit da Hoodie), all of which would be on his popular mixtape Day69 , released in February 2018. Five months later the rapper released the single “Fefe,” which featured the red-hot Nicki Minaj over production by Murda Beatz and climbed all the way to No. 3 on the Hot 100, ultimately crossing the one billion views mark on YouTube . In November came 6ix9ine’s debut album, Dummy Boy , which also included features from Kanye West, Lil Baby and Tory Lanez, and became certified platinum.

Due largely to a world of legal trouble (see below), 6ix9ine has only released one full-length album since, 2020’s TattleTales . It included the singles “Gooba,” “Yaya,” “Punani” and “Trollz,” which again featured Minaj and became a No. 1 hit.

His controversies and arrest

Hernandez served jail time as a minor for assault and selling heroin, and his troubles escalated almost as soon as his music career popped off.

In 2015, he pled guilty to a felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance after three videos surfaced involving a 13-year-old girl. The rapper denied knowing she was a minor and struck a plea deal.

The year 2018 was a doozy. On June 2, Chicago drill rapper Chief Keef was fired upon outside a New York City hotel, which Hernandez later pled guilty to for paying $20,000 to orchestrate. On July 12, he was arrested for allegedly choking a 16-year-old in a Houston mall (charges were eventually dropped). On July 22, he was kidnapped, beaten and robbed shortly after shooting the video for “Fefe.”

And on Nov. 18, just a week before the release of Dummy Boy , Hernandez was arrested on federal racketeering charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, and faced up to 47 years in prison. In February 2019, the rapper struck a plea deal and testified against Nine Trey gang members. He was sentenced to only two years in prison, but was granted an even earlier release in April 2020 due to concerns over COVID given his pre-existing asthma condition; he served out the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until August.

While in prison, Hernandez admitted to seven years of domestic abuse reportedly against his ex-girlfriend (and the mother of the oldest of his two daughters), Sara Molina.

Several rappers have condemned Hernandez for his cooperating with prosecutors in the Nine Trey case, and he’s had a long list of feuds with folks in the industry including Meek Mill, King Von, 50 Cent, YG, Future, Lil Durk, Lil Treese, Lil Tjay and probably one or two other Lils.

Three suspects were arrested this week for the alleged assault and robbery.

His daughter’s mom is Martha Gold.

Hi Emily Thanks for reporting the missing info. Can you please send the source of your news where it is cleared mentioned that Martha Gold is the mother of his daughter?

Excuse me Emily and Staff. Did he date that mentally ill 13 year old Floridian ghetto wannabe from Dr. Phil? You already know that she’s a rapper now. And her (real) name is under the Related section of his Other Wiki article whenever you Google him.

Who? Tell me is it danielle bregoli or cohn?

They are both from Florida. It’s Danielle Bregoli. According to his latest mugshot he is 169 cm and 68 kg 150 pounds.

Wrong. Her name is Sara.

What is his dads name.

Emily how do you know that. 6ix9ine weighs 66 kg and stands at 169 cm tops.

According to his latest mugshot he’s 5’7 and weighs 150 pounds

He also has an older brother

Hello Michael

Please send us the sources for both the information – height, weight, and siblings.

Hello Michael Can you please send us the link to that mugshot?

Some websites are saying 5’6″

How is he tall at all? There’s a video where you can clearly see his guards that are 5’9-6’0 are WAY taller than his little ass!!

5’7 is pretty short for an adult male

No it’s not. Not really. In fact the adult white American male is about 5’7-5’8

He’s not white though

He’s not black either.

I thought he was dating Jade a.k.a. Sara Her instagram is ohsoyoujade

Alright but he is big black. Could be multiracial. I could have seen a more recent picture of this dude. Height warring on this topic. He could be between 5’5″ to 5’8″

Some people are saying Free 6ix9ine. I just listened to the beginning of Gummo and he sounds like a drunk person. He shouldn’t be alive anymore. Guards if you can please kill 6ix9ine. Because he is a terrible person.

6ix9ine Returns With New Song and Defiant Livestream: ‘I Ratted’

The rapper was released from prison early because he was vulnerable to the coronavirus. He released his first new track, “Gooba,” then spoke candidly to an audience of two million.

biography 69

By Ben Sisario

On Friday afternoon, the rapper and Instagram star 6ix9ine released a new song, “ Gooba ” — the first new music he has put out since a federal judge in April allowed him to finish the remaining months of his two-year sentence for racketeering and other charges in home confinement .

The song is classic 6ix9ine : spitfire verses filled with boasts about himself and taunts to his detractors. In the music video, the tattooed Brooklyn rapper — who had a meteoric rise presenting himself as a hardened criminal — appeared in candy-colored braids, surrounded by scantily clad dancers who were doused in paint as they twerked. A shrewd self-marketer, he immediately told his fans on Twitter how to buy the clothes he wore .

But the real performance was on Instagram Live.

Shortly after the song was released, 6ix9ine fired up his Instagram account for a livestreamed rant that lasted about 13 minutes and was seen by as many as two million people. 6ix9ine (also known as Tekashi69) has been watched closely by the rap world since he avoided a long sentence — he had faced as much as 37 years — by cooperating with prosecutors against his former gang mates in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

Instead, the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was sentenced to just two years, and was released early after his lawyer argued that the rapper’s asthma made him vulnerable to coronavirus while in prison.

The lyrics to “Gooba” — which was released on the rapper’s 24th birthday — were mildly defiant. But in his live video he addressed with astonishing candor accusations that he was a “rat” for cooperating with authorities. He spoke of attempts on his life and theft of his money, and said that people had tried to kidnap his mother, answering barbs that he’d betrayed his loyalty to the gang by arguing they hadn’t been loyal to him.

“I snitched; I ratted,” he said. “But who was I supposed to be loyal to?”

The rapper stood in what seemed to be a small bedroom, with a ceiling fan and a neatly made bed visible behind him. At the start of the livestream, two women with pastel-colored hair danced next to him and helped him remove heavy jewelry. (He boasted of a diamond-encrusted shark pendant costing “half a million.”)

He added: “I want to say thank you to the judge for allowing me to come home to my family.”

But 6ix9ine came most alive in teasing other rappers, positioning his flip to become a cooperating witness as part of a comeback narrative.

“We can’t beef; there’s no beef — I’m the king, y’all know this,” he said, addressing his competition.

“You know why people so mad?” he added. “Because they thought it was over for me. They counted me out. ‘Oh, you ratted, it’s over for you.’ Y’all could never cooperate with the government and come back. Y’all could never do that. I’m a living legend at the age of 24.”

The location of 6ix9ine’s confinement is not public, and none was listed for the “Gooba” music video, though like several other pandemic-era music videos , it was clearly a professional production. Representatives of the federal Bureau of Prisons did not immediately respond to a question on Friday about whether the making of the video — which featured as many as six dancers — had violated the terms of his confinement order. 6ix9ine had asked the judge for permission to shoot a video in his backyard.

There was never any serious doubt that, even in prison, Tekashi69 would continue his rap career. Late last year, shortly before he was sentenced, he signed a new recording deal worth a reported $10 million. His lawyer said he had no intention of entering witness protection. The bigger question was whether his cooperation with law enforcement would undermine his tough-guy persona.

In 6ix9ine’s view, it had not.

“I’m still the King of New York,” he tweeted shortly after the stream was over, with an image of the Instagram feed showing his number of viewers: “2M.”

Mark Harmon

NCISLOS ANGELES - OCTOBER 25: Mark Harmon of the CBS series NCIS, scheduled to air on the CBS Television Network. (Photo by Kevin Lynch/CBS via Getty Images)

Born in California in 1951, Mark Harmon is best known for playing a doctor on the long-running show St. Elsewhere , as well as for his roles on Chicago Hope and NCIS (formerly known as NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service ). In 1985, Harmon was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive." In 2002, he appeared in a guest role on the political drama The West Wing . More recently, he's become known for several roles in television movies.

Born on September 2, 1951, in Burbank, California, actor Thomas Mark Harmon faced some challenges growing up. His father, Tom Harmon, worked as a sports broadcaster. This meant that he often traveled, leaving his wife Elyse Knox, a former actress, to look after the couple's three children. Mark deeply felt his father's absence. Even when his father was home, their relationship was not easy. "He raised me hard, and when I say hard, I mean hard. I was taught to fight for everything," Harmon told People magazine.

The two, however, shared a love of sports. His father had won the 1940 Heisman Trophy for playing college football, and Mark was a stellar football player as well. He served as the starting quarterback for the University of California, Los Angeles, for two seasons, but Harmon decided against pursuing a career in professional football. During his youth, Harmon's sister Kristen began dating Ricky Nelson, the son of television legends Ozzie Nelson and Harriet Nelson. Through this connection, Harmon was offered a walk-on role on the show Ozzie's Girls (1972–73). Harmon had not previously considered acting, but the experience gave the athlete a taste for Hollywood.

Making it in Hollywood

Graduating with a degree in communications in 1974, Harmon turned down offers of up to $40,000 to train as a pro in order to try law school. He then left the law to work for an advertising agency. This also dissatisfied Harmon, who then took a job selling shoes to athletes. Feeling unfulfilled, Harmon decided to try his hand at more acting roles.

At the beginning of his acting career, Harmon looked to veteran actor Jack Webb, the star of the crime series Dragnet , for advice. Webb helped him land a guest spot on the crime drama Adam-12 (1968–1975). A string of guest appearances soon followed; typically the roles involved a silent, handsome stranger without speaking lines. "The guys I played didn't have names. I was the cop, the farmer," he told USA Today . His first notable TV role came in 1977 with the movie Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years , for which he received an Emmy Award nomination.

Still, Harmon had yet to get his big break. To support himself, he worked as a roofer during the day, and honed his acting skills while performing in theatrical productions in the Los Angeles area at night. In 1981, he landed a leading role in the prime-time soap opera Flamingo Road , playing an ambitious politician who married into a wealthy Florida family. Morgan Fairchild starred as his wife and Cristina Raines appeared as his love interest. Harmon and Raines became an item off-screen as well. The drama was canceled in 1982, but Harmon and Raines continued to date, touring the U.S. and Canada in the play Key Exchange . The couple split two years later. Harmon was particularly heart-broken by the break-up, and rebounded in a brief romance with actress Heather Locklear.

Harmon quickly moved on to another TV series as well: the medical drama St. Elsewhere . He joined the cast during the critically acclaimed program's second season. On the show, Harmon played plastic surgeon Dr. Bobby Caldwell alongside such actors as Denzel Washington, David Morse, Ed Begley Jr., William Daniels and Howie Mandel.

As Dr. Caldwell, Harmon helped promote awareness about AIDS. His character contracted the disease during his third season with the show. Harmon's character showed that a heterosexual male was just as likely to get AIDS as other segments of the population. "That was an important piece of information to get out, because there was a consensus at the time that AIDS was the result of a certain lifestyle, and that was dead wrong," Harmon told Entertainment Weekly .

Also in 1986, Harmon took on one of the most notorious figures in recent history. He gave a convincing performance as serial killer Ted Bundy in the TV movie The Deliberate Stranger . Bundy was known for his ability to charm his victims, and Harmon was able to deliver both the suave and sinister aspects of Bundy's personality. This dark role did not affect his public image as a heartthrob, however. He was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for 1986.

Personal Life

Harmon took his sister, actress Kristin Harmon Nelson, to court out of concern for his nephew's well being. Kristin, once married to rocker Ricky Nelson, had been experiencing problems with substance abuse. The legal battle divided the Harmon family with Harmon, his other sister Kelly, and his parents siding against Kristin. Harmon eventually dropped the suit to put an end to all of the fighting.

Diverse Roles

Harmon found some success on the big screen around this time. In 1987, he starred as Mr. Freddy Shoop in the comedy Summer School . He then went on to leading roles in the military drama The Presidio with Sean Connery, and drama Stealing Home with Blair Brown, Harold Ramis, and Jodie Foster. In 1991, Harmon returned to series TV with the police drama Reasonable Doubts with Marlee Matlin. He played a detective assigned to work with a deaf, assistant district attorney (Matlin). The show was canceled after two seasons.

Harmon's next series had an even shorter run. Only five episodes of 1995's detective series Charlie Grace made it on air. He had much better luck when he joined the cast of David E. Kelley's medical drama Chicago Hope in 1996. On the show, he played an orthopedic surgeon. "Having been a carpenter, I feel close to this character. So much of what they do in the surgical theater is like working with wood," he told Entertainment Weekly . Working on the series also gave him more time with his family, which included two sons, Sean and Ty, by this time.

In 1996, Harmon proved to be a real-life hero when he rescued two teenagers trapped in a jeep accident near his home. Harmon used a 12-pound sledgehammer to break the windshield to free the teens before the vehicle blew up.

After Chicago Hope ended its run in 2000, Harmon appeared in several TV movies. He also landed a guest role on the political drama The West Wing in 2002. Playing a secret service agent, Harmon won accolades for his work on the series. He even received an Emmy Award nomination for his portrayal of Simon Donovan. This performance helped Harmon get his next big break.

TV producer Don Bellisario saw Harmon's work on The West Wing and thought he would be a great fit for his next project. He needed to cast the lead investigator, Leroy Jethro Gibbs, in the military crime procedural NCIS . "What I saw was a very controlled presence, a quiet strength. That's what I was looking for. Leroy is Mark's kind of guy. Mark has that jock mentality—you tough it out no matter how tough it is," Bellisario told Entertainment Weekly .

Originally called Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service , NCIS debuted in 2003 and soon built up a strong following. It was developed as a spin-off from the popular Navy legal series JAG starring David James Elliott and Catherine Bell. In addition to Harmon's Special Agent Gibbs, the NCIS team includes Agent Tony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly), Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum) and Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette).

On the series, Harmon has been able to display his abilities as an actor, ranging from light comedy to serious drama. Harmon says the character "can be really good at his job ... but so much of his life is really tormented and dark, and I don't know if he'll ever recover from it. I think he would be an uncomfortable guy to have dinner with."

In 2007, Harmon and Bellisario had a dispute about how the show was being run. There was some issues over the actors getting their scripts late and Harmon complained to the network. Bellisario was replaced and a new show-runner was brought in. "This is a hard enough thing to do when everything is going right. We've made changes, and we're better organized now," Harmon explained to USA Today .

Three years later, audiences remain enthralled with Harmon's character, and with the show. NCIS averages more than 20 million viewers each week, making it one of TV's most popular programs.

Off-screen, Harmon seems to be an easy-going, down-to-earth person. He is known by his colleagues for his dedication, sense of humor, and lack of pretension. "He's one of those guys who makes you say, 'They don't make them like that anymore,'" his wife Pam explained to In Style magazine.
