Welcome to  Campus Times Nigeria , are you searching for information on how to get your WAEC Statement of result or Certificate? This article will guide you on how to process the collection of your original WAEC certificate without stress.

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) is organized and administered by the West African Examination Council.

Upon completion of the exams, an academic school leaving  certificate  are awarded to successful candidates.

When a student graduates from a secondary school, the school issues a WAEC Statement of Results with its letterhead, which can be used in the absence of the original copy of the WAEC certificate. This is because receiving one’s original WAEC certificate can take up to a year after the exams.

There are two different types of the examination:

WASSCE (May/June)

Also known as the Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE), by its former  name ; this examination is made for all private and public schools in West Africa.

They must wear distinctive uniforms as described in the standards set by the school boards. This examination is offered during the summer (May to June), and the results are available by August.

WASSCE (November/December)

Also known as the General Certificate Examinations (GCE), by its former name; all students from private and public schools are allowed to take this examination, and uniforms are not compulsory.

However, other rules and regulations are applied to every candidate. This examination is only offered during the autumn season, and the results are available by December. It is also called private examinations of which now its compulsory to register biometrically.

How Much Is WAEC Original Certificate?

As at the time of compiling this post, there is no actual price for the collection of WAEC Certificate (we don’t know if WAEC fixes price for the collection of certificate). It, however, depends on where you wrote your WAEC.

Some schools collect as low as #2000 while others collect #5000 and above. With little negotiation, the school might reduce the price for you.

How To Get WAEC Statement Of Result Or Certificate?

Before the year runs out after you wrote the WASSCE, you can always get your certificate from the school you registered to write the examination.

WAEC would have printed and dispatched the certificates to schools for collection by candidates. You will need to visit your school to get yours now.

Private candidates can get their certificates from WAEC directly. If you are one, yours could be collected at any of the WAEC offices nationwide. Visit the one near you to find out how to go about it.

Collect clearance form in Room 002.

Visit  https://unilag.edu.ng  Click “ Unilag payment portal  on staff login”, then click “ others ”, scroll through the payment items then click HRDC Certificate. Complete other details which include

• N3000  for Statement of Result.
• N5000  for Certificate
• N5000  for Transcripts

Printout the  Remita Code  and proceed to any of the banks on campus to make payment.                        (This process excludes HKHE AND SDA programmes).  Complete the clearance form and take it to your Coordinator for endorsement.

Present your payment teller, clearance form, a copy of your admission letter and school fee receipt at Room 003 (Accounts Office) for confirmation and endorsement.

Write an application letter for collection of certificate and statement of results. Attach the signed clearance form, original bank teller, a photocopy of your tuition fee receipt and admission letter to the application letter and submit at the Director’s Office Room 203, HRDC.

Application for the student transcript gives students’ access to the unofficial copy of the results transcript. To apply for the student copy transcripts kindly follow the following steps

Step 1: Login to the student portal (http://studentportal.unilag.edu.ng)

Step 2: Click the "Student Academic Transcript" under Results menu

Step 3: Provide your recent email address and specify the programme you wish to apply for and submit

Step 4: Make payment online or logon to remita.net, click on Bills & Purchase, then click on Pay RRR invoice (please note that the RRR number is located on the payment advice)

Step 5: Payment can also be made by Printing out the Payment Advice and Pay at any commercial bank in Nigeria

Step 6: The Student Copy Academic Transcript will be emailed to the specified email address and will also be available on the student portal for download
