Offer review date - what you need to know.
In a strong home sellers market like Seattle, where the inventory is low and there are too many buyers competing for too few homes, the majority of homes that are listed for sale will set an offer review deadline.
In real estate, the offer review date is the day and time that the seller has selected to review any and all buyer offers that are submitted on their home. Interested buyers must submit their offer by the stated deadline. However, the seller still retains the right to accept an early offer and is not obligated to honor the offer review date.
The two main ways home sellers decide to review offers.
Listing practices will vary around the country, but in the Seattle area at least, when a home is listed for sale and the listing information is uploaded into the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) by their agent, the sellers can check one of two boxes:
- The seller will review offers upon receipt.
- The seller will review offers on Offer Review Date (may review/accept sooner).
Listings That Review offers Upon Receipt.
When the sellers tag their listing with the s eller will review offers upon receipt , the implication is that they will accept the first good offer that meets their expectations.
In a competitive market, when the seller does not set an offer review date, it usually means that they are not expecting multiple offers on the home. That could be for a number of reasons including the fact that they know they are pushing the price (despite their own agent's advice) or the home has some aspects that might reduce buyer appeal like a noisy location or the home has an odd layout
For homes with no offer review deadlines, an interested buyer can jump in and make an offer whenever they want. If it's the only offer and one that the seller likes, then the seller is likely to accept the offer
However, buyers should be aware that if the home unexpectedly starts getting a lot of interest and early offers, the seller might turn around and decide to set an offer review deadline after all to increase competition for the home and to try and drive up the sales price. And that usually gets buyers riled up and feeling manipulated.
Even if the seller hasn't set an offer review deadline, as soon they get that one offer, the listing agent might start calling all the other agents who have shown the home previously to try and leverage the offer for a better one. Don't take it personally, the listing agent is just doing their job trying to get as much as possible for the seller.

In Seattle's seller's market, about 9 out of 10 listings that come on the market will set an offer review deadline. The home will usually come on the market in the middle of the week and the offer review deadline will be set for the following Tuesday or Wednesday, sometimes sooner.
The idea behind this timeline is to give buyers and their agents enough time to see the home and decide if they want to make an offer. For a properly priced home, setting an offer deadline usually results in increased competition for the home and a higher number of offers. This then forces buyers into deciding which contingencies they are willing to waive in order to win the bidding war.
Also, by allowing a set period of time between coming on the market and reviewing offers, the seller is hoping that the most interested buyers will do a pre-inspection of the home, waive the inspection contingency in their offer and buy the home as-is. Sellers love offers without an inspection addendum because the buyer is giving up their number one way of getting out of the sale and walking with their earnest money.
In competitive real estate markets, things can get a little irrational and desperate buyers will start making riskier and risker offers to win the home. Know your limits and when to step back and just wait for the next batch of new listings.
The pros and cons of setting an offer review date - from the seller's perspective.
The advantages of an offer review deadline:.
- Setting a review date usually generates increased buyer competition for the home, resulting in more offers while driving the sales price up.
- Generates offers with fewer contingencies, aka cleaner offers . Some buyers will pre-inspect the home and waive the inspection contingency while others will go a step further either by partially or fully waiving the appraisal and other contingencies.
- The seller gets to control the period of time between when the home goes on the market and when offers will be reviews and then focus on packing, moving, and getting ready to close.
- The seller retains the right to accept an early offer and does not have to honor the offer review date. Note that some listing will expressly state: the seller will honor the offer review date. In those situations, the seller usually does abide by that promise because karma is a...
- If a motivated buyer tries to make an early offer they know that it will have to be a really strong one with less than the full complement of contingencies. The offer will probably be a lot stronger than the equivalent one submitted for the offers will be reviewed upon receipt option.
Some potential disadvantages of using an offer review date:
- Just because a seller sets a day and time to review offers, it does not mean that the listing is guaranteed to get multiple offers or even one offer. Even in a hot market, the home still has to be priced and marketed properly. Buyers are very savvy these days and are armed with apps and statistics and recognize over-priced homes and lemons when they walk into one.
- Buyers who have missed out on a couple of homes after paying for a pre-inspection to improve their offers will quickly tire of offer deadlines and may decide to just sit this one out . And those buyers might have made really good offers.
- If there are other nearby listings that have set the same day to review offers, then buyers will be forced to decide as to which home to make an offer on, probably resulting in fewer offers on each home.
- Some buyers may not be willing to wait until the offer date and the inevitable bidding frenzy and just decide to go after a home with no offer review date. However, in a strong seller's market, nearly all listings will have offer review dates.
- If the seller accepts an early too-good-to-say-no-to-offer , they will be risking the ire of a lot of other buyers and their agents. The listing agent will be making a lot of humble pie phone calls. At a minimum, the listing agent should contact all the Realtors who have shown the home already to notify them that the seller is considering accepting an early offer and give those buyers a chance to submit a quick offer. Again, however, the seller is under no obligation to do this. But they should because they might get an even better offer.
- Experienced agents and their buyers will usually wait until the last couple of hours before the deadline to submit their offers. The buyer's agent wants to try and get as much information as possible on the competition before submitting their offer. So basically, the listing agent and their seller might have to deal with a tsunami of offers just before the deadline expires. But that's more of an inconvenience rather than a disadvantage.
To summarize in regards to Offer Review Dates- What you Need to Know: there are both pros and cons to using this strategy when selling a home. In a hot seller's market, it does tend to generate higher and better offers by increasing buyer competition. However, just because you set an offer deadline does not guarantee that you will get lots of offers or any offers for that matter. You still have to market your home properly, and that includes getting the listing price right.

Why we usually can't tell when a review is fake

Human beings have always loved reviews: word of mouth has long been regarded as one of the most valuable marketing tools available to a company. But the internet has made us all review mad. We love giving reviews, and we have grown to depend on them, too.
Researchers have found that more than 99 percent of consumers read reviews online before they shop, and nearly three quarters of consumers say they've left an online review for a local business in the past year. Not only do we read a lot of reviews before we purchase anything these days, we also believe them: 49 percent of consumers say they trust reviews as much as they do personal recommendations from friends and family members. And younger people are particularly fond of reviews: 91 percent of 18 to 34-year-olds say they trust online reviews every bit as much as they do personal recommendations.
This isn't really surprising: the internet has expanded our product offerings a dizzying amount, and we need information about the mountain of goods and services before we buy them. Reviews are an obvious solution. The problem is that a lot of those reviews are fake. And, worse, we humans are not very good at spotting which ones are real and which are bogus.
Feeling out the fakes
Shabnam Azimi and Alexander Krasnikov of Loyola University of Chicago and Kwong Chan of Northeastern University recently published a study about how fake reviews manage to fool us.
Azimi says they started from a point that had already been well established by previous studies, that we humans are generally not good at detecting deception . And that's when we're face-to-face with each other. Trying to tell when we're being conned is even more difficult when we're using text.
The study used a dataset of 1600 reviews of Chicago hotels. Some of them were real; others were fake. The reviews were presented to 400 subjects: each subject got eight reviews to read: a balanced set of two positive fake, two positive real, two negative fake and two negative real, presented in a random order. The reviews were written by real people who were given information about the hotel and told to work it into the review.
"This is what happens in real life," Azimi says. "The writers of those fake reviews, sometimes they're hired by companies. They get paid a high amount of money and they have to sound pretty real." And not just to write a glowing review of a product or a hotel. "You can always hire somebody to write a negative review about your competition," she points out.
The results were illuminating, showing that consumers generally trust negative reviews more than positive ones. Moreover, we humans appear to have a bias towards assuming that positive reviews might be fake, Azimi says.
"Overall, negative reviews are less common than positive ones. So, that's why we pay more attention to them. So it's a totally different processing of positive versus negative information. But when a negative (review) is fake, we get fooled by it."
When asked why they thought a bad review was trustworthy, participants revealed that they assumed that a negative diatribe about a company would be more truthful than a glowing endorsement. They didn't fully account for the possibility that the reviewer might want to harm the business.
The characteristics of the con
Many of us believe that we can spot liars. There is a world of literature and research devoted to the study of the "signals of deception": gaze avoidance, fidgeting, restless foot and leg movements and so on. There's the Paul Ekman hypothesis of facial micro-expressions as indicators of lies. There are numerous professional courses offered, claiming that they can train a person to spot a liar.
But there is no scientific support for any of these hypotheses or approaches. In fact, the science suggests that our ability to detect lying vs. truthful witnesses is mediocre , at best. And that's when we're face to face with someone. So how do we stand a chance when we're reading something online, and we aren't able to see a person's mannerisms or expressions?
It could be that without those distractions, we might do better at identifying fakes. There is a theory that it's easier to determine whether someone is telling the truth when one reads the account of what they say, rather than seeing them say it.
Azimi, Chan and Krasnikov's study suggests that we're no better with text than we are in person, although the liar's tools may be different when he or she is writing, as opposed to talking.
When it came to faking a review, length was important to believability, as was detail. A long, negative review of a hotel, complete with lots of information, tended to convince participants. A lengthy, positive review, on the other hand, was regarded as suspicious, and participants tended to trust writers that kept their glowing reviews short.
Emotion was also important in convincing readers — or the lack of emotion, at least. Azimi says study participants tended not to trust reviews where the writers expressed their feelings in a big way. The more dispassionate that negative write-up, the more likely it was to take the reader in.
Other keys to a convincing review were the fluency of the writing, and the readability of the text. With a positive review, the more the test read like an ad, Azimi says, the less likely the participant was to believe it. Typos and grammatical errors, meanwhile, tended not to sway people either way.
Finally, the study authors wanted to see whether there was a certain type of person that was more susceptible, or more capable of detecting fakes. So they selected participants that conformed to the Big Five personality types : extroversion, agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness and neuroticism. It turns out that people who display openness, and tend to be adventurous and intellectually curious, are better at spotting fake reviews than other personality types. Extroverted people, on the other hand, tend to have a harder time identifying a fake review.
Machine manipulation
The fake reviews written for Azimi's study were put together by humans, but increasingly, fake reviews are being written by machines . In the past, these bogus endorsements or critiques have been relatively easy to spot, but programs like ChatGPT and other neural networks are now being used to generate realistic reviews that can swamp a business's website.
Many companies that host reviews, like Amazon, Tripadvisor or Expedia use algorithms to weed out fake reviews. But Azimi points out that the machines are programmed by humans, and given our inability to sort the wheat from the chaff when it comes to fake reviews, this doesn't bode well.
The conclusion? When it comes to reviews, it's wiser to be skeptical. We can't be sure whether a machine wrote that review, or, if it was a human, whether they're telling the truth. We can't trust them. Unfortunately, it seems, we can't trust ourselves, either.

Changing review date of company or scheme
Each year we send your company or scheme an annual statement shortly after the annual review date.
There are some cases where you may need to change your annual review date (i.e. to align dates across companies). A request to change a review date will be considered if the company or companies have:
- a common ultimate holding company
- a common officeholder
- a common responsible entity
- exceptional circumstances
We will not change the annual review date to assist a registered agent in managing their workload (i.e. spread the review dates of the companies represented evenly across the year).
How do I apply to change my review date?

You can apply at any time if you are:
- an officeholder of the company or
- a responsible entity for a scheme.
To apply complete the Application to change the review date of a company or registered scheme (Form 488). Only one application is required if you want to align multiple companies or schemes.
You must include the application fee with the form.
It may take us up to 28 days to consider your application. We will write to tell you the outcome.
If I change my review date when does the new review take affect?
Changing your review date can result in two annual reviews in the first financial year. The annual review fee is only payable on the first annual statement and no charge applies on the second annual statement.
All other requirements do apply. This includes the need to review and change your details and pass a solvency declaration.

Our 2022 Transparency Report has landed
Scam. They make it as hard as possible to unsubscribe, unsubscribing means submitting a ticket and asking to be removed. Later they told me they've done that, but they charge me for the next month anyway. I'm thinking of legal action. Do not use this website. Bunch of scammers.

I understand how paywalls work but to have such a basic feature locked behind one isn't going to get people to sign up, but rather use another dating app and simply add Gaming to their interests hashtags.

Never able to view messages or likes
Tried signing up for this site and it did not do any of the VIP paid version because there should be an option to communicate with people without paying. Usually the more expensive version of a dating app gets you some perks but clearly it seems like you have to pay no matter what to to view likes or see any messages which is completely pointless and screams SCAM to me. Only wanted to try it because I saw the ads and, although not a gamer, I am a nerd & other nerdy dating sites have burned me in the past. Those were by the users not by the site. So I guess I am back to lack of trusting dating sites again.

I've gotten messages every day but the only ones I can see are clearly bots. The ones from real people I have to pay for. That's just weird to me. Why are they sending or allowing only fake messages? Huhhh!?!?!?!. If half the messages they let me preview were actually real, I'd consider paying to see the others but it's a huge scam.

Cancelled My Membership 3 Times
I have tried to cancel my membership 3 times. I keep getting charged the $60 to use this membership. It's ridiculous, its annoying. I needed that money and they keep taking it and won't cancel the account. I'm infuriated. I don't even know what to do anymore. I want a refund but I probably won't be able to get one because this cite is infuriating with basically zero customer service help.

Misleading, confusing and disappointing!
Most of the interactive functions are behind a paywall and all of the information regarding memberships and payment options is not clear or concise. This is leading to myself and many others it seems have been taken advantage of. Personally I would avoid this site as there are better options on the market but if you do please read through the membership and terms and conditions VERY CAREFULLY as everything is in small print and if u make a mistake there are no refunds!!! Lesson learnt!

I saw an ad on Instagram and I liked the idea. Saw that the free had "limited messaging" so thought it would be an interesting look. Apparently by that it means to see that you were sent a message but not even get to read it. Not a good first impression.

Absolute scam
Absolute scam, you cannot do anything without paying for VIP, you will receive a heap of interest while not a VIP with messages flowing in from bot accounts. Once you pay to see the messages they are random generic questions prying for information on your personal circumstances. THIS IS PURELY AN INFORMATION PHISHING SCAM!!! DO NOT JOIN OR GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. I have since cancelled my card and issued a charge back, disgusting taking advantage of peoples emotional states. F these guys.

Appauling service. Paid for VIP and decided within an hour it wasn't worth it. Contacted to close my account and request a refund and they have decided I am not applicable for a full refund and have only offered less than half what was paid. I have since contacted my bank to request a chargeback to be issued.

Too much hidden behind a pay wall
Too much hidden behind a pay wall. Also not many people who use the site are Geeks. I refuse to pay as it is very expensive in my opinion. Also kind of weird as I have some of the men on there put pregnant on their profile.

Fake. You get bot generate messages from fake profiles. If you reply - you get no reply back. Suddenly you get a reply, just two days before your monthly renewal date, funnily enough. No option to delete your account, leaving your personal data on there (pretty sure they're contravening GDPR). You have to submit a support ticket, which leads to you getting another email form another support site. In short, yet more scummy people, making the world a scummier place. Don't give them anything and let's hope they leave this planet sooner rather than later without any progeny.

Very limited capabilities without paying, tons of bots and no way to talk to anyone without getting your card out. Super disappointing. To top it off no way to close your account without requesting it.

Change in "under review" date
I submitted a research paper to a journal on 30th July 2015 and its status went 'under review' on 19th August 2015. I did not receive any communication from the journal, so I sent a gentle reminder on 11th Dec. 2015. Unfortunately I did not receive any response again. I then waited until 29th Jan 2016 and sent a reminder email again. Fortunately, the editor replied with "Your paper has been partially reviewed and we are waiting for remaining reviewers' response." The editor assured me that they will encourage the reviewer to submit the response.
Now, the status of the paper has changed from "Under review, date 19th Aug. 2015" to "Under review, date 2nd Feb. 2016".
I do not know what should I comprehend from this change in date?

When the status remains the same, but the status date changes, this often indicates that some of the reviewer comments have been added to the database and the editor has started accessing the database to view the comments. This also corroborates with what the editor has mentioned in his email to you. Probably, one of the reviewers has submitted the review while the others have not yet done so. Once all the reviews come in, the status will change to "required reviews completed."
My guess is that the reviewer they were waiting for has withdrawn or been dropped and a different reviewer been assigned. There are other internal actions that might cause the same sort of visible change as well, but all of them likely signify progress toward receiving your response.

I have experienced such situations as an author, reviewer, and editor. Generally, the reason for such change is that due to delay in reviewer's response or unable to provide review on the paper due to lack of sufficient knowledge in that area. In such case, editor assign a new reviewer in order to review the paper. Normally, each paper must be reviewed by at least 2 independent reviewers, and some editors (like me) prefer 3 reviews so that it becomes easy to take appropriate decision in case any two reviews contradict. Also, if the editor already have received a review or two, he/she asks assigned reviewer to provide review strictly within the review period defined by the journal. I hope you will get the reviews of your paper within the review time of the journal (after Feb. 2'16).

Members can interact with each other a few different ways, including via the site’s emailing system (free), instant chat (for paying members only), and Mega Wink (free, but you need to pay to personalize the feature). Using Mega Wink is kind of like throwing a catchall net into the pool -- you don’t exactly know what fish you’re going to collect. That aside, it’s a good way to get the ball rolling and warm up your chatting chops.
Once you get the hang of Date.com and exhaust all the perks of the free account, you may want to upgrade to one of the site’s payment plans. Doing this will get you access to some of the more advanced features, such as custom Mega Winks and instant chat.
Sign-Up Process
It takes no more than five minutes to set up an account on Date.com . All you need to do is answer a few basic questions about your appearance, age and location. Once you have a profile, then you have the choice of filling out more detailed descriptions about yourself, things you like doing in your free time, favorite date spots, and how you imagine your ideal date. There’s also a section in your profile for you to add details like favorite movies, books, sports, and hobbies. Overall, for a simple dating site, Date.com is pretty thorough.
Note: You can indicate that you’re interested in guys, girls, or both. That said, Gay.Date.com (a Date.com counterpart) is designed specifically for the gay experience.
Members/Interactions
Date.com seems to attract a pretty wide range of members, but the advanced search is a helpful and effective way to narrow down your results. You can also search by who’s online if you like the thrill of chatting with someone right away. Once you’ve selected a member to get in touch with, you have the choice to either send them an email, show interest via wink, or save them to your favorites.
Key Features
- Mega Wink lets you “blast a message to crowds of members [to] get tons of actions.” Date.com will suggest what message to send out, with examples like “Want to chat sometime?” or “Your profile is amazing.” Seems like a good way to get the ball rolling, but also a bit insincere to use too often. Otherwise, you can write your own Mega Wink message, but only if you’re a paying member. - The Favorites feature lets you save profiles you’re interested in and archives them in a tab for easy access. Similarly, you can save certain search settings if you think that you will want to repeatedly browse a specific type of result. - Site Activity is located in the top right-hand corner of your home page and is a great way to get a glance at all your profile stats, including: number of new messages, number of new members (+ near you), number of people presently active on IM, and how many people have viewed your profile.
Safety & Security

Set a Date for Reviewing your Task
Review, start and due date.
Organize distinguishes between three dates for each task
- Start Date: This is when a task is supposed to start. This does not necessarily mean you have to do it at this time, but it becomes valid at this time. If you want to purchase a new Mac in June, the start date would be June 1st. - Due Date: This is the date when the task is supposed to be completed. If you want to purchase a new Mac in June this would be June 30. - Next Review Date: This is your reminder date when you want to have a look at this task. If you want to purchase a new Mac in June this could be June 5th, because you plan to go to your Apple Store on this day.
Date planning is mostly done with the Next Review Date. If you have short tasks that don't take too much time, just set the Next Review Date, so you get reminded to have a look at it. And if the task has a deadline (i.e. tax returns etc) set the Due Date, too.
Setting Next Review, Start and Due Date
Double-click "My First Task" to start editing (1) if you have installed Organize:Pro or click the in-line edit button (2). This will expand your task and show you more details.
At the bottom of the task you will see an empty input field "Next Review Date". You can either type in a review date and time using your keyboard or select it using the Date/Time Picker. Click on the Calendar Icon in the "Next Review Date" field (3) to open the Date/Time Picker.
The Date/Time Picker allows you to set a Next Review Date, Start Date and Due Date for each task. Start and Due date are mostly used for repeating tasks and for tasks that run for a long time. Right now we only want to set a reminder for our task for tomorrow, so we only set the Next Review date.
Make sure "Next Review" is selected in the Date/Time Picker (1), then pick the date for tomorrow and click on it in the calendar view. The calendar displays Today with an underline, so in the image above tomorrow would be April 29. As soon as you click on the date the control is activated and the "Next Review Date" text field is filled with the selected date.
Click the calendar icon in the "Next Review Date" field again to close the Date/Time Picker.
Beware: You didn't save your changes yet! If you would press Esc now, your selection would be discarded. Changes are only saved when you press enter or click outside the expanded task.
Click at the list background (1) now to close and save the task editor. You will see that in compact mode your task displays the Next Review Date on the right side.
Review your Next Steps
Now select "Review Next Steps" in the Organize Library (1) and the date for tomorrow (2) in the date bar. Again today is underlined so you can easily see the current date in the list.
When you click on the date for tomorrow you will see "My First Task" is up for review.
Next Review Date Quick Assignment
It happens so often that you need to assign the Next Review Date to one of the next days or weeks that we built in context menu to quickly assign common review dates.
Go back to the Inbox by selecting "Inbox" from the Organize Library (1) and select your task (2). You can also do this with multiple tasks selected at the same time.
CTRL-click your task (1) to show the context menu or click the action button (2) in the toolbar, then select "Set Next Review". A popup will show you days and then hours. Select tomorrow and from the submenu 10 AM to set the Next Review Date for your task to tomorrow at 10 am.
You can verify this by checking the "Review Next Steps" view for tomorrow. Your task will show up with a review time of 10 am.

How often should risk assessments be reviewed?
As a business owner, manager, or supervisor, you know the importance of keeping up to date, and health and safety is no exception. To make sure you and your employees stay safe and protected, and compliant with the law, you need to carry out and review risk assessments as a part of your regular working practice.
Risk assessments are not a one-time deal, but there are no officially set guidelines as to when and how often a risk assessment should be carried out. But, how often should risk assessments be reviewed?
This post will outline when and why you should review your risk assessment process:
Reasons to review your risk assessment:
It’s good to keep on top of things, and risk assessment should be a routine part of your working practice. It’s important to remember also that risk assessments need to be carried out on certain occasions and specific situations. Being proactive and responsive to change will help you to prevent avoidable harm.
There are various reasons to review your risk assessment:
1) Scheduled Annual Review:
Since it’s not always easy to know when the right time to conduct a risk assessment is, most businesses will update everything on a time schedule. If you are audited by a representative of the HSE they will expect your records to be up-to-date. The rule of thumb is that you should schedule a risk assessment for at least once a year. This way, you know when it has to be done, when it was last carried out, and when it will be updated. Make sure it’s in your work calendar, so you don’t forget.
2) Changes in legislation:
You want to stay compliant with the law, which means that you have to respond to any changes in legislation. New regulations can be introduced with the new tax year on April 1, or on October 1, and may reflect new research and technology, changes in work practices, and even the global political situation. Keep an eye open for updates, and review your risk assessment if the law changes.
3) Change in task:
Your workplace is dynamic and constantly evolving, and you need to be aware of how changes to your site, equipment, and working practices affect the health and safety of the people you work with. According to the HSE, you will need to conduct a new risk assessment whenever there are “new machines, substances, and procedures, which could lead to new hazards.” This includes conducting risk assessments for installation, as well as use and regular safety controls of new equipment, machinery, and tasks.
4) Improvements:
You want to make sure that any improvements or health and safety controls are actually working to reduce risk, so you may need to conduct a follow-up risk assessment to review any improvements that have been introduced since the last risk assessment. This review will most likely be specific to a particular control.
5) Accidents and near misses:
Sometimes accidents (or near misses) happen, and if you do find yourself in this situation, it’s important to ensure you’re taking the time to stop a similar event from ever taking place. The HSE has a document dedicated to investigating accidents and near misses. This process includes reviewing those risk assessments to check that you have the most up to date controls in place.
6) Reports and complaints:
Nobody’s perfect, and neither are risk assessments! Sometimes a hazard or risk can be overlooked in a risk assessment, that somebody else (an employee, a co-worker, or member of the public, perhaps) will notice and bring to your attention. When that happens, you may need to respond to the issue with a fresh risk assessment. Make sure you keep the lines of communication open, and encourage people to offer feedback and report on issues that may affect the health and safety of your workplace.
7) Staff Problems:
Health and safety is about physical and psychosocial wellbeing, and some hazards can have an affect on people’s attendance, attitudes, and behaviour at work. High staff turnover, sickness, absenteeism, and complaints of stress or bullying could be indicators that something in your workplace is affecting people’s health and safety. If you notice things like this, you should try to identify the risk factor through an assessment.
8) Individual Staff Members:
As a compassionate employer or supervisor, you know that some individuals need special consideration from time to time. For example, if an employee is pregnant or breastfeeding or returning to work after a long-term sickness, or if you have visitors from outside your business coming into your workplace, you’ll need to carry out a risk assessment to ensure you’re preventing any hazards and accidents from taking place.
If you monitor your workplace for the above factors as a matter of routine, you will know when to review your risk assessment process. Don’t forget to act on your findings, implement any necessary improvements, and review again!
Now you know when it’s necessary to review risk assessments. It’s all about keeping things up-to-date and responding to changes, so that you can provide the most effective and relevant health and safety provisions for your working environment. If you incorporate risk assessment reviews into your standard working processes, you are unlikely to get caught out when it comes to health and safety.

Ghosted: release date, trailer, cast and everything we know about the action rom-com
Chris Evans and Ana de Armas star in Ghosted.
Sadly, most of us have probably been ghosted and/or have ghosted someone else. When you're the one being ghosted, you often wonder how a seemingly good date with someone could lead to absolutely no follow-up. Well, the new movie Ghosted offers up one possible reason for that — the other person is a highly skilled, globe-trotting CIA agent.
That's the basic premise for the Apple original movie Ghosted , starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas and hailing from the director of Rocketman and the writers of the Tom Holland Spider-Man movies and the Deadpool movies.
What do they all have in store? Here is everything that you need to know about Ghosted .
Ghosted release date
Ghosted is set to premiere on Apple TV Plus on April 21 wherever the streaming service is available. It is not clear at this time if Ghosted is going to be released at all in movie theaters, as Apple has done for a limited time with many of its recent original movies, including Sharper and Tetris .

Here is the official synopsis for Ghosted from Apple TV:
"Salt-of-the-earth Cole falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie — but then makes the shocking discovery that she's a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world."
The script was written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Chris McKenn and Erik Sommers.
Ghosted cast
Chris Evans and Ana de Armas headline Ghosted as Cole and Sadie, respectively.
Evans is of course best known for playing Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe , though his last appearance in the MCU came in 2019's Avengers: Endgame . Since then, he has starred in the likes of Knives Out , Defending Jacob , Lightyear and The Gray Man ; he also had a memorable cameo appearance in Free Guy .
The most recent role for Ana de Armas, playing Marilyn Monroe in Blonde , earned the actress her first Oscar nomination . Some of her other credits include Deep Water , No Time to Die , Sergio , Blade Runner 2049 and War Dogs .
Evans and de Armas have worked together multiple times, including in Knives Out and The Gray Man .
The rest of the Ghosted cast are no slouches, as it includes Amy Sedaris ( The Mandalorian ), Adrien Brody ( Poker Face ), Tim Blake Nelson ( Poker Face ), Tate Donovan ( Rocketman ) and Mike Moh ( Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ).

Focal Point Reviews Benefits and Challenges
The differences between focal point reviews and anniversary date reviews are significant, and many HR professionals struggle to decide which method is ultimately better for handling employee evaluations. The truth is that there is not necessarily an objectively better method -- each company’s needs are unique, and both approaches have merits and challenges that are likely to shape your organization in different ways.
While focal point reviews have managed to eclipse anniversary date reviews in popularity, it is best to choose the performance review cycle that works best for you -- we’ve laid out some pros and cons to help you do just that.
Focal point and anniversary date: What are they?
Focal point reviews, also referred to as common date reviews, are performance evaluations that occur all at one time for all employees within an organization. These reviews can occur once, twice, four times a year, or even more frequently. Salary adjustments and performance evaluations are conducted on a fixed date for all employees, or segmented groups such as executives and front-line employees.
Anniversary date reviews are scheduled in such a way that each employee is reviewed in cycles that are based on a date specific to that employee (like a hire date). Employees are reviewed and compensated at the same interval, but not the same date. This system usually makes it so that a company is conducting individual performance reviews year-round, rather than at one time.
The benefits of focal point reviews
The advantages to focal point reviews are numerous -- so much so that they have become the favored review approach among many of today’s companies. Organizations that have chosen to implement focal point reviews have found that they are easier for HR to coordinate, as the review process can be completed in a single one-to-two month time frame rather throughout the full year. Synchronizing performance reviews across the organization allows companies to establish corporate goals before beginning the process, ensuring that individual and organizational goals are linked as employees approach performance reviews.
Focal point reviews also give managers the opportunity to compare and contrast employee performance, making it easier to distinguish top performers and to pinpoint low-performing employees. Many companies have found that this approach helps managers to distribute fair and consistent feedback, as well as compensation adjustments that are unaffected by changing business cycles.
The challenges of focal point reviews
Some managers might consider focal point reviews to be a dream performance management strategy; but to others, one-to-two months of non-stop performance evaluations is a nightmare.
A significant amount of time and dedication is required to complete a review process that spans across the entire company, especially for managers with a large number of employees. This might require management to neglect other tasks for as long as it takes to complete the process, which has the potential to hurt organizational growth and development -- not to mention it has the potential to seriously exhaust your managers.
Another downfall of focal point reviews is the inadvertent, but significant disadvantage that it places on newer employees. Employees that are new to an organization will not have a full year of performance to be evaluated, and often, companies make no plans to address partial-year reviews.
These challenges are what have motivated some companies to continue practicing an alternative method -- namely, anniversary date reviews.
The benefits of anniversary date reviews
One of the appeals of anniversary date reviews is that evaluations are distributed more evenly for managers. This ensures that management does not become overloaded with reviews during a brief season. It also gives them the ability to spend more time and attention on each evaluation.
Proponents of anniversary date reviews claim that the evaluations have the potential to be of higher quality, since more time can be spent on each individual employee’s review. This approach also allows all employees to be evaluated based on one full year of work, placing new hires and seasoned employees on a level playing field when it comes to reviews.
The challenges of anniversary date reviews
While the spaced-out nature of anniversary date reviews can make it less stressful for managers to handle evaluations, it can also cause some difficulty in a manager’s efforts to keep organized in the review process. With so much data to keep track of, reviews can easily become delayed or postponed -- not to mention the potential recurring issue of retroactive salary increases .
The evaluation process can also become jumbled due to ever-changing data that can evolve over a year’s time. Reviews can become difficult to administer, and managers may find it challenging to gather accurate performance metrics and to make improvements to the review process.
How to choose
Ultimately, the main goal of your decision making process should be to choose the review cycle that works with your organization. The choice between focal point and anniversary date reviews should depend on the size and needs of your company, and should be implemented with other customized evaluation tools to maximize your performance reviews.
Focal point reviews may be the better option if your company is focused on maintaining organizational excellence in your performance review system. They can also be helpful to managers that wish to evaluate employee performance using a comparison and contrast method.
On the other hand, some organizations wish to evaluate individual employee performance against established standards rather than against fellow employee performance. In such cases, anniversary date reviews work well to objectively analyze an employee’s performance exclusively as it relates to the goals and standards set out by the company.
Focal point reviews allow managers to schedule reviews and salary adjustments according to the timeline that fits your organization’s overall growth, from quarterly to annual reviews. However, anniversary date reviews can be better suited to fast-growing companies that are hiring at an ongoing, consistent pace because they ensure that every employee is rated equally.
If you’re still having a hard time deciding, never fear -- some companies choose to combine the two approaches, transitioning from anniversary date reviews to focal point reviews after the first few years.
Regardless of the performance review cycle your company chooses, the most important thing to remember is to implement the process in a consistent way. The best thing that you can do for your organization and your employees is to lay the groundwork for effective and constructive performance review feedback.
