The Princeton Review: Homework Help
For most of us, the old saying, “You don’t know what you have until it is gone,” rings so true right now. During these unprecedented times, nearly 300 million students worldwide have been displaced from school. Parents and guardians have now essentially become the teacher. Personally, I have never been more grateful for what the teachers do for our children and the countless hours spent to offer a high level of education to our kids.
Although teachers are doing their best to be available to their students, they can’t be there 24/7. There is another option to help the students out if they are struggling with a subject. Chatham County Schools offer a 24/7 online tutoring for 6-12 graders through The Princeton Review: Homework Help. This is an amazing lifeline for at-home learning.
Below is a detailed description from the school on how to utilize this service.
How to access Homework Help online:
-Sign-in to your Chromebook or laptop provided by the school, then open Google Chrome. -With Google Chrome open, you should see a folder in the bookmarks bar labeled CCS. -Select the CCS folder and choose the Chatham Canvas option from the list. -When the Canvas platform is open, select your account icon from the left-side menu listing. -From you account screen, select the settings option. -Included in the settings list you will see Tutor.com 24/7 Homework Help.
How it works guide:
Signing On: Access the Tutor.com 24/7 Homework Help link from your Account Settings in Canvas. All students have access to the Canvas through the “CCS” folder from Google Chrome.
Choosing Your Subject: Click on the drop-down menu and select the subject you need help with. For example, if you need help with an algebra problem, click on the Math button.
Preparation: In order to maximize the time available, prepare for a session by having a particular concept or question that you would like to work on with the tutor. Tutors can help you with questions from your assignment, proofreading a paper or reviewing a concept from class. In the pre-session survey, please answer a few quick questions so that we can connect you with the best tutor suited for your level and needs.
Working with a Tutor: When you enter the classroom, you will see a chat window on the right-hand side of the screen and a whiteboard. You can talk with the tutor by typing into the chat box and drawing out a problem together on the whiteboard. Various tools at the left-hand side of the classroom will help you to draw, type, erase and drag and drop shapes as needed. Ask your tutor for a quick tour upon first signing in.
File Sharing: To get help with your research papers and essays, select Share File at the bottom of the screen to upload your document directly into the online classroom. If you save and store your documents in your Homework Help locker, you will be able to retrieve them from the list or you can upload directly from your computer. When the file opens in the classroom, you and your tutor can review the paper together at the same time.
Drop-off Essay Review: If you are short on time, you can drop your paper off for a tutor to review and provide feedback. Simply click on the Drop-off Writing tab on your account sidebar, fill out a few questions and send your essay in. We will return it back to you with a feedback form on your Previous Sessions page within 24 hours.
Personalized Features: We want you Homework Help account to be your own personalized learning environment. With this in mind, we have given you a space to save your favorite tutors, retrieve your archived sessions and essay reviews, as well as, a file storage locker to store documents. You can access these features any time without counting against your allotted tutoring time.
Feedback and Assistance: Your feedback is important to us and to your school. After each session, please fill out the post-session survey and offer us feedback about your experience. We’d like to know how the tutor helped, your opinion of the online classroom and anything else you’d like to tell us. You can also save, replay, email and print your session. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
Please know that this online resource has always been available but may have not been utilized or known by everyone. Now is a great time to familiarize yourself and your children with this tutoring option. Also, please remember that although our children are home for the time being, the administration, teachers, and staff at CCS are working tirelessly to ensure that the students’ education is of upmost importance. Thank you, Chatham County Schools, we appreciate you!!

By submitting my email address. i certify that i am 13 years of age or older, agree to recieve marketing email messages from the princeton review, and agree to terms of use., what is a good sat score for ivy league schools.
Most students admitted to Ivy League schools who submit standardized test scores have very high scores. However, applicants often want to know, what is a good SAT score for Ivy League schools?
Test scores reported by colleges
Test scores are most often reported as the middle 50% of scores from students who enrolled during that class year.
Pre-COVID, all eight Ivy League schools required the SAT or ACT be submitted for undergraduate, first-time, first-year applicants. During the pandemic, all these schools instituted test-optional policies.
The following table documents the 25 th -75 th percentile (middle 50%) of SAT scores submitted by first-year students. The Pre-COVID column represents students beginning college in the fall of 2019. The Post-COVID column represents students beginning college in the fall of 2022.
*Data is pulled from IPEDS 2019-2020. **Data is pulled from IPEDS 2022-2023.
What’s the takeaway?
- The 25 th percentile scores for both reading and math on the SAT increased slightly once these schools went test-optional.
- At all schools, 25% or more of the students whose data was reported for 2022-2023 submitted a perfect score on their math section.
- Both before and after, the majority of students enrolling at Ivy League colleges scored at least 1500 on their SAT.
This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply to an Ivy League school if you don’t have a score quite as high. Remember, this is the middle 50%, which means 25% of students were accepted with lower grades. But if your test score falls under the middle 50% range and the school requires standardized testing, focusing your efforts on bringing that score up can only help your admissions process.
Will Ivy League colleges begin requiring standardized testing again?
As of early 2024, the following schools now once again require some form of standardized testing:
- Brown University
- Dartmouth College
- Yale University
Only Columbia University has announced that it will remain test-optional for the foreseeable future.
It’s likely that additional schools will make announcements regarding their testing policies in the coming months, whether that’s reinstating standardized testing or solidifying their test-optional stance. If you’re applying to college this fall, taking the SAT and/or ACT is a good way to make sure you have the necessary admissions requirements for any school on your list.
Will scoring a 1500+ on the SAT guarantee you admission to an Ivy League school?
No. Standardized tests are just one component these colleges consider when evaluating applications. But whether an Ivy League school requires standardized testing or not, a 1500 or higher on the SAT can help distinguish your application, calling attention to good grades and a rigorous curriculum.
While it’s important to know what is a good SAT score for Ivy League schools, remember that you are more than just a score and of the tens of thousands to apply each year for those few thousand spots, many will have similarly high scores (hence the single-digit acceptance rates). The high score helps to ensure that your grades and extracurricular involvement are also looked at.
