Top Article Writing Topics

If you are looking for your next article topic, consider writing about a personal experience or lifestyle topic. When dealing with writer’s block, one of the quickest ways to overcome it is by looking at your past or current events. Consider using your personal experiences to write an article.

You may think that your life is boring, but you have had numerous experiences that other people will find interesting. Some of the ideas you may want to use include:

You might be surprised by how many people are interested in things that have happened in your life.

Another great article idea is to create a list of your favorite books. You can even use this idea to start a fun series if you are a blogger. For example, you may want to break up different books into different categories.

Bookworms love to read, so include relevant information and recommendations in your article! Your readers will be avid book readers and will want to find new and interesting books to read.

Top Article Writing Topics: Local News and Events

If you are writing for a local audience, you may want to create a roundup of the top upcoming events in your area. By writing about current events, you will drive more traffic to your website and can also promote fun upcoming activities in your local community.

Some of the events you may want to write about include:

You can expand this to include bigger events that might be happening. For example, if there is a popular sporting event, a popular band coming to town, or a significant celebration occurring, you can write about this in your article.

When in doubt, look at current events. There is always something happening in the world that you can write about, and you can probably tie this to your audience’s interests. For example, you might have seen a recent news story about geopolitics. Even if you do not consider yourself an expert in this area, you may want to summarize the article for your readers.

Or, if there was a recent scientific study published, you may want to talk about this if it is relevant to your audience. For example, you might find a scientific study on global warming, a new medication, or something happening in space.

Not all of your articles on current events have to be serious. For example, you may want to write a news article on the Oscars or Grammy Awards if it is the right time of year. You can even talk about what is happening in celebrity news if you think your audience is interested.

Perhaps you are looking for a way to engage with your audience. You may want to write a “have you ever” article to do this. The idea behind this article is relatively straightforward. First, you will write an article about something you have done. Then, you’ll ask your audience to respond or comment on the article about similar things they have (or have not) done.

A few ideas for this article include:

This is a great way to encourage your audience to share some of their experiences with you. You might even find that one of their experiences could serve as the foundation of a future article.

Everyone goes to school growing up, but everyone has a slightly different experience, so your experience in high school is probably different from your readers’ experiences.

Because every education system is different, consider pulling out some of the unique experiences you had in school growing up. Then, see if your readers are willing to share theirs. You might find that you can use some of their experiences to create a future article.

You may even want to consider starting a series. For example, you may write one article on elementary school, one on middle school, and one on high school. A few topics include:

Ask your readers for comments. They might have some good ideas you can use.

Mental health is one of the most important issues facing today’s healthcare system. Just about everyone has thought about their mental health at some point. This topic could serve as a launchpad for your next article.

There are plenty of directions you can take this. Some of the ideas for articles you can write regarding mental health include:

Everyone struggles with their mental health from time to time, and by writing an article on mental health, you bring up important topics. You can break down barriers that make it easier for your audience to talk about their mental health with people close to them.

Top Article Writing Topics: Content Marketing

For example, you may want to write an article on the different types of content marketing. For example, some people might create infographics, while others might create videos. You can even write an article about how to start a podcast, as this is a form of content marketing that is growing quickly in popularity.

You could even write an article that talks about search engine optimization. This is usually shortened to SEO, and there is a good chance that you use SEO tools to help you improve the ranking of your articles. This could be a great idea for an article topic.

If you want your article to gain some traction, you can look at trending topics on various social media platforms. For example, you may want to go to Twitter to see what is currently trending.

Writing about trending topics is a great idea because it could help your article rank better. If a topic is trending, this is a sign that it is very popular and will result in lots of interest and views for your article.

Before you start writing, think about what your audience is interested in. Then, take a look at the training topics to see any overlap. This is a great way to find a topic for your next article.

Everyone likes to learn new skills, so consider beginning a series of how-to articles. Consider your audience, and see what they might be interested in.

You may want to start a series of how-to articles that focuses on plumbing. A few possible ideas include:

You can also go to social media to see the most popular technology devices. Then, consider writing a few how-to articles that show people how to use these devices. A few ideas include:

If you have an audience that is interested in handyman activities, a few possible topics include:

There is a never-ending list of topics you can use. Once you post your articles, collect feedback from your audience to see what they like and what they don’t like. You can use this as a source of inspiration for future articles.

It would be best to think about what is interesting to you and what your audience might be interested in. Consider drawing from your life experiences, the local news, or some trending topics on social media platforms. You can also survey the topics your readers want to see in your next blog post.

How can I improve my article writing skills?

Sat / act prep online guides and tips, 113 great research paper topics.

General Education

feature_pencilpaper

One of the hardest parts of writing a research paper can be just finding a good topic to write about. Fortunately we've done the hard work for you and have compiled a list of 113 interesting research paper topics. They've been organized into ten categories and cover a wide range of subjects so you can easily find the best topic for you.

In addition to the list of good research topics, we've included advice on what makes a good research paper topic and how you can use your topic to start writing a great paper.

What Makes a Good Research Paper Topic?

Not all research paper topics are created equal, and you want to make sure you choose a great topic before you start writing. Below are the three most important factors to consider to make sure you choose the best research paper topics.

#1: It's Something You're Interested In

A paper is always easier to write if you're interested in the topic, and you'll be more motivated to do in-depth research and write a paper that really covers the entire subject. Even if a certain research paper topic is getting a lot of buzz right now or other people seem interested in writing about it, don't feel tempted to make it your topic unless you genuinely have some sort of interest in it as well.

#2: There's Enough Information to Write a Paper

Even if you come up with the absolute best research paper topic and you're so excited to write about it, you won't be able to produce a good paper if there isn't enough research about the topic. This can happen for very specific or specialized topics, as well as topics that are too new to have enough research done on them at the moment. Easy research paper topics will always be topics with enough information to write a full-length paper.

Trying to write a research paper on a topic that doesn't have much research on it is incredibly hard, so before you decide on a topic, do a bit of preliminary searching and make sure you'll have all the information you need to write your paper.

#3: It Fits Your Teacher's Guidelines

Don't get so carried away looking at lists of research paper topics that you forget any requirements or restrictions your teacher may have put on research topic ideas. If you're writing a research paper on a health-related topic, deciding to write about the impact of rap on the music scene probably won't be allowed, but there may be some sort of leeway. For example, if you're really interested in current events but your teacher wants you to write a research paper on a history topic, you may be able to choose a topic that fits both categories, like exploring the relationship between the US and North Korea. No matter what, always get your research paper topic approved by your teacher first before you begin writing.

113 Good Research Paper Topics

Below are 113 good research topics to help you get you started on your paper. We've organized them into ten categories to make it easier to find the type of research paper topics you're looking for.

How to Write a Great Research Paper

Even great research paper topics won't give you a great research paper if you don't hone your topic before and during the writing process. Follow these three tips to turn good research paper topics into great papers.

#1: Figure Out Your Thesis Early

Before you start writing a single word of your paper, you first need to know what your thesis will be. Your thesis is a statement that explains what you intend to prove/show in your paper. Every sentence in your research paper will relate back to your thesis, so you don't want to start writing without it!

As some examples, if you're writing a research paper on if students learn better in same-sex classrooms, your thesis might be "Research has shown that elementary-age students in same-sex classrooms score higher on standardized tests and report feeling more comfortable in the classroom."

If you're writing a paper on the causes of the Civil War, your thesis might be "While the dispute between the North and South over slavery is the most well-known cause of the Civil War, other key causes include differences in the economies of the North and South, states' rights, and territorial expansion."

#2: Back Every Statement Up With Research

Remember, this is a research paper you're writing, so you'll need to use lots of research to make your points. Every statement you give must be backed up with research, properly cited the way your teacher requested. You're allowed to include opinions of your own, but they must also be supported by the research you give.

#3: Do Your Research Before You Begin Writing

You don't want to start writing your research paper and then learn that there isn't enough research to back up the points you're making, or, even worse, that the research contradicts the points you're trying to make!

Get most of your research on your good research topics done before you begin writing. Then use the research you've collected to create a rough outline of what your paper will cover and the key points you're going to make. This will help keep your paper clear and organized, and it'll ensure you have enough research to produce a strong paper.

450+ Awesome Topics and Ideas for Top-Notch Essay

topics to write articles on

The most crucial step in preparing an essay is selecting a topic, yet most students regretfully ignore this part. In many cases, the quality of the essay depends on the topic you select. Therefore, choosing the appropriate topic simplifies composing something you'll be satisfied with.

topics to write articles on

Here are some suggestions from our college paper writing service for selecting good essay topics to ease your task.

Ideas for Essay by Category

Based on your study area, you may likely face various writings in school. However, the most typical essay topics are these four. You'll probably need to produce at least a few of these pieces, particularly if you finish your undergraduate coursework.

essay ideas

Persuasive Writing

As the name suggests, a persuasive essay's main objective is to persuade the reader. Challenging, compelling, and rational writing should be used to convince readers. Contrary to expository essays, which may also advocate a viewpoint or particular cause, persuasive essay topics include opinion-based writing that focuses less on specific facts.

Expository Writing

In expository essays, facts are presented. They mandate that students conduct research, look into a subject, and provide a position based only on factual data instead of an opinion. Expository essay topics are written with solid reasoning and employ factual, scientific articles.

Descriptive Writing

Even though winter is ending soon, it does not mean the cold is. While we face the last couple of weeks of winter there are many things you need to do. You might have been counting down the days until spring, but make the most of these chilly and cloudy days. Grab a blanket and a glass of hot chocolate, and do these five warm indoor activities for those rainy winter days.

1. Hot Chocolate

This one might seem obvious, but what if I told you that having a cup of hot cocoa is more than chocolate powder in warm milk? I'm sure you have left over hot chocolate from November and December, so it's time to finish them off. First off, there are a variety of flavors, from White Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice, Mint, Caramel and the list goes on.

And you don't have to settle for regular milk! Mix it up using almond or coconut milk. Lastly, the best part is the toppings. By adding some whipped cream and a cinnamon stick, a regular cup of warm chocolate powder in milk becomes more like a dessert. So when it is too cold for an ice cream party, you can have a hot chocolate party instead!

Now that you have you hot chocolate, it is time to relax. Wrapping up in a warm blanket with a hot drink and some calming music is one of the best ways to spend and indoor kind of day. Especially if you have school work to do, background music can help fill the silence of late night studying. I created a Chill Pill playlist on YouTube for some relaxing vibes.

Soon, weekends can be filled with park trips and beach adventures, but for now, the weather is temperamental, so a movie night can suffice. Romances and horrors are great genres to cozy up to in the dark. If you have Netflix or Hulu , the possibilities of movies are endless.

If movies aren't your style or you need a quieter way to relax, pick up a good book. A good book on a rainy day or with calming music is a wonderful way to take a break from the responsibilities of life and escape into another world.

You have your hot chocolate made, playlist downloaded, movie set and books chosen. Time to forget about any work you have to do, and treat the weekend as a weekend. The only way to properly do this is to be comfortable, because why relax when you could relax ? Build a pillow fort on your bed in any clear space using four chairs, an abundance of blankets and all the pillows you can find. This will make any chill session that much more enjoyable. This works in making work more enjoyable too.

A New Church

Condemning each other is so not-cool..

We think of the church as the place we go, or don't go, on Sunday mornings. Our mindset of the church has been split into different denominations, different ways of going about things. When we think about what God intended the church for though, it was not like this at all. The church was intended to be the people of God. The church was never meant to be a building or a denomination, it was meant to be a family.

But within the family things get complicated. People become offended by churches. People get hurt, and they let this put a wedge in their personal relationship with Christ. What offends people the most? Judgement. Judgement passed on them for their current, or even past sins. Why? Because of society.

Society tells us that some sins are worse than others. Society tells us that it is more acceptable to be drunk every weekend than cheat on spouses. It teaches us that "little white lies" are okay, but homosexuality is condemned. We grow up in a culture that tells us not to associate with others because of their certain sins. When we think back to the Bible though, is this how Jesus treated others?

Jesus called things as He saw them. He did not sugarcoat things, and he never compromised the truth. There were times when when He grew so frustrated with sinners just like you and I. Matthew 21:12-13 is a prime example of this. Jesus was in the temple when He saw others selling and bargaining inside. He became upset that they had turned the temple into a "den of robbers." So, yes, there were times He was frustrated with the sinful ways of man, but many times He loved. In Luke 19, Jesus called Zacchaeus, a chief tax collector, down from a tree. Jesus stayed at his home, and all who witnessed it were so surprised that Jesus would associate with a sinner such as Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus became a changed man because of that time with Jesus. There are several instances of his grace, just like this. The Samaritan woman at the well (John 4), Peter and his constant doubting and slip-ups, and the sinner hanging on the cross next to Jesus (Luke 23:40-43.) In John 8, Jesus is at the Mount of Olives, where he sees a woman accused of adultery. In this time, the punishment for adultery was to be stoned to death; however, Jesus came to this woman's defense. In verse 7, He declared "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone."

This is such a powerful moment in scripture to me, because how often do we cast our (hypothetical) stones on others? We are all sinners, every single one of us. God does not see our sins as buildings from the perspective of being on the ground; this would mean He sees sins as bigger or smaller than other sins. Rather, He sees our sins as buildings from a bird's eye view; from above, there is no differentiate which ones are taller or shorter.

We have to stop driving each other away from the church. Yes, we are to hold each other accountable, but by no means should we be viewing ourselves as any better than a fellow brother, sister, or even someone who has not come to Christ yet. Homosexuality is no worse than continuous alcoholism, or habitual lying, gossiping, or constantly doubting Him. God sees these on-going sins as all equal. Open your doors and your hearts to those from all walks of life; we all struggle with our own sins in many, many different ways. We do not know the true intentions of each others hearts, that is up to God to judge, so stop judging others away from the church - welcome them. I don't know about you, but I am ready to see a less rigid church, and a more loving church, a more loving body of Christ, instead.

The Best Celebrities That Share Your Zodiac Sign

You're such a beyonce.

Hello, there! I'm no expert in zodiac signs, but I do spend a fair amount of time looking at both zodiac sign memes and entertainment news on Instagram and Twitter, so I feel as if I'm certified to do this. If you think I'm wrong, then you're probably a Taurus (did I do that right?)

Elton John! You should be over the moon to share a sign with him.

Adele! If you can sing like her, too, it's a plus.

Marilyn Monroe! Just one of the biggest stars of the 1950s, no big deal.

Selena Gomez! Who wouldn't want to have something in common with her?

Sandra Bullock! I know Twitter just discovered her because of 'Bird Box,' but she has a million other movies that are just as amazing (you're one step closer to being Miss Congeniality).

Beyonce! I might be a little biased since this is my sign, but come on, it's Beyonce. This is clearly the best one.

Kim K! I know she's pretty controversial in terms of who likes her and who doesn't, but she is kind of famous for nothing (and also a millionaire) so that's pretty inspiring. Minus the whole sex tape thing .

Anne Hathaway! Is it even possible to not like her?

Sagittarius

Miley Cyrus! Whether you're more of a Miley or a Hannah, you hit the jackpot in the celebrity-zodiac-sign-twin lottery.

Elvis Presley! You're an icon, Capricorn. Never forget it.

Oprah Winfrey! I mean, can it get any better than this?

Rihanna! Pisces are so talented they don't even need a last name.

What's your sign? (and no, that's not a pickup line).

A Birthday Letter To My Best Friend

It all started with a spongebob joke..

A letter to my best friend,

I want to start by wishing you a happy birthday. You're like the big sister I always wanted, but more importantly, you're my best friend. Though we technically met in Kindergarten, we officially met at freshman orientation in high school. I can literally remember it like it were yesterday: I was terrified and clutching my red folder like it was my lifesaver in a room where I was drowning. And then, through an incredible teacher, I was introduced to you. I knew from looking at you that you were the cool kid in the room, the one who knew what was happening and didn't care about any of it. I envied your blasé attitude and I feared that my over-excitable nature would ruin a friendship before it began. And yet, you smiled and told me your name.

We found out that we had the same classes and sat together at lunch. We had the same, stupid sense of humor and bonded over Spongebob jokes. We sat at the same lunch table for four years. I remember how we told each other everything, good and bad, and received hugs all the same. I remember how senior year, you told me you were applying to one of the same schools as me. I remember when we both received acceptance letters to Notre Dame of Maryland University and swore we'd stay best friends through college. And we did. We even lived as roommates for two (and a quarter) years.

I've known you for 7, almost 8 years now and with each passing year I am more and more grateful to call you my best friend. Though life has changed our paths and you go to a different school, we still talk weekly, sometimes daily. We see each other frequently and always have some new story (and a Spongebob reference or two). My mom calls you her third daughter and your mom reminds me I'm always invited over. We're practically family at this point.

In this time, I've grown plenty, but I've watched you grow as well. I've watched you experience family struggles, heartbreak and personal struggle, but I've also watched you experience success, happiness and love. I've gotten to see you at your highest and lowest and I love you so much at times I wonder how I could have gotten so lucky to call you my friend. I'm so proud that you share all of this with me and call me your friend, that you have invited me into your home and introduced me to your incredible boyfriend.

I don't know what made God or the Fates or whichever All-Powerful Being decide that we both should be so lucky to not only know each other, but to share so much of each others' lives by being best friends, but I know I will thank them until the end of my days. I wish you the happiest of birthdays and just know that I will be here to celebrate each year with you forever and ever. As your best friend.

7 Inspirational Women In History

Making history herstory..

Every single one of my history classes has thus far been the chronicle of world events as told by men about men. However, this is not because women did not have a profound effect on history or the world. Yes, we learn about some influential women, but most have been forgotten or buried in the margins of textbook. But, below is a list of seven unexpectedly inspirational women who have certainly made their mark on the world and have helped make HIStory HERstory.

1. Coco Chanel

"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different”

Whether it’s the familiar scent of Chanel no 5 on your classy aunt or the covet-worthy quilted purse in the window of Saks, we all know the Chanel name. The iconic Chanel logo however would not be possible without its even more iconic founder Coco Chanel. Although a fashion designer, Chanel irrevocably changed the world for women. She turned the fashion world on its head by liberating women from the hated corset in favor of a more comfortable yet still elegant style. She also pioneered her famous “Chanel suit” thus empowering working women. Through the art of fashion, Chanel taught, and still continues to teach, women to break free from societal norms and constraints. She proves that women can both be well-dressed and feminine as well as strong and independent.

2. Temple Grandin

"The world needs different kinds of minds to work together."

Temple Grandin is arguably one of the most inspirational human beings to date. She is not only a renowned animal behavioral specialist, but is also on the Autism spectrum. Because of Temple’s disability, she faced many unique difficulties growing up.

For instance, she did not begin speaking until she was three and a half years old. She was also ridiculed and harassed by her school mates in high school because of her differences. Her disability caused strife even within her own family; her mother and father divorced when she was 15 largely because of the stresses of raising Temple. Despite her struggles, Temple eventually found her passion for science and animals.

With the support of her mother, teachers, therapists and loved ones, she went on to receive her doctoral in animal science. Additionally, she has become a major spokesperson for Autism and has served as an inspiration to thousands worldwide. Temple Grandin shows us that no matter what obstacles or hardships we face in life, we can still achieve both greatness and happiness through perseverance and dedication.

3. Lise Meitner

"Science makes people reach selflessly for truth and objectivity; it teaches people to accept reality, with wonder and admiration, not to mention the deep awe and joy that the natural order of things brings to the true scientist."

Lise Meitner was an Austrian physicist who, alongside chemist Otto Hahn, discovered Nuclear fission. Meitner was an absolutely brilliant scientist, and collaborated on research at the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Institute with Hahn. The two had not only become a scientific powerhouse, but also close friends.

Meitner was on the verge of a breakthrough, but was forced to flee the country because of the anti-Jewish Nazi regime. Via letters, she continued to collaborate with Hahn, and they eventually discovered nuclear fission. However, Otto Hahn and co-collaborator Fritz Strassman took all credit for the discovery and excluded her from the publication as well as subsequent accolades including the Nobel Prize. Despite this heartbreak, Meitner still proves to the world that women can be and are exceptional scientists, whether or not they are given the due credit.

4. Josephine Baker

"Surely the day will come when color means nothing more than the skin tone, when religion is seen uniquely as a way to speak one's soul, when birth places have the weight of a throw of the dice and all men are born free, when understanding breeds love and brotherhood."

Josephine Baker was born in 1906 in St. Louis, Missouri. She had a difficult childhood rattled with extreme poverty and racism. Often times she was hungry, and while working as an in-house domestic was abused. At age 13 she was married, but left shortly after to pursue her passion for theater as a vaudeville performer.

She became a hugely successful and widely popular dancer. She eventually moved to Paris and became a French citizen. When discussing her move, Baker said, “I wanted to get far away from those who believed in cruelty, so then I went to France, a land of true freedom, democracy, equality and fraternity.”

Josephine went on to pursue her career in show business. She also worked for the Red Cross in WWII and as a Civil Rights supporter. Josephine Baker shattered the glass ceiling and continues to be an inspiration for women of every color.

5. Frida Kahlo

"I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best."

Frida Kahlo is one of the greatest painters and feminists of the modern era. Kahlo’s life was very much colored with pain ranging from her contraction of polio at age six, growing up during the Mexican Revolution, a traumatic bus accident, her tumultuous marriage to artist Diego Rivera and several miscarriages. Kahlo’s art was influenced and sometimes a direct reflection of the painful experiences in her life. Through her struggles, Kahlo inspires us to create something meaningful out of the pain that we will inevitably face in life. Furthermore, Frida challenged typical beauty standards through her art. She teaches women to embrace their own natural beauty in the face of the societal pressures for perfection and conformity.

6. Malala Yousafzai

“If one man can destroy everything, why can't one girl change it?”

When reading the above quote, no one other than the speaker herself comes to mind. Although only 18, Malala has made tremendous waves not only in Pakistan, but the world at large. She has been an advocate and fighter for woman’s rights from a very young age, despite the adversity she has been confronted with.

At age 15, she was shot by the Taliban on her school bus because of her desire and persistence to pursue an education. This did not deter Malala, in fact it only strengthened her resolve and influence. Since then, Malala has continued to fight for women’s rights and children’s education. She went on to be the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In the face of terror and hatred, Malala acts with grace and courage. Her bravery and determination makes her a role model for every woman.

7. Audrey Hepburn

"I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I believe in miracles."

Audrey Hepburn is remembered as one of the greatest actresses of the Golden Age of Hollywood, an international fashion icon and a humanitarian. She starred in numerous movies and shows and received many awards for her work. She was also featured on the covers of countless magazines and still is seen on present day fashion blogs.

Yet what sets Audrey apart from every other starlet is her work as a humanitarian and her inspiring personal story. As a young girl, Audrey lived under German occupation in the Netherlands. She suffered from malnutrition and other hardships as a result. However, she actively participated in the Dutch resistance. Inspired by her painful childhood and grateful for her subsequent success, Hepburn became a UNICEF Ambassador. Audrey Hepburn was a true Renaissance woman. As a mother, celebrity, philanthropist, survivor and a lady, she teaches us women can in fact have it all.

Five years ago, business consultant Mark Schaefer wrote a post titled “content shock” that went insanely viral. Since then, he has covered the subject multiple times on his blog, the latest being last year.

While these ideas are great jumping-off points, I want to empower you to come up with new subjects on your own. In the next section, you’ll learn five effective ways to do the same.

Confused What To Write About? Here Are Eight Simple Strategies…

Whether you’re stuck with writing a blog post, article, or story, here are eight strategies to discover and come up with interesting subjects to write about.

1. Scan The Headlines Of Bestselling Books And Popular Articles

A great place to spark fresh ideas is exploring the work of other writers. Indeed simply scanning the headlines can help jumpstart your writing. Here are a few platforms you can try:

1. Scan The Amazon Bestsellers List

Amazon remains a popular place for shoppers to buy books. Their bestsellers list is updated every hour with the ranks based on what’s selling well.

As an author, you can look at the eclectic mix of both nonfiction and fiction titles. I recommend you begin exploring the books by their department in the sidebar on the left.

Amazon bestsellers as writing topics

Here are the best sellers in romance. Note how in the left sidebar you can granularly explore subsections. Right off the bat, you’ve six titles you can use as a writing prompt.

Novels as writing titles

I could write a short fantasy story on #3: “Where the forest meets the stars.”

How about you?

2. Plug Your Favorite Website Inside Social Animal

You can also scan the headlines of the most shared articles on social media from a website of your liking. Start by plugging the website inside Social Animal and the tool will return the most popular pages from the past one year.

For example, below are the most shared articles from longreads.com in the last year:

Long reads most shared articles

If you’re creating content for your business, you can consider plugging a competitor’s website inside the tool. Once you’ve got a few relevant subjects, come with newer angles, and cover the same subject.

Suppose I find that “meditation techniques for working professionals” is a popular subject among my readers. Now I’ll write on “standing and walking meditation techniques for working professionals.” It’s a novel subject that isn’t covered extensively and it’s relevant for the busy working class.

See how it’s done?

2. Keep A Notebook (Or Evernote)

If you’re a creator, ideation is a critical part of your work. But your creative juices might not always flow at your will. Ideas can arise even while you’re driving, doing dishes, bathing, or attending to some other tedious task. At such moments, noting these ideas can be a hassle and you might not have a notebook and pen.

Evernote , one of the best note taking apps out there, offers a better bet. It works on all the common platforms — iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and on your browser. And it offers two handy ways to organize the items you choose to save: tags and notebooks. They both have their utility, but choosing a notebook for every item is necessary.

Here’s a glance at my notebooks and a few tags:

A list of tags and notebooks on Evernote

With its mobile apps, you can store even your wildest of ideas in Evernote (even when you’re on the subway!) and go back to them when you feel uninspired. And it’s not merely plain webpages — you can also save photos, videos, and voice clips in one of its Notebooks.

I also use the Evernote Chrome extension to clip articles I find interesting. The software automatically chooses a Notebook for all the pages you save, though its categorization can be faulty. I can add my commentary to each saved item and refer to them later for inspiration. Taking screenshots of web pages and annotating them through Skitch is also possible.

If you’ve enabled the Evernote extension on your browser, then on performing a Google search an Evernote tab appears in the top right corner. It shows notes related (that you saved in Evernote earlier) to the subject you’re researching. Occasionally these notes result in the addition of an example or a resource to an article I’m working on.

The Evernote Premium version syncs across multiple devices and offers a generous 10 GB storage. But you can get started with its free version that offers a capacity of 60 MB (which is pretty decent for storing your notes’ archives) and syncs two devices.

3. Re-outline

Whether you write nonfiction or fiction, an outline will lay a strong foundation for you. If you haven’t created one, then do it now so that you know the structure of your writing project and the direction it needs to go in.

The other scenario is that you’ve hit a wall because you can’t seem to expand on your current outline. In fiction, it might indicate indecision on which way your story should jump. Whereas if you’re writing a blog post, it might mean you created a shorter outline.

In either case, it makes sense to get back to your outline and redo it with some research as well as brainstorming. Limit the re outlining session to about 10 minutes so that you power through quickly.

4. Solve The Pertinent Problems Of Your Readers

If you’re a nonfiction writer serving an existing readership, then one of your main goals is to solve the problems of your readers. Here are a few tools to find the top questions that they are asking:

The question-and-answer-platform gets hoards of curious visitors. You can directly search for a subject you’re writing about to find the top questions people are asking on it.

Suppose I’m writing an article on “Yoga vs. Gym.” On performing a search, here are a few questions I found people asking. I already have three important aspects of the subject (marked in red) that I should address in my article.

Writing topic - Keyword analysis

2. Answer The Public

How about a tool that aggregates all the top questions that your audience is asking on a keyword and represents them visually? “Answer The Public does that by collating all the data users are typing inside Google & Bing. Here are the top questions returned for “yoga vs. gym”:

Mind map

3. Survey Your Readers

Who can tell you more about their problems, motivations, and emotions than your readers themselves? So if you have an existing email list, reach out to your readers directly and ask them about the top subjects they would like you to tackle on your site.

Indeed it’s a good idea to take feedback from your readers regularly. So, like Jorden from Creative Revolt, consider asking questions and interacting with your subscribers at the end of your email in a postscript.

Email postscript

If you prefer staying organized, then you can use a tool like Survey Monkey to conduct a survey smoothly and generate insights.

Don’t have an email list, but an existing audience on Twitter, Slack, or other social media? Then you can conduct a poll on these platforms asking people what they struggle with the most and you can lend a hand with your blog post.

Here’s a poll copywriter André Spiteri conducted on Twitter that led him to his article’s subject on “nailing blog post introductions.”

5. Focus On Narrower Topics

When I first pitched my ideas to my editor at Foundr magazine, she gave me a piece of advice that is helpful for finding newer writing subjects when you’re stuck. She suggested attacking “more focused topics” instead of broad subjects:

Focus on narrower writing topics

Owing to the intense content marketing competition , most broad subjects have already been covered to death. It’s difficult to bring anything new to the table. However, you can get granular and hone in on a specific detail.

Instead of creating an article on “how to start writing your book”, you can attack a narrower subject like “how to write the first chapter for your novel.”

If you’re creating content for your blog, you might be afraid of narrowing the coverage of your subjects because a focused subject will have reduced readership. However, your writing will resonate deeply with those few readers and they might share it with their friends.

6. Read News And Explore What’s Trending

Is Twitter buzzing with a virus outbreak that’s slowed economies across the world? Maybe people are talking about a movie release that’s happening later this week.

The trends can serve as standalone writing subjects if your audience would like your analysis of them. However, it isn’t essential to newsjacking such events. You can also pick up ideas and anecdotes from these emerging events and integrate them into your writing.

So the next time you’re stuck and want an interesting idea, try reading the news .

I like to red the daily news meme

Beyond the dedicated “trending” hashtags on Twitter and media publications, you can also use Google Trends . Try the Google Search Trend reports from the last couple of years. It’s even broken down into convenient sub-categories. Here’s a snapshot of the 2019 report.

2019 google trends

Do these events, searches, actors, and athletes spark hot ideas for an article (or maybe give direction to an existing piece)?

6. Research Keywords With Ubersuggest

While we’re on the subject of the problems your audience is facing, how about some good old keyword research with quantitative data?

While most tools on the market are paid and limited, Ubersuggest offers substantial data for free.

I plugged our example query “yoga vs. gym” in Ubersuggest. Here’s data related to this query, and a few related keywords that people are typing in Google with their approximate monthly search volume:

Keyword ideas for writing

Not only do you get ideas that can be covered in your article (like practicing yoga and gymming on alternative days), but you should also use these exact keywords inside your article.

Here’s why:

If you scroll down, Ubersuggest also shows the most shared articles on your subject from around the web.

Content ideas for writing

The tool is a goldmine for bloggers and content creators to find data-backed content ideas that are proven to work.

7. Let The Music Play!

Do you know that happy music can facilitate divergent thinking (a method used for generating creative ideas)?

Indeed in my method acting training, we were taught using music as a tool to feel a requisite emotion for a scene before performing.

So open your digital jukebox and let yourself relax. Listening to your favorite music could even uplift your mood and inspire you to come up with new ideas.

Begin experimenting with various mood playlists on Spotify to evoke unique ambiances ( here are thirteen you can try). You can also explore YouTube music and its curated mood-based playlists.

Spotify mood playlists

If you find that a certain genre of music helps you quiet your racing thoughts and internal chatter, then let that kind of music play.

8. The (Not So) Secret Strategy For Battling “I Don’t Know What To Write About…”

Alright now let’s get the prolific and successful writers out of the closet.

I’m sorry to break it to you, but they don’t have a secret. They have fears like us. They run out of ideas. They battle imposter’s syndrome and hit writer’s block. However, they push through self-doubt and the fear of failure, which are major reasons we get stuck in creative work.

Let me share an example:

“Eat, Pray, Love” author Elizabeth Gilbert felt terrified while writing a followup to her blockbuster international bestseller. She even started thinking of dumping the project. However, she found a way to change her relationship with her work.

In her TED Talk, ‘Your elusive creative genius’, she shares a psychological construct that can liberate creatives like us from the results of our works:

Let me quickly show you the two main things that are relevant to us. The first aspect was the idea of what should count as ‘genius’:

“…the Romans did not actually think that a genius was a particularly clever individual. They believed that a genius was this, sort of magical divine entity, who was believed to literally live in the walls of an artist’s studio, kind of like Dobby the house-elf, and who would come out and sort of invisibly assist the artist with their work and would shape the outcome of that work.”

The second aspect clarifies how you the above concept takes the pressure off you:

“…if your work was brilliant, you couldn’t take all the credit for it, everybody knew that you had this disembodied genius who had helped you. If your work bombed, not entirely your fault, you know? Everyone knew your genius was kind of lame.”

Ultimately getting new ideas boils down to stop judging your creative process. Gilbert found her way by going back to ancient Rome and ancient Greece. You just need to find yours.

Now You’ve Got Cool Things To Write, Huh?

Thought so.

As you know, all stories worth telling have already been told. Most interesting topics have already been written about. However, that shouldn’t forbid you to write on these subjects in your unique voice, spicing it up with your life experiences and your creativity.

I have shown you how to find things to write about with actionable tips and tools. And even shared some random things to write about.

Hopefully, the article gets your creative juices flowing, and leaves you with something to write about.

topics to write articles on

Articles are usually expected to be less formal than essays . Because they are intended to entertain, you can use more relaxed language, using contractions, phrasal verbs and more informal words. Also, it is common to use rhetorical questions and exclamation marks to keep the reader engaged or to make a point. You should address the reader directly and you can use humour where you think it’s appropriate.

Article Writing

An article is a piece of non-fiction prose writing especially meant for newspapers and magazines. It is helpful to test the students’ skills in expressing their ideas, organization of their thoughts, planning, presentation of their ideas in a chronological way, comprehending their ideas, and finally arriving at a conclusion.

While writing the article, make sure that the ideas are presented in a planned and systematic way. Avoid using vocabulary with which you are not very familiar. Use simple but effective language. Follow the word limit given in the question.

Article Writing Format

Title/Heading : Always begin the article with a title or heading. It should be eye-catching but short consisting of not more than four to five words. It should arouse the interest of the reader (and he) should come to know what the article is about after reading the title. So that he may be mentally prepared for the topic.

By Line : Write the by line i.e., the name of the person who has written the article. This name is generally given in the question. It can be written in the left-hand corner of the article or in the end also.

Introduction : Try to begin the article with a proverb or quote which catches the attention of the reader. The proverb or quotation must be in accordance with the title of the article. Try to introduce the topic while keeping in mind what, where, and when (related to the topic), e.g., if you are writing on natural disasters, you should write what are Natural Disasters in the introductory passage.

Body : The body of the article includes the details of the reasons, advantages, disadvantages, effects, etc.

Conclusion : This paragraph concludes the article by giving possible solutions, hopes, and wishes.

How to use Chat GPT to Write an Essay: 6 Easy Steps

Please enable JavaScript

What is Chat GPT?

Quick Navigation

Chat GPT is an artificial intelligence language model developed by OpenAI. It is a powerful tool that uses machine-learning algorithms to generate human-like text. Chat GPT is trained on vast data and can write essays, articles, and stories, and even engage in conversations.

How to use Chat GPT to write an essay

Now it’s time to see the most attractive thing which is how to use Chat GPT to write an essay.

1. Choose a topic

The first step in writing an essay is to choose a topic. Chat GPT can help you with this by providing ideas based on your interests. Start by providing a few keywords related to the topic, and Chat GPT will generate a list of potential topics. Once you have chosen a topic, Chat GPT can provide you with relevant information and research materials.

2. Outline the essay

Once you have a topic, the next step is to outline the essay. This involves creating a structure for the essay, which includes an introduction, body, and conclusion. Chat GPT can help you with this by suggesting a structure based on the type of essay you are writing.

For instance, if you are writing a persuasive essay, Chat GPT can suggest a structure that includes an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The body paragraphs can be divided into three sections, each presenting a different argument.

3. Research the topic

Research is an essential part of writing an essay. If you are unable to research the topic properly, Chat GPT can help you with research by providing you with relevant articles, studies, and statistics. You can also ask Chat GPT to summarize the information it finds, which can save you a lot of time.

4. Write the essay

Once you have an outline and research material, it’s time to start writing the essay. Chat GPT can help you with this by generating text based on the information you provide. For instance, you can ask Chat GPT to write an introduction based on the topic and research material.

Chat GPT can also help you with sentence structure, grammar, and spelling. It can suggest alternative words and phrases, making your essay more engaging and interesting. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that Chat GPT is not perfect, and you should always proofread the text before submitting it.

5. Edit the essay

Editing is an essential part of writing an essay. It involves revising the text, checking for errors, and improving the overall clarity and coherence of the essay. Chat GPT can help you with this by suggesting improvements to the text.

For instance, it can suggest changes to the sentence structure or suggest alternative words to make the text more concise. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that Chat GPT is not a substitute for human editors. You should always review the text and make any necessary changes.

6. Finalize the essay

Once you have written and edited the essay, it’s time to finalize it. This involves reviewing the text one last time and making any final adjustments. Chat GPT can help you with this by suggesting improvements to the text or providing feedback on the overall structure of the essay.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that Chat GPT is not a substitute for human feedback. You should always seek feedback from other people, such as your teacher, professor, or peers, to ensure that your essay is of high quality and meets the requirements.

Chat GPT is a powerful tool that can assist you in writing an essay. It can provide you with ideas, research material, and suggestions for improving the overall structure and quality of the essay. However, it’s important to keep in mind that Chat GPT is not perfect and should be used in conjunction with human editing and feedback.

Using Chat GPT to write an essay can save you time and help you produce a high-quality essay. However, it’s important to approach it with a critical eye and ensure that the text is of high quality and meets the requirements. With the right approach, Chat GPT can be a valuable tool in your essay writing process.

Generative AI is having a moment. ChatGPT and art generators such as DALL-E 2, Stable Diffusion and Midjourney have proven their potential, and now millions are wracking their brains over how to get their outputs to look something like the vision in their head.

This is the goal of prompt engineering: the skill of crafting an input to deliver a desired result from generative AI.

topics to write articles on

Despite being trained on more data and computational resources than ever before, generative AI models have limitations . For instance, they’re not trained to produce content aligned with goals such as truth, insight, reliability and originality.

They also lack common sense and a fundamental understanding of the world, which means they can generate flawed (and even nonsensical) content.

As such, prompt engineering is essential for unlocking generative AI’s capabilities. And luckily it isn’t a technical skill. It’s mostly about trial and error, and keeping a few things in mind.

First, let’s use ChatGPT to illustrate how prompt engineering can be used for text outputs. If it’s used effectively, ChatGPT can generate essays , computer code , business plans , cover letters , poetry , jokes , and more.

Since it’s a chatbot, you may be inclined to engage with it conversationally. But this isn’t the best approach if you want tailored results. Instead, adopt the mindset that you’re programming the machine to perform a writing task for you.

Create a content brief similar to what you might give a hired professional writer. The key is to provide as much context as possible and use specific and detailed language. You can include information about:

If you want a longer piece, you can generate it in steps. Start with the first few paragraphs and ask ChatGPT to continue in the next prompt. If you’re unsatisfied with a specific portion, you can ask for it to be rewritten according to new instructions.

But remember: no matter how much you tinker with your prompts, ChatGPT is subject to inaccuracies and making things up . So don’t take anything at face value. In the example below, the output mentions a “report” that doesn’t exist. It probably included this because my prompt asked it to use only reliable sources .

Art generators

Midjourney is one of the most popular tools for art generation, and one of the easiest for beginners . So let’s use it for our next example.

Unlike for text generation, elaborate prompts aren’t necessarily better for image generation. The following example shows how a basic prompt combined with a style keyword is enough to create a variety of interesting images. Your style keyword may refer to a genre, art movement, technique, artist or specific work.

The following images were based on the prompt leopard on tree followed by different style keywords. These were (from the top left clockwise) synthwave , hyperrealist , expressionist and in the style of Zena Holloway . Holloway is a British photographer known for capturing her subjects in ethereal and somewhat surreal scenes, most often underwater.

Midjourney generations for _leopard on tree_.

You can also add keywords relating to:

With Midjourney, you can even use certain specific commands for different features, including ––ar or ––aspect to set the aspect ratio , ––no to omit certain objects, and ––c to produce more “unusual” results. This command accepts values between 0-100 after it, where the default is 0 and 100 leads to the most unusual result.

You can also use ––s or ––stylize to generate more artistic images (at the expense of following the prompt less closely).

The following example applies some of these ideas to create a fantasy image with a dreamlike and futuristic look. The prompt used here was dreamy futuristic cityscape, beautiful, clouds, interesting colors, cinematic lighting, 8k, 4k ––ar 7:4 ––c 25 ––no windows.

Midjourney accepts multiple prompts for one image if you use a double colon. This can lead to results such as the image below, where I provided separate prompts for the owl and plants. The full prompt was oil painting of an ethereal owl :: flowers, colors :: abstract :: wisdom ––ar 7:4 .

A more advanced type of prompting is to include an image as part of the prompt. Midjourney will then take the style of that image into account when generating a new one.

A good way to find inspiration and ideas is to explore the Midjourney gallery and style libraries .

A career of the future?

As generative AI models enter everyday life, prompting skills are likely to become more in-demand , especially from employers looking to get results using AI generators.

Some commentators are asking if becoming a “prompt engineer” may be a way for professionals such as designers, software engineers and content writers to save their jobs from automation, by integrating generative AI into their work. Others have suggested prompt engineering will itself be a career.

It’s hard to predict what role prompt engineering will play as AI models advance.

But it’s almost a given that more sophisticated generators will be able to handle more complex requests, inviting users to stretch their creativity. They will likely also have a better grasp of our preferences, reducing the need for tinkering.

How to use ChatGPT to help you write essays

sabrina-ortiz

ChatGPT's advanced capabilities have created a huge demand , with the 'app' accumulating over 100 million users within two months of launching. One of the biggest standout features has been its ability to compose all sorts of text within seconds, including songs, poems, bedtime stories, and essays.

Also:   What is ChatGPT and why does it matter? Here's everything you need to know

Contrary to popular opinion, ChatGPT can do a lot more than just write an essay for you (which could be called plagiarism). What is more useful is how it can help guide your writing process. If you are a looking for ways to use ChatGPT to support your writing, here are five different ways to explore.

How to improve your writing process with ChatGPT

1. use chatgpt to generate essay ideas.

Before you can even get started writing an essay, you need to flesh out the idea. When professors assign essays, they generally give students a prompt that gives them leeway for their own self-expression and analysis. As a result, students have the task of finding the angle to approach the essay on their own.

If you have written an essay recently, you know this step is often the trickiest part -- and this is where ChatGPT can help.

Also:   I wish I had ChatGPT when I was in college. But not for the reason you might expect

All you need to do is input the assignment topic, include as much detail as you'd like -- such as what you're thinking about covering -- and let ChatGPT do the rest. For example, based on a paper prompt I had in college, I asked:

Can you help me come up with a topic idea for this assignment, "You will write a research paper or case study on a leadership topic of your choice." I would like it to include Blake and Mouton's Managerial Leadership Grid and possibly a historical figure.

Within seconds, the chatbot produced a response that provided me with the title of the essay, options of historical figures I could focus my article on, and insight on what information I could include in my paper, with specific examples of a case study I could use.

2. Use the chatbot to create an outline

Once you have a solid topic, it's time to start brainstorming what you actually want to include in the essay. To facilitate the writing process, I always create an outline, including all the different points I want to touch upon in my essay. However, the outline writing process is usually tedious.

With ChatGPT, all you have to do is ask it to write it for you.

Also :  ChatGPT productivity hacks: Five ways to use chatbots to make your life easier

Using the topic that ChatGPT helped me generate in step one, I asked the chatbot to write me an outline by saying:

Can you create an outline for a paper, "Examining the Leadership Style of Winston Churchill through Blake and Mouton's Managerial Leadership Grid"

After a couple of seconds, the chatbot outputted a holistic outline divided into seven different sections, with three different points under each section.

This outline is thorough and can be condensed for a shorter essay, or elaborated on for a longer paper. If you don't like something or want to tweak it further, you can do so either manually or with more instructions to ChatGPT.

 width=

3. Use ChatGPT to find sources

Now that you know exactly what you want to write, it's time to find reputable sources to get your information from. If you don't know where to start, like with all of the previous steps, you can just ask ChatGPT.

All you need to do is ask it to find sources for your essay topic. For example, I asked it the following:

Can you help me find sources for a paper, "Examining the Leadership Style of Winston Churchill through Blake and Mouton's Managerial Leadership Grid."

Also :  The best AI chatbots: ChatGPT and other interesting alternatives to try

The chatbot output seven sources, with a bullet point for each that explained what the source was and why it could be useful.

The one caveat you will want to be aware of when using ChatGPT for sources is that it does not have access to information before 2021, so it will not be able to suggest the freshest sources. However, it is a start.

 width=

4. Use ChatGPT to write a sample essay

It is worth noting that if you take the text directly from the chatbot and submit it, your work could be considered a form of plagiarism, since it is not your original work. As with any information taken from another source, text generated by any AI should be clearly identified and credited in your work.

In most educational institutions, the penalties for plagiarism are severe, ranging from a failing grade to expulsion from the school.

Also :  ChatGPT is changing everything. But it still has its limits

If you want ChatGPT generate a sample piece of text, put in the topic, the desired length, and watch for what it generates. For example, I input the following text:

Can you write a five-paragraph essay on the topic, "Examining the Leadership Style of Winston Churchill through Blake and Mouton's Managerial Leadership Grid."

Within seconds, the chatbot output exactly what I asked for: A coherent, five-paragraph essay on the topic which can help you to guide you in your own writing.

At this point it's worth remembering how tools like ChatGPT work: They put words together in a form that they think is statistically valid but they don't know if what they are saying is true or accurate. That means you might find invented facts or details or other oddities. It won't be able to create original work because it is simply aggregating everything it has already absorbed. It might be a useful starting point for your own work, but don't expect it to be inspired or accurate.

 width=

5. Use ChatGPT to co-edit your essay

Once you've written your own essay, you can use ChatGPT's advanced writing capabilities to edit it for you.

You can simply tell the chatbot what you specifically want it to edit. For example, I asked it to edit for essay structure and grammar, but other options could have included flow, tone, and more.

Once you ask it to edit your essay, it will prompt you to paste your text into the chatbot. Once you do, it will output your essay with corrections made. This could be the most useful tool as it can edit your essay more thoroughly than a basic proofreading tool could, going beyond spelling.

You could also co-edit with the chatbot, asking it to take a look at a specific paragraph or sentence and asking it to rewrite or fix it for clarity.

ChatGPT vs Bing Chat: What's the difference and which one to use?

Natural language chatbots like ChatGPT and Bing Chat have become the latest focal point in the tech industry. You’ve probably already heard about their uncanny ability to write essays, poems, and even computer code. Beyond that, these tools can also simplify complex topics and summarize entire novels. But even though both look similar on the surface, the quality of responses actually differs depending on which service you use. So in this article, let’s take a look at the differences separating ChatGPT vs Bing Chat.

If you’re in a hurry, here’s a quick summary of how ChatGPT differs vs Bing Chat:

Keep reading to learn more about the differences between Bing Chat and ChatGPT.

What can you do with Bing Chat and ChatGPT?

microsoft bing in edge

ChatGPT and Bing Chat are examples of generative AI, which means they have the ability to generate brand-new text that has never been written before. Naturally, this kind of AI is only useful if it can provide accurate information, so how does it work?

In a nutshell, both rely on a large language model developed by San Francisco-based startup OpenAI. The model, named GPT-3, has been trained on billions of text samples gathered from across the internet. This means that both chatbots have the ability to generate text that looks like it was written by a human. We’ll go through some examples in the next section.

Bing also goes one step further as it can search the internet for information in real time. Admittedly, this is a double-edged sword since any misinformation it stumbles upon can introduce bias into the response. However, in most cases, Bing Chat also cites its sources at the bottom of each response. This allows you to easily verify the output’s accuracy by simply clicking on one of the citations.

On that note, it’s important to not completely trust either chatbot as both ChatGPT and Bing Chat are susceptible to “hallucinating”. That’s when a chatbot makes up a response that sounds convincing but has no basis in reality.

ChatGPT vs Bing Chat: Accuracy and knowledge

chatgpt shopping recommendations

If you’re looking for information on a technical subject or recent event, Bing Chat will almost always deliver a higher-quality response as it can search the internet. But if you’re simply after historical knowledge, ChatGPT will do reasonably as well since it has some knowledge of events prior to 2021.

For example, you can use Bing while shopping to compare the pros and cons of newly-released products or to prepare a personalized itinerary for your next vacation. Both of these tasks require a fair amount of web-based research, which will take you far longer to do manually.

On the other hand, ChatGPT fares better when it comes to creative prompts as it’s tailored for conversation. While you could ask Bing Chat to write a poem, story, or essay, you’ll find that it’s extremely fact-driven and that may come at the expense of creativity.

chatgpt creative prompt

That said, Bing does let you choose from three modes, namely Creative, Balanced, and Precise. The Creative mode comes the closest to ChatGPT’s default behavior, as you can see in the screenshot above. Even so, our testing found that ChatGPT provides longer responses.

ChatGPT vs Bing: How and where to use them?

Microsoft Bing Chat listening next to Google Assistant listening

ChatGPT launched in late 2022 as a web-based tool. That open access continues to this day but that may change once OpenAI gathers enough data and the project exits the research preview phase.

Bing, on the other hand, didn’t enjoy a similarly wide release. Even though Microsoft tested the feature for months leading up to its launch, the company opted for a gradual release. In other words, you need to sign up for a waitlist and wait for at least a few days before you can use Bing Chat for the first time.

On average, expect to wait approximately two weeks, although this may change at any point. You can also use Microsoft’s Edge web browser and download the Bing app on mobile to improve your chances of getting selected sooner.

The good news is that once you do gain access to Bing Chat, you can use it on many more platforms. While ChatGPT only works in a web browser, Microsoft has brought its AI chatbot to mobile apps and even Skype chats. The former means you can interact with Bing Chat via voice like you would with Google Assistant .

ChatGPT vs Bing: Limitations and pricing

chatgpt plus

OpenAI imposes very few restrictions on ChatGPT’s usage, even if you don’t pay for it. You may run into some errors if you send off too many messages within a few minutes, but that’s meant to combat abuse. You can also have relatively longer conversations with the chatbot – no per-conversation limits to speak of.

That said, you have the option of paying for a $20 monthly ChatGPT Plus subscription. Doing so grants you three benefits: priority access to the service, faster response times, and early access to new features. Paid accounts do not get higher-quality responses, unlike some ChatGPT alternatives out there.

Meanwhile, Bing can understand most major languages including French, German, and Japanese. However, it does have a few other limitations. You can only have 60 conversations with it in a single day. And each thread is limited to six replies, so don’t expect to have long back-and-forth conversations either. Microsoft may reduce these restrictions or eliminate them entirely in the future. But for now, the company says that most people find what they’re looking for within five replies.

With Bing Chat, you cannot pay for higher limits or better responses. That’s unlikely to change in the future since the company uses Bing to deliver ads and product recommendations.

No, Bing AI uses a more advanced model codenamed Promethus that has more capabilities than ChatGPT. It can also search the internet, which you cannot do with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, a San Francisco-based startup. The same model also powers Microsoft’s Bing Chat.

No, ChatGPT and Bing Chat are both free to use.

Kejriwal, Mamata among 9 Oppn leaders write to PM Modi against Sisodia’s arrest

Citing examples of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, former TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari, the leaders across different Opposition parties alleged that the “investigation agencies go slow” on cases of those who join the BJP.

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, along with eight Opposition leaders, including Trinamool Congress's Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Uddhav Thackeray, NCP’s Sharad Pawar and BRS's K Chandrashekar Rao, wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condemning the arrest of former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia by the Centreal Bureau of Investigation in the alleged liquor scam.

The letter slammed the “blatant misuse of central agencies” and questioned why the Adani Group’s “financial irregularities” have not been probed, without naming the conglomerate.

“Manish Sisodia is recognised globally for transforming Delhi's school education. His arrest will be cited worldwide as an example of a political witch-hunt and further confirm what the world was only suspecting-that India's democratic values stand threatened under an authoritarian BJP regime," the letter read.

“It is clear that these agencies have their priorities misplaced. Following the publication of an international forensic financial research report, SBI and LIC have reportedly lost over ₹ 78,000 crores in market capitalisation of their shares due to exposure to a certain firm. Why have the central agencies not been pressed into service to investigate the firm's financial irregularities despite the public money at stake?” the letter added.

Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26 after eight hours of questioning regarding alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy. On Saturday, his CBI custody was further extended by two days by a Delhi court after the completion of a 5-day remand.
