A LETTER FROM ONE OF OUR PUBLIC SPEAKING STUDENTS

Dear Karine,
I can’t believe I was invited by the Friends of the Simon Wiesenthal Center (FSWC) to speak at their exclusive State of the Union dinner thanks to my big win (with your support) at Speakers Idol earlier this year! I edited the speech that you helped me with slightly before going tonight. (I did this to be more relevant to recent events and to have a more mature tone). I am happy to announce that my speech was met with a standing ovation. I wanted to thank you once again for having me in your incredible Public Speaking course, encouraging me to participate in Speakers Idol, and helping me refine my speech for every occasion. Without you none of this would have happened and I just wanted to express my gratitude. My public speaking skills are at a whole new level now thanks to you and Brain Power!

Speech holds the power to educate, influence and motivate change. That’s why there’s no greater — or more transferable — skill than effective public speaking. Regardless of what form your speech takes, whether it’s the State of the Union or an after-dinner address, compelling communication adheres to time-honoured principles that anyone can learn and adapt to their own unique style of presentation.
Canada’s top-rated public speaking courses and training programs will teach you how to craft key messages in an authentic voice. They will teach you critical storytelling techniques as well as how to structure those messages into a coherent and compelling narrative. Many of the top-rated public speaking courses further explore the use of electronic media, visual aids, voice, and body language, plus techniques for overcoming fear and building the confidence needed to perform in front of large audiences.
With curriculum attuned to the needs of working professionals, and an emphasis on learning by doing, the right public speaking course, workshop or lab can help you increase your creative output, lower your preparation time, and transform the way you communicate.

Thank you Jay. Your coaching was exceptional, and it truly made a difference in my presentation to over 775 bankers at the Convention Centre. My gestures and eye contact with the audience were natural. As discussed, two keys were to rehearse and be grounded. I’ll continue to practice the other areas we explored, especially about being expansive.
I can’t thank you enough, and I’ll be back, to enhance the skills you taught, sometime in the future.
I gave four different presentations this week to four very different audiences and they all went well. Several people came up to me after each talk and told me my presentation was excellent. So THANK YOU for your help!
I want to mention how much your classes have had an impact. I feel more confident and I often get complimented on my public speaking, especially if i’m giving a presentation. I’ve learned to slow down, project, and breathe! Thanks for the roadmap to successful speaking!
